Yeah, the trees I have to work with, Limber Pines, aren’t the best to work with. They have a powdery dark brown material under the bark that makes it look like, on video, there is still bark on. I’ll brush that off as I start to build. Plus it didn’t help they were under the snow all winter.
I build tree houses as a kid and the existing, stick frame cabin you see, but never a log cabin. My uncle in Montana is a big log cabin builder so I have seen them in all stages of construction, so I have a pretty good idea. I’m sure there will be plenty of mistakes though. I have to try!
Great video and well said on the men and women who serves our country to keep this country a free republic looking for forward to your video
Thanks! About to leave for the cabin today. I need to fell 5 trees before getting back to building!
I don't think you peeled those logs enough. We will see in couple of years.

Nice job, Where is the cabin in relation to your home base?
About 125 miles or 2:20 southwest of our home, so it’s always a commitment to go there. I try to make it a 2 night trip when I go.
Have you ever build anything by yourself, or this is gonna be by trial and error?
