In this video I have used my home crafted tagelharpa, this was my second build at the time. Being the Witcher 3's fan I had to cover this for being one of the best out of the OST.
I have used horse hair as strings, with the instrument's body being pine wood, and the soundboard topped with spruce.

There's just something about these "primitive" instruments. The beauty of "imperfection" trying to reach "perfection" or whatever. Or maybe it's just the grit of the construction that bleeds through the sound. I don't know but if I have to choose between the electronics of today and this sound...not a contest. I'll take the "primitive" over the "advanced" any day. Way more soul.

Revelation! This performance is likely the first of its kind that can be placed alongside the original. I cannot find this material on UA-cam - a Polish musicologist who was fascinated by Indian and Iranian music visited his grandparents on a farm near Warsaw, where he found musicians who use a certain sound that cannot be written with classical notes. It's exactly the same sound as in North India or Iran. It's played on a stringed instrument, some sort of violin variation. If anyone knows more, please send a link.
