Anton Ego is imo the best example of an Antagonistic role. Remember the word “Antagonist” doesn’t always mean someone’s a villain. Ego was just doing his job and thanks to Ratatouille he learned to enjoy food again.
Many people mistaken the meaning of "Antagonist"!! An Antagonist is some one who will in the way of the Protagonist a.k.a the Main character, prevent them from achieve their goal!! Antagonist not always has to be villain! If it's a movie about Joker and he is the Protagonist! Then Batman is the Antagonist although we all know very well Batman is a hero!!
"The world is often unkind to new talent, new creations. The 'new' needs friends." I didn't realize how much of an impact this line had on me until I rewatched it. These days, I far prefer movies, shows and games that try to change the status quo and put their own stamp on existing products. It feels like the creators respect their audience more when they do.
Oftentimes, the greatest dish is not the one made with the most expensive ingredients but the one made with genuine love and care. And Anton Ego’s monologue at the end is arguably one of the best in movies, Peter O’Toole slayed it as Anton Ego.

As an adult now, I realized that this film was an absolute masterpiece, the writing, characters, music! Hope disney pixar makes more of these in the future
I love how the new restaurant "La Ratatouille" straight-up has an actual rat as the logo and the customers only think "hehehe, cute animal be funny". I wouldn't know better.
@@marcharen2 Pixar is property of Disney tho. But, yes, the endings and messages in Pixar movies are more realistic than the ''happy, fairytale, musical endings'' of Disney animations.
I love how this scene fits perfectly as a meme. When you witness something & you suddenly remember a similar feeling in your childhood. Like when in the Mario Movie, the brothers had that commercial & we knew of the Super Mario Bros Super Show from long ago.
Everything about this film is perfect. The good old days of Pixar and Disney. They didn't need to tell you the message of the film word for word like today, but with perfect music, animation and direction. Everyone who experienced the films from the years 2000 to 2010 was privileged, it was a golden age. UP, Cars, Ratatouille, Monsters Inc, Finding Nemo, Brother Bear, Dinosaur, The incredibles, Wall-e, Ice Age. All of those movies have a great story to tell you and values to teach you.
Never think after this movie how long a rat lives, and about what would become of the existence of these people then. It made me sadder then the up intro
I've said this in a few of these reaction awhile ago, and I'll say it here: You're a Top Tier Chef if you can make food taste exactly how Mom would make it!
There's this Pixar period that goes from 2003 to 2015 that I consider it's peak. Finding Nemo, Cars, Rataouille, Wall-E, UP, Toy Story 3 and Inside Out. The best of the best. For some reason I find the latest movies not as good as that period: Onward, Soul, Luca, Buzz Lightyear, Elemental...they are all Tier B to me
it would be rather difficult to one up all those great movies though. its the same with kung fu panda 3. in itself its a pretty good movie, its just that it followed 2 that were so amazing that it kinda became the ugly duckling of the 3.
Several months ago i took a coworker to this diner i like. He ordered their pancakes and told me later that he actually experienced "that moment from ratatouille" because they tasted just like his moms. One of my other coworkers told me a while later that he went again but brought his mom.
the thing I appreciated about Pixar movies even now is when they made a movie that wasn't a princess movie (which was Disney's usual formula) they made one where they didn't need to write original songs at least ones that you'd hear in a musical again like a lot of Disney's movies which when you see the same formula over and over again and you like it you start to expect it but Pixar made it so if they had those kinds of songs in it you didn't expect it but liked it and if they didn't than it didn't disappoint you
I like the realistic ending of the movie unlike the Japanese anime where magically no one loses and everyone has a happy ending, however in this movie not only did Linguini lose his job as a chef but the restaurant and the franchise also closed and ego lost his job. work, they still managed to have another opportunity by creating their restaurant, although small, it is warmer than the others, it gives the message that what matters most is that you love what you do 😷
I don't know what anime you watch, but anime such as Violet Evergarden, Vivy, Steins Gate, The Ancient Magus Bride, and Frieren have good endings to each episode. They could be said to meet the realistic criteria you describe.
Well, not all Japanese anime has good ending there are some good, better, slightly in the middle and bad. If you watch more than what you know, you'll know what I mean.
@@teardrop3842 Of the ones you name, Stein Gate is not realistic at all, they ignore many rules of physics and time travel purely for script so that conveniently the protagonist can move without consequences, ironically going back to the future makes more sense than that anime that ends with a super happy ending because the protagonist saves all the girls when if it were realistic the angel of death would have appeared to warn him that he was playing with things that did not belong to him, but magically in stein gate there is no divine being anything that contradicts the same japanese culture even Frieren doesn't even end and is based more on everyday events, although most end happily. For example, the original group all lived to be old without any problems or illnesses, which is unrealistic. You're lucky if you live to be an old person, after that. It is seen that events happen but nothing really tragic (although they also travel in time but nothing so tragic happens anyway) None of those examples are realistic, not even in the way things react, Ratatouille is realistic because if you bring a rat to a restaurant they will close it and they will fire you, no, magically they won't do it. 😷
@@jerson.romantico.1521 what I'm saying is to have a realistic ending in each episode, that's why I included Frieren where the series hasn't finished yet, the criteria for what you say is realistic above is that not everyone ends happily with a magical miracle, Steins Gate has a core story about cause and effect, the ending you see where he can save all the girls is from steins gate zero, but what I mean was the first steins gate. The Steins Gate story is a story that uses many routes as its ending, and the ending of the first Steins Gate is what I want to suggest to you. If you say Steins Gate breaks a lot of the laws of physics, I can agree with that but the same goes for a mouse that can cook more than one dish and a human who believes in that mouse, even Alfredo's body doesn't make sense at all. Vivy and Violet Evergarden are what I really recommend, vivy about AI being given the same rights as humans is what is very possible (especially when westerners really like to equalize the rights of not every human but every creature they want to try to equalize with them, which which is irony) basically the result is similar to Skynet but how it happened is told well in my opinion and yes some sacrifices must be made to achieve it. like that Violet faces heavy trauma due to her past which took people's lives but is now working to connect people's hearts by letter. In the end, they did have a happy ending, but something had to be sacrificed for that, even ratatouille also had a happy ending but something had to be sacrificed
In here, you can see who really reacts to a scene, and who just ramble over the movie thinking that their opinion is more important than the reaction. Because actually they don't ¨feel¨anything. They just want to vomit their stupid and meaningless opinions about something they already have seen. You can hear them, talking over a monologue that's supposed to be important. I bet those are the same people that screams in a movie theater when they see Spiderman or some other shit.
