In GTA, we have a similar trick called "curb boosting". The difference is that it's done in the straights to increase top speed. Guttering in Motorfest takes waaaay more skill. ..but I also hate it because I've spent A LOT of time learning how to turn correctly and actually stay on the road. ...so guttering feels really counterintuitive to me. Lol This helps though. Thanks!
the F40 is something else. I remember doing the first race on the liberty walk playlist and got 3:20:and something without any nitro chemist and only 17 legend points. I reached the top 100. Your pro settings guide was just on point. Got 20 seconds faster on that race. The guttering made it a little better because if the shortcuts and some turns that had it.
Great video! As some one who knows how to gutter and gets podiums 9 out of 10 times in grand races, I can confirm that your tips are great as I’ve been following you almost since release!
I'd say Master Work in the Liberty Walk playlist is the best track to practice guttering. I'm not crazy about the gutter exploit because, like the boost system in NFS Unbound, it encourages you to develop skills that are specific to the game and go against basic racing technique. In real life and in most sims putting two wheels off road is a bad idea, either because the dirty tires will then lose traction on the pavement or because you increase the likelihood of a puncture.
This is the video I was waiting for ,thank you. Ive been practicing but needed more advice on best track to practice and who doesn't love the F40. Cheers 🍻 thanks a mill as always love the video and ur content
Thx for the guide, in ur meta videos for tcm, I heard guttering a lot and I didn’t know what it meant, but now I do, thx, also since you’re in the uk right now, for future trips that happen on your summit wednesdays, you could bring a good gaming laptop that doesn’t need much space in your bag so we can still enjoy our wednesdays
My main thing that worked for me was to just practice up and down a really crazy technical road in free drive and just practice that and most importantly don’t beat urself up if ur still new and trying to get it down it’s not easy just keep at it and you’ll get there ❤️
Do your braking in a straight line before starting to turn. Once you've reduced speed enough to dip 2 wheels into the gutter without overshooting the corner, just coast (no brake or throttle) your car into the gutter until the car is properly setteled, then do a bit of throttle control when in the gutter to manage oversteer/understeer. Then steering + throttle out of the gutter. The reason to not heavy brake while turning is tires have a limited amount of grip. You can't both max grip and max turn at the same time. Trying to do that will just cause the car to not turn and also not slow down as quickly. This is the biggest reason people understeer corners is because they are trying to brake and turn at the same time but the poor tires can only do half of each as their available grip is maxed out trying to do to different things simultaneously.
Thats great video, but I am struggling with the togue race of made in japan. That car just slips out of the way in the turns. Will guttering help me? I am at 3rd difficulty
Are you using your headset from your heat era in this video? If so that's funny you didn't toss it out after upgrading to a better one. Not complaining tho
There are literally curbs (those stripey things on the edge of tracks) in actual race tracks that function the same way IN REAL LIFE that professional racers use in pretty much the same way to get better racing lines. It's not an exploit, but a technique that when mastered & practiced allows you to perform better. The reset thing I'd agree on however. Thats on ubisoft for letting it happen though.
Its amazing to see that, even one year into motorfest, people are still helping new players get better at the game.great work trigger

Growing up with initial D , I'm a big fan of this technique
This is the difference between winning and losing!!!
Everyone who plays Motorfest needs to see this video!

I'm glad I caught this video cause I would start guttering but then I'd struggle to finish cause the car would lose control in the dirt

So I tend to break when I go into gutters is that what's throwing me out of the gutter or am I just going to fast and don't realize it?

Resetting should be banished from the game. All the sweats have fake scores
Awful video isn’t this a beginners guide or a gutters tutorial?
Care to elaborate?
