I have a Vivid memory of this video playing one afternoon in the living room tv. I was fourteen eating a box of nerds on the couch , apple coated watermelon one side, lemon coated cherry the other. Such sweet memory
Whatever happened to her indeed... She went on to make a gigantic stack of increasingly amazing records is what happened. In Exile Deo, Made in China and How to Walk Away are totally exceptional rocking wonder.
Julianna Hatfield is one of those people like Matthew Sweet who are so good that you forget how good they are. Also, I always liked how she would wear all black and scowl all the time in an apparent attempt to overcome the effect of being cute and sounding like a little kid. :^D
Yeah, there was an actual video for this- I have that one too, but UA-cam didn't allow me to post it. Juliana portrays a grungy/psychotic aerobics instructor in it-- haha!. This live version was from 120 Minutes Live.
I heard this on an old sampler called Current Vision or something like that years and years ago. Always loved it. Used to be girls who could rock...what happened to that? We need more of that.
I'm a thinking there's a lot between Ryan, Evan and Juliana - they all rock and they all play soft as well - their best albums for me are when they mix the 2 - ah no, all 3 are great all the time - love you guys!
She was so pretty but I guess the greasy, grunge look was in style in the early 90's and she just went with it even though her music was more pop than alternative. I hope she's doing well after all these years!
+Rich P. Since you mention it, yeah, that drummer's killing it! I'm even a drummer and I never really noticed it. You hear sometimes about "drumming for the song" - in this case EVERYTHING is for the song, it all works together to make a 90-mile-an-hour perfect power-pop song.
she's still performing and making music. i just saw her perform last saturday in Maine, and last May in Boston. she might be retiring from music or taking a break soon, though.
She's actually a really solid guitarist as shown in this video. I think alt music just kind of moved in a direction that didn't fit in for indie rockers. I mean if you think about it Nirvana kind of f-d the indie rock scene; I mean everything that hit the mainstream after Nirvana was sort of a direvitive of their sound.
There were very few 90's albums that I liked as much as "Only Everything"; I cannot think of one 90's album that I liked more. Although I like many songs from her subsequent albums, all of those records contain songs that sound to me like filler. She has never again come close to matching that the overall quality of that one. Which is not to say that she couldn't. Nor does it even matter much, because songs matter much more than albums. This is a really good Juliana Hatfield song.
It's such a shame that she never gained as much attention as some of her contemporaries of the time. She's such a better musician than, say, Courtney Love.
Considering that your comment is from a decade ago, you probably had this question answered for you. But in case you never did...yes there was an official video for this song.
@spmnh " Juliana portrays a grungy/psychotic aerobics instructor in it" correction: Juliana portrays an incredibly hot and downright yummy aerobics instructor in it.
Depends which current sound. If you're talking about Peace and Love, I have to agree; I just can't get into that album. How To Walk Away, though, is the best thing she's ever done (though Only Everything is a not too distant second).
Juliana one's of queen of alternative rock she's beautiful❤
I haven't heard this song in ages! I miss the 90's, when music television didn't suck and they showed and supported quality bands making REAL music!
yup, all true. we had it good in the 90's !!

can't help myself watching this Live Performance over and over again...
I won this CD on a radio contest !!!! In Dallas Texas ! I like her music !!!!
From 2.41 and out. Amazing rock groove and intense vocals! They really hit the nails. Chills! This is what rock to us is all about. All the best, V&R
I miss this so damn much.
Juliana Hatfield's an amazing musician. Her solo albums along with Blake Babies' albums take up a special place in my audio collection.
Haven't heard this song in a million years! It's as good as I remember.
My first ever CD I bought was this album "Only everything" brings back many memories this :)
Mitica Juliana!!! I Love!!!
Give "How To Walk Away" another listen. Probably the best thing she's ever done.
Whatever happened to her indeed... She went on to make a gigantic stack of increasingly amazing records is what happened. In Exile Deo, Made in China and How to Walk Away are totally exceptional rocking wonder.
This little girl rocks. Only Everything...excellent CD! Listen up, people
This song just popped into my mind. And here it is. Shame that they won't let you upload the actual film clip. I remember it. It was cool.
That keyboard player really ties the band together!
Keyboards kind of kill it a bit. Love the song but dig her as a three piece more - musically Julianna Three is up there with Nirvana at times.
Love this album.

Wow...awesome...thanks for the vid!!!
that drummer rocks!

The drummers awesome
Juliana is soo cute, I would love to see her on a interview cause she keeps making videos and songs about life sucks. :(

god I miss this shit!!!!
JH badass as usual. Killer drumming on this track as well.

Juliana rocks! She kicks ass on guitar, and used to play bass in the Blake Babies.
She did the best she could. I will remain, on of her hard course. Go Go Julian!
she's still performing and making music. i just saw her perform last saturday in Maine, and last May in Boston. she might be retiring from music or taking a break soon, though.
Nope
25 year's later, I just noticed I have and still wear the same shirt that the drummer is wearing.
YASSSSS
bravisimo
cool

This is clearly the album studio recording dubbed over a live performance. Wonder what the actual music sounded like 🤔
Are you bananas, sir?
I would like to know which distortion pedal juliana is using!!!!!! freaky!!
ProCo Rat

to the guy grrr who is asking bout video, check out her/them singing/performing this on The Word, really rocks.
This is one of my favorite singles from the 90s. Was there ever an actual video for this? Is this from 120?
Considering that your comment is from a decade ago, you probably had this question answered for you. But in case you never did...yes there was an official video for this song.
Que tiempos aquellos
She's touring in Florida with the Lemonheads and the Psychedelic Furs........woo!!!!!
I personally think she has been underrated for some reason during the 90's, maybe it was politics.
@bhcfun I have the video from when i recorded it off MTV the time it was out. I can upload it if anyone is interested.
@spmnh " Juliana portrays a grungy/psychotic aerobics instructor in it"
correction:
Juliana portrays an incredibly hot and downright yummy aerobics instructor in it.
The song sounds a little distorted. It needs to remastered.
enable embedding!
Agreed, not to mention WAY better looking.
done
Getting old sucks!
wonder whatever happened to her
me too.....It's almost painful
Depends which current sound. If you're talking about Peace and Love, I have to agree; I just can't get into that album. How To Walk Away, though, is the best thing she's ever done (though Only Everything is a not too distant second).
Cute.
Did you know she came from the line of the Hatfields from Hatfields & McCoys? It's true, look it up.
Being an introvert is kind of a good thing. I mean.....have you seen what's out there? It's bleak.
she's a lot cuter here than the jbtv videos
This kid needs to get him a haircut before getting in to High School.
Probably related to James Hatfield
I'm jizzin' all over the place, I wish I had a girlfriend like Juliana hehe... ;)
There's nothing like a chick with a Les Paul.
@seign oh hell no, Courtney Love is the shit!!!!!!!
Is shit*
She is a good musician, but I really feel her voice is too soft for the kind of music she plays, it's very off-putting for me.
