So good ❤
That’s cool.. is there specific principals when drawing dragons, say I want to draw various shapes and postures? Thanks a lot.. appreciate it.
Try basing them off of reptiles!
There aren't any set rules as they're largely based on imagination, but if there are any artists who do dragons and you want to replicate their style somewhat, learn from them!
See if they have videos detailing how they draw them or try to recreate finished pieces they have. Play around with shapes that are common in their work then move on to another artist and try to take the things you liked from the last one and mesh them together with things you like from the second.
I know it may sound cliche, but the most helpful thing to do is to just practice drawing from imagination. Get out whatever image you want to create, even if it's ugly. Then, build it up: Basic shapes you're envisioning, potential color scheme, a pose, etc. until you have something down.
I look at iguanas and snakes for skin texture. Think about a cross between a snake and a lion for the body. Of course, there are many dragon references on the internet too 👍
