Backpack tip for water bottles. Put the bottles in the pockets before loading the backpack. Sometimes we overstuff a backpack and then the water bottles don't fit, so I put the bottles in THEN pack it so I know how much space I can fill and still use the pockets. It may even be that you just have to load it differently rather than less stuff.
Instead of a blanket, I bring a lightweight cashmere scarf with me as well as HotHands warming insoles for me shoes. With my feet warm, I find that I stay much warmer overall. The scarf weighs nothing but keeps me very warm.
I bring a large shawl for a blanket. It also looks good to dress up any outfit, is nice to take a nap under at the hotel when you don’t want to get under the sheets, is useful in a cold airport waiting area, and can serve as a pillow in a pinch. And it’s light and folds small.
I wear my Mzoo eye shade every night! I have 3 at the moment so I always have a clean one when I (hand) wash them. I am going to get the Turtl! enjoy your channel, class of 86 here! xx
The key advantage of the Flexflap is that you can raise your phone up to eye level (by attaching the Flexflap to the tray mechanism) so that your neck isn’t bent forward all the time. That’s my main discomfort on planes and the Flexflap solves it.
I’ve noticed Alaska Airlines installed such a holder on the back of their seats. 👍🏼 But for airlines without holders, esp for long hour trips, this is a smart product!
I’ve found the flex flap really helpful in rental cars that don’t have Apple CarPlay and the reason I carry it as part of my standard travel gear since it takes up so little space
Right?!! I too make a little commission on the affiliate links, but I'm sure as hell not going to promote something that doesn't add value to the community. That thing was hideous 😂
I always wear long linen pants when travel. It looks nice and also very comfortable, especially for a long flight. To overcome jet lag, I use melatonin. After boarding, I change the time on my phone to the destination time zone and try not to sleep too much on the airplane if it is day time at the destination. It works out great for me whether I went to Hawaii or Asia even if I was only Asia for a week. A new item that I discovered recently and have used it on 2 international flights is the “airplane tray table cover”. It serves as a tray cover when eating, after eating, I pull the tray back up and this cover is a hanging organizer with multiple pockets for water bottle, snacks, phone charger, glasses, etc. I love it and won’t travel without it from now on. It is so useful especially on a long international flight. Everything I need during the flight, I can put them in this organizer and they are right in front of me and I don’t have to search thru my bag underneath the seat in the dark.
Those fold-up hangers are great (Mine are black. The colors are fun!) They frequently are part of my travel gear along with a packable clothes line set & most recently, laundry detergent sheets. Being able to handwash/airdry my undergarments, swimsuit & thin moisture-wicking layers saved space in my carry on! 😊❤ Thanks for the reviews of these other items, too. 😊
Gotta say, I love my back pack. I also use a collapsible bottle, and the only “bulk item” I get out of it is my Turkish towel which I put on top. Otherwise just iPad. It’s perfect for my travel needs.
I have the Hydaway water bottle but I can’t recommend it. Unless you are always holding it by the structured middle part when drinking out of it, the sheer weight of the liquid, will make the silicone bend and you end up sometimes having it splash back on you. Not to mention the large middle portion can be difficult to fit into places when it’s filled and not collapsed. The foldable hangers, though - those are GENIUS. Used them on a recent trip and they were a life saver! Hotels never have enough hangers!
On the nobuy backpack. What i did not like was the straps go all the way attached to front pocket. If it stopped short to seam before front pocket, you will be able to access front pocket without unstrapping. Also, then you can use front pocket for light jacket.
I bought a contoured eye mask from Amazon for plane travel a few years ago. I ended up using the first time for a 2 night hospital stay when I had hip replacement surgery. The eye mask and ear plugs were life savers! I wouldn't have gotten any sleep without them and the eye mask was amazingly comfortable.
I tried both of those backpacks and ultimately liked the suitcase-styled one better. Of course, I'm using it as my only luggage as I'm personal item-only traveling. It holds EVERYTHING and is so compact and slim. I also modified the water bottle holder to fit my large bottle. The Lovevook bag is cute and works well as a backpack, but I struggled to get everything in it and it was overstuffed and too wide at the bottom to fit under an airline seat.
@@GenxGypsy1968 I added some additional fabric and elastic to make it taller and wider. Sewing skills coming in quite handy for all kinds of travel equipment alterations.
I bought that same outfit in the same color and YES I’m glad you said this! It is not flattering, but I will sometimes sacrifice that for comfort. This thing is hot, itchy, and feels cheap. I couldn’t take it off fast enough and idk why others are recommending it.
I watch a lot of youtube videos on my cell and my tablet, so I have cases for both that have a metal kickstand on the back of the cases. So I don't need anything to prop them up anymore!
In reference to the slim light you mentione. I’m going on a cruise soon but will be in an inside cabin as that’s what my roommate prefers. I’m really (stepping out of my box as in the 8 years I’ve cruised I’ve always had balcony. My question is, do you think this would be helpful in this scenario? Thanks for your input and your very informative videos🤗
Oh, I love infinity scarves, just not this one. Putting anything in the pockets made it really uncomfortable. And for the price you could but 2-3 infinity scarves 😊
@@GenxGypsy1968 We are going to Tokyo but will take day trips to surrounding prefectures and Tokyo Disneyland/Sea. Did you find the Japan Web and Medicine forms confusing?
For the Level 8 carry on size, does it fit in the overhead with wheels in first, and the handle showing so you can easily grab it? I had read s review that said it only fit in the overhead with the wheels and handle going left to right. This takes up too much space and others cannot fit their luggage in. I also heard that some domestic airlines are now forcing everyone to put luggage in the overhead wheels in first. Thanks for a great video!
Who the heck spends that much on items!?!? 😳 Some of these items are ridiculously high-priced. Got a blanket from Wal-mart for $5 thatI travel with. I guess different people prioritize different things.
How have you found the black dress you’re wearing to wash up? Any shrinking or change of shape following washing? Have you purchased any other colours?
I love it! I wore it all through Japan and Seoul last summer, and it held up great. No shrinkage and it hasn't faded. I do wash it in the machine, but on gentle, cool water and I hang it to dry. Haven't ordered another color yet, but considering the sky blue or navy. It's funny the reviews aren't great about the fit, but it fit perfect for me... However, I am a short, rectangle and I like a shorter skirt showing more leg, so I think its great, LOL!
I so enjoy your videos. I have that fan, works great!😊 Question… As a travel hack to limit luggage, can I use a zippered pillowcase, and put clothes in there that I’m going to use on my vacation and I can use it as a pillow too? That way I can save space in my personal bag or carry-on? Is this allowed? BTW, Your earrings make your eye color pop.😊
So in theory you should be allowed to bring a pillow with you and it shouldn't matter what is actually inside the pillow case. But I would check the airline you're flying...if its one of the bigger carriers they probably won't really care, but if its a budget airline with super strict requirements, that's where you might run into issues. And Thank you 😊
I talked to my neurologist and he said the best way to combat jetlag is melatonin supplement. However, despite how a lot of youtubers recommend melatonin for in-flight sleep, he said it's not gonna work there, as the dosage in supplements is not very big, and the flights are more uncomfortable than a bed, so it will only help to fall asleep but it won't keep you sleeping too long on a flight. For in-flight sleeping he recommended regular sleeping pills in case someone is as sleepless on long haul as I am.
Wish I had found your channel earlier. I bought a travel blanket and what was advertised as a pillow as well....the blanket was zipped in the "pillow bag"....so it's only a blanket 🙄
