Thanks a lot for the diagram detailing how to assembly the piezos vs arduino. I spent lots of time trying to figure out that by myself :-)

Great video! I am attempting to build a piezo-triggered LED light setup for my son's quad marching drums, so on your recommendation I am going to use the MEAS piezos you recommend here. I just got them in the mail yesterday, and am looking forward to experimenting with the different code you suggest here from Sparkfun, as well. If it works for one input, I'm hoping it can handle 4 inputs, as well. Well, theoretically two, as he's only got two arms. :) I will be posting my progress up on the projects section of the Arduino forum, if you are interested. Thanks again for a great vid... I didn't see many other DIY FYI videos... I liked this one!

What would you have to do differently to get a piezo to work as a digital input, for instance in an arduino leonardo as a key input.

How can the sensitivity be increase? If you have to hit it that hard it might as well be a button.
Which piezo is more sensitive? Thanks.

You could change its sensitivity by adding more weight to the end?

Is that sensor can be used for measuring displacement at ultrasonic frequency?

Hello. What is the difference in detecting sensitivity between a round disc type piezo electric transducer and a MEAS vibration sensor? Planning to use them for measuring vibrations in machines and convert this signal to digital for processing in a PLC/ PC

Is there a way one could replace a piezo-ceramic transducer with, say, a switch or a slider?

Hi, I want to use the PZT as ultrasonic sensor, to detect and analyze the ultrasonic waves. Can you help me out with that?

Are the horizontal sensors any good for acoustic / analog vibration pickup? Does the “horizontal” imply that they sense vibrations along one axis only? I’m thinking discreet input channels, per-string dedicated applications like ferromagnetic pickups but for nonmagnetic stringed instruments.

I've got a couple of piezos which sometimes won't send any signal at all! I'm considering to buy these... But I wonder if Spark fun is trustworthy... I think I'll give them a try though. :) If you have any other videos using them, I'd appreciate you let me know

Sparkfun is definitely trustworthy, one of the better companies in the business in my opinion =) I used some piezos in a Stranger Things project here: ua-cam.com/video/d69bMFJrfC4/v-deo.html where I basically soldered them together so that they became one big sensor to hide under a mat to trigger some lights

Super instructive video. You're very articulate and have a pleasant voice.
Please consider not using the music you used for future videos. It made it very hard to focus on your words.

Collins English Dictionary's defines the term "snowflake as "the young adults of the 2010s, viewed as being less resilient and more prone to taking offence than previous generations".
Surprised? Not me. My comment was submitted in the hope that the author could make videos with greater attention to clearly explaining her subject.

1 Drop the annoying music 2 drop the annoying short clips - if a segment is important, make it longer & if it is not important delete it 3 DO NOT employ silly toys
