I come from Poland and we really respect Prof. Legutko. Great personality. I really hope things will be better, we will fight for it in Poland like in past.

Sadly, it is the same here in Canada: Our Liberal party and Conservative party are almost identical.

I am from Croatia ( Europe, Adriatic sea area ).Two main political parties always changing on the top are Croatian Democratic Union ( christian democrats, European people s party group ) and Social Democratic Party ( socialists, ex communist party ). In fact there are no differencies between them. They are both economic left, and on ideological point, HDZ ( CDU )move to the left, so SDP are loosing their purpose. So now, on the last election the extreme left entered parliament.
Marxism and liberalism are mixed autoritative ideologies in public square here, and
anyone who questions their settings is banished from public tv. Media are 98% in leftist hands. Great conservative intellectuals are very hard could find a space to talk, and they must be very careful not to get the some sort of stupid label.
Unfortunately, to be honest, I think we are moving towards a time of dictatorships and persecution, judging by many parameters.

@@smoul4556 Yes, You're right. So much victims, bloody war for independence, and now we watch people who are servants of Bruxelles.
Unfortunately, we have never carried out lustration here, so we are paying for that.

I want to say that we lived for 45 years in a totalitarian entity called Yugoslavia. After the Second World War, the so-called liberators killed all Croatian intelligentsia, destroyed our culture, tried to destroy the faith of my people by killing priests, monks, nuns, and all good people who didnt agree with marxist religion. Materialism, treacherous spirit, corruption are features of that time, which are unfortunately visible and present today, because we did not get rid of them. The old officials of the regime today are distinguished guests on public television. The people who killed our great people, now are treated in the media as gentlemen.
It is logical thing that over time, they flooded all the political parties, all culture, economy, NGO, even sports. If not them personally, then their children for sure.
If you have read Mr. Legutko's fantastic book, then you know that this is exactly what is happening here in Croatia.

Problem with democracy, problems with the way the country is rulled appear to be typical for EU.
We - Europeans don't care about democracy in Africa, India, Japan ....
Concern is focused on Poland, Hungary sometime on Chechs .... Some years ago also Brittain was under interest. But they said ENOUGH, and leaved EU.
So, why it is so ?
It is hypocricy we say: WHY ??? We know very well WHY ...
As years passed EU became German and French project, and as so it can not satisfy Polish, Italian or Greece ambitions.
It is time to leave ....

He mentions the USA. But I think that only about 30% of Americans buy into liberalism and "woke." Most Americans don't. I think that the percentage is much higher in most other countries. So I still think America is the most resistant to "woke." Also, things were much worse in the past. In the 1930s, the NY Times supported Stalin. I don't think any serious reporter would today fully champion China or North Korea. If you wanted to publish non-liberal information it was much harder. It is much easier today.

Re: your last sentence. Not so in the UK. To publish non-liberal information is becoming increasingly difficult here. In fact, it is close to becoming impossible.
