About 43 years ago when I was only 13, I called the number on the flier we got on our door or in the mail. My mom was so uninvolved in my life that she didn't stop me from getting in a car with a grown man to go to meeting in a neighboring town. He gave me the creeps and my mom's horrible awful alcoholic boyfriend even tried to protect me by questioning why my mom let me go. When I got back from the meeting, they called every day, tried to recruit whomever answered the phone, and were so pushy. I forget who told me I could tell them never to call again but I finally did. The man who drove me to a meeting was very rude and angry with me about not following through with them.
I went to the one in Denver, 1 time, I took my stepdad and my mom with me. I have got mail from them ever since, I even moved to north Florida, and they found my address. They are relentless, and all I was interested in was the books, because I like reading about different religions.
Back in the day the "Personality Test." was free, it was one of their lures to get folks to walk in the door. 75$ for Dianetics, you really got taken there, the books are everywhere for the taking.
Get fully involved. Give them all your money. Give them more money by taking out loans. Then join the Sea Org. (And don't forget to disconnect from your parents.)
In their defense, the people who are calling/texting you are merely doing a job. These people have to meet a quota each day. If they don't, they are reprimanded (sometimes quite severely) for not meeting the standards. I know this seems like I am being apologetic for the church but it's just a little context. It has nothing to do with you specifically, you're just a number on a long list and they have to fill a quota.

I’ve been doing research on this cult. It’s really sad. The reason they call and hound you so much is because they have quotas to meet. If they don’t get a certain anoint on money from you, they aren’t even allowed to sleep. They have so much pressure on them and they are severely punished for not getting enough sales, then that pressure goes to you. Reckless Ben on UA-cam has great examples of this pushiness, he actually goes inside and documents it first hand. Used car salesman and telemarketers have nothing on these people.
‘Kind of scammy’ is the understatement of the century. All their materials that would cost you at least half a million are available online with a bit of digging. However, without all the mental conditioning, you won’t get far through the OT levels without laughing your ass off.

I was in scientology for a few years. Had some really positive experiences and some weird ones. It is weird. It is a religion but not in the conventional way you think of one. Scientology stand are underpaid and overworked
What I always found very unsettling is that all the scientology things look like they were made out of plastic... that medal that Tom Cruise got in the mid 2000s (?), or all their sysmbols and coat of arms (I had to look that up, English isnt my first language)... even Hubbard's bust looks like it's made from plastic. All the silver and gold looks like plastic. Like it's all a big... facade.
I know 5 people who are Scientologists, and they are all smart, kind and successfull people. I went and checked it out for myself and can say some of the courses they offer are very good IMO. With that being said, I can agree with this young lady that they are extremely pushy and annoying. Most of the people at the org are well meaning and truly believe in what they are selling. Problem is, they don't realize they themselves have been indoctrinated into thinking the word of LRH is the word of God. Its quite interesting how they want to help you to become "free" yet they are prisoners of the org and most of them don't even realize it.
I first encountered "Dianetics" at Edinburgh University Science Fiction club in 1988. They told me that each year, they voted on the worst book in their library, and took it to the local shooting range (that was legal back then) and shot it. Their paperback copy of "Dianetics" (mostly yellow as I recall) had three bullet holes in it. Several years later, I was in Munich, attending a conference... the day before, while walking around the city, I was invited to "take a free personality test", outdoors, and with no fee. I went through that, despite thinking "free? what's the catch?" but also it was in a public space... After the "test", the guy told me I "clearly had a personality problem", but that in his view it was clearly getting worse over time. I wasn't confident to dismiss what he said about the first item (how did I know if I have a disorder? ;-) at the time) but I DO know that even if that were true, it wasn't getting worse over time; they couldn't possibly tell that from a single test, and that was my final answer to get the hell away from them. which I did. It was years later that I realised I had almost certainly been approached by Scientologists. Yikes.

They’re talking about your rent, your food money, all of it. They don’t care. These regs have quotas to make of thousands of dollars a week. All that matters to them is money. I’ve never been in it, but I find these kinds of things interesting.

Ok..Former scientologist here. The reg shouldn't not charge you for thr OCA (personality test) that is supposed to be free to help determine what courses and actions you should do. That was a out ethics registrar.

It would be interesting to know what prompted you to seek a particular church ? What your expectations were, what you wanted to gain on your journey ? Why do you expect church services to be provided free of charge ? They very rarely are. Congregations are paying their church in one way or other.
When I was your age I almost joined myself. But afterwards reading Dianetics I thought this was a bunch of hooey😊 Now as I watch videos of ex Scientologists who say they wasted 20, 30, years of their life because of the mind control they were sunk to, I feel I made the right choice. Their paperback copy of "Dianetics" (mostly yellow as I recall) had three bullet holes in it.
Several years later, I was in Munich, attending a conference... the day before, while walking around the city, I was invited to "take a free personality test", outdoors, and with no fee. I went through that, despite thinking "free? what's the catch?" but also it was in a public space... After the "test", the guy told me I "clearly had a personality problem", but that in his view it was clearly getting worse over time.
I wasn't confident to dismiss what he said about the first item (how did I know if I have a disorder? ;-) at the time) but I DO know that even if that were true, it wasn't getting worse over time; they couldn't possibly tell that from a single test, and that was my final answer to get the hell away from them. which I did.
It was years later that I realised I had almost certainly been approached by Scientologists. Yikes.
You poor girl, you gave them your address and number? They are going to constantly call you, text you, send cheap their cult religion paraphernalias to your home or at worse show up at your house. The only way they can leave you alone is if you threaten them with a lawsuit or exposure which you are doing now. Good luck

You seems like a nice girl. Stay away from them. $75 is nothing to them. People give them hundreds of thousands of dollars. These aren’t wealthy people. People will go into debt to pay them. They expect it from everyone. I’ve seen videos of them telling their salespeople, who they call regs, to make the sale. The person in front of them has the money. They’re talking about your rent, your food money, all of it. They don’t care. These regs have quotas to make of thousands of dollars a week. All that matters to them is money. I’ve never been in it, but I find these kinds of things interesting.
A good question to reply for every pushing comment is: "-Are you trying to affect me now?" If she still continues, ask the question again. And again. And again.
Ok..Former scientologist here. The reg shouldn't not charge you for thr OCA (personality test) that is supposed to be free to help determine what courses and actions you should do. That was a out ethics registrar.

Why do you expect church services to be provided free of charge ? They very rarely are. Congregations are paying their church in one way or other.
When I was your age I almost joined myself. But afterwards reading Dianetics I thought this was a bunch of hooey😊 Now as I watch videos of ex Scientologists who say they wasted 20, 30, years of their life because of the mind control they were sunk to, I feel I made the right choice. Psychology and real science helped me with my depression and anxiety
