I love Pattern Emporium, they are my most made patterns. As for sequin pants, you could join the sparkle Friday movement started by a woman in the UK. She wears sequins or shine every Friday.
Live your plans and December makes. Sequin pants and silk or velour or velveteen top would be fun to see, but you'll come up with something best for you.... anxious to see your results. Happy New Year!
Hello! Your Seamwork makes have me considering the membership. The Grafton dress is beautiful and very flattering on you. I will be shopping the PE sale, thanks for the link!
Your grafton dress is gorgeous. Recently I made the Seamworks Oliver using sequin fabric. Using the serger was hit or miss on my practice pieces so I used my sewing machine, I also did not hem the fabric. If I did I would use a facing. For the neck facing of the Oliver I used a knit fabric, like you I do not want sequins against my skin. Happy stitching.
I recently made a Constellation pullover for myself and I'm very happy with it. Love Notions patterns never fail me but I find Pattern Emporium is pretty good, too. Love your Grafton dress and those sequin palazzos will be amazing
I just got this PE all in button up shirt pattern! Can't wait to try it and see yours too. I also got the Urban pants and Pleats to meet you pants. I love Pattern Emporium patterns. Your sequin pants are going to be amazing!
6:34 I prefer the grown on fly as well; I also prefer the "right over left" fly because it just looks better on my finished pants. You didn't make a mistake; you made a beautiful pair of pants😊.
Beautiful trousers Whitney!...Just finished, without buttons, my Cashmerette Haskell shirt. Your teaching is soooo good! Got through the tough burrito part but I had cut out this pattern some time ago in a C/D size 16 and really need a 18 E/F cup. Might be able to use it as an overshirt with a tank top underneath. Living and learning. Appreciate all your cheer and inspiration. Keep going with those gorgeous bright colors that look so good on you. Plus, fun to see Seamwork patterns featured. I'm a member and have been for a few years now and want to start making more of them. Happy New Year....xx Karen
Whitney, you should make a vest out of the leftover fabric! It would make such a great outfit to go with the pants. I love how the pants look and may give them a try myself.
Whitney! Love the sequin fabric! I immediately imagined you wearing them for New Year's Eve or perfect for hosting a disco-themed cocktail/mocktail party! All the best 💫
It was great when you walked that pair of pants up to the camera. I could really see the wales on the material. Love your Grafton Dress. I don't like DBP material. Could you recommend another material that would flow as nice as yours? It's very pretty. The sequin pants sound fun. They would be great on a cruise ship for the fancy dinner night. Please show us the material you use for the lining. I would have no clue what to use for lining or the waist band.
Your Grafton Dress is gorgeous! I have rtw pants where the zippers are installed opposite sides....go figure. Love the All in Easy Fit shirt, as well as the Bonn button down shirt pattern. They are my favorites!
Whitney your Grafton dress is just lovely and the fit is spot on! And those “vermilion” cords are so fun! I can see them with a white/cream faux fur jacket😊. Your newest Destashify haul is so cool. The cotton would make a great blouse or even a tiered dress from PE. I just purchased the PE Coco (woven) and Walk Boldly (knit) wide leg pants. I have a knit ribbed Lurex I’m thinking of using for the Walk Boldly but have concerns with the ribs rubbing at the inner thigh. Are you concerned about the sequins rubbing as you walk? I can see that gorgeous sequin fabric as a Wunderlust too, it has such flow. Can’t wait to see what you make!
Love the Grafton. It looks great. The Pattern Emporium size chart confuses me - even when I was 90 lbs. and had to wear a padded bra and I wore a size 2 rtw my bust measured more than 27 1/2" so who are they drafting for? Your pattern haul looks like a lot of fun. Happy sewing in the New Year.
Hi Whitney, love your sewing ideas and videos! I have experience sewing with sequined fabric. Sewing machine is fine but serging it is another story. I broke a few needles on it before I gave up. 🙈
❤❤ love to see those sequin pants. It’s a nice quick pattern to sew up. There are special needles available for sequin sewing, I think metallic needles 🤔 or you could remove sequins from the stitching line and seam allowance, but that would extend the time to make and who’s got time for that 😂

I just bought 2 patterns from them. I'm excited!❤
I LOVE Sparkle Friday! Bring it across the pond!

Oh I like the idea of a velveteen top!
Love the corduroy pants. I have some crazy sequin pants we had an 80’s party. Go for it! And throw your own party if one doesn’t come up🥰
I love that!

Great advice!
Those vermilion trousers! Beautiful, and so flattering. Wide legs are perfect for us busty, narrow-hipped babes! ❤️
I love these pants!
You will love the All in easy fit shirt, it has a lovely silhouette. ❤
I will check that out!
I absolutely love this dress!
❤️❤️❤️
I joined Seamwork and this was the first pattern I downloaded!
Yay! It's a great pattern!
Sequenced palazzo pants would be great for New Year's events! 🎉🎉🎉
That's exactly what I'm thinking!
I recently made a Constellation pullover for myself and I'm very happy with it. Love Notions patterns never fail me but I find Pattern Emporium is pretty good, too. Love your Grafton dress and those sequin palazzos will be amazing

I love pattern emporium designs. Recently completed version 22 of the All in Easy shirt! Happy stitching 😊
I'm going to check that out right now!

You guys are really tempting me on the vest!
loved your new makes! Cant wait to next months makes either. I think the pants will be fabulous!
Stay tuned!
Whitney! Love the sequin fabric! I immediately imagined you wearing them for New Year's Eve or perfect for hosting a disco-themed cocktail/mocktail party! All the best 💫
Stay tuned--I'm back in the sewing room!
Yoga waist band would be fabulous on your sequin pants! Your Grafton dress is incredible!
Good call! Then the waistband won't be scratchy!
Love your new makes Whitney. Thanks for sharing with us x
❤️❤️❤️
🥳 Happy New Year 🎈
Happy New Year!

I sew sequins all the time doing prom alterations. Both machines will be fine. Use at least a 12 or 14 needle
Thanks for the advice
I can't wait to see your sequined pants! I've been wanting a pair, too.
Keep watching--I'm back in the sewing room!

I will check those out!
Can't wait to see the sequin pants! :) Great, fun idea!🤩
Stay tuned!
I absolutely love your dress. And that neckline is fab! I remember you made a sequin skirt one time. Did you wear that much?
I think it's moved on from my closet--but I did wear it a lot when I first made it.
Stunning sequined fabric, guess you’ll line
Absolutely line! Too scratchy!

Your dress is beautiful Whitney! Happy New Year!
Thank you! Happy New Year to you too!
Hi Whitney, love your sewing ideas and videos! I have experience sewing with sequined fabric. Sewing machine is fine but serging it is another story. I broke a few needles on it before I gave up. 🙈
Good advice! I"ll skip the serger on the sequence

No one has time for that--I'd rather sacrifice a couple of needles !🤣🤣
@ 😂 100%! So metallic needles it is then
@@SewFelicia I was actually able to sew them up with regular MicroTex needles. While it was a MESS to cut them out, sewing them was pretty easy.
@ I’m sure it was a mess. Think it’s more or less mess than the faux fur?
Ooh! Thats a good question. I would say the faux fur might be worse only because it ends up in your nose!
Gorgeous dress!!!❤
Thankyou!
Sequins 😅- I suggest several needles on standby- and no serger!!! Good luck and I hope you have much much much better success than I did! 😂❤
I'll be sure to report back!
Great makes, Whitney. What about a vest/waistcoat in the vermillion corduroy?
That would be so good!
I’ve never put a zipper in trousers before. Do you have a video showing how, and how to make it lie flat? I’m 5’
Yes! Check out the tutorial playlist on the channel homepage
Curved hem shirt dress would be really cool if you have enough fabric!
that would be cute!
Happy New Year Whitney - when you made the Wanderlust did you have to do a FBA/shorten the waist/shorten the sleeve? and Happy New Year to Jenni too!
Such great fit in your pants!👖
Thank you!
