This was definitely one of the better choreographed fights in modern Dragon Ball. The focus on Beerus's precision. His mastery with the use of chopsticks. And you can see that the fighting and weight of his attacks just ever so slightly builds up a notch when it comes to the more powerful fighters, more specifically Boo and Gohan, and then finally Vegeta. For a Dragon Ball fight it's really well done. Wish we had more like this in the current age of Dragon Ball rather than the constant brute force and explosions 24/7.

this was the battle of gods movie. dragon ball movies in general have a very very high standard in animation and choreography. at least when compared to most normal episodes
I mean I was never that big on DBZ, but yeah I can get behind this.
The plot is just, here is a stronger enemy, go and become stronger than them to beat them. Not saying it’s always that, but it’s pretty often the case.
Maybe I’m wrong and it comes down a lot more to strategy, I would be willing to be proven wrong, if anyone feels like it. 🙃

You're somewhat right. Especially in later DB it was mostly about sheer power. However, techniques and some strategy does still play a part. And even with power, there's been examples of where the characters learn how to utilize it more effectively. For example the Super Saiyan form drained their power - but Goku learned to remove this crutch by maintaining a calm state while in the form for an extended period of time.
Also, Goku's way of fighting is stated to be Wushi by the creator Akira Toriyama, which is to adapt naturally while fighting rather than relying on one specific method.
There's plenty of examples in early DB of martial arts, strategy, techniques, even philosophy used throughout. It was when transformations were introduced that it began to dwindle quite a lot.
