Zack: "you got a wife and a kid too, right?"
Doug: "yeah yeah yeah"

@@simonlangner you the real mvp
I get this on every level. The subtext too dude...LOL
(I also love seeing the i8 out the window)
@@MuteCrimson thx mate 💪☺️
Doug absolutely excels in this type of format. Also, the way him and Matt bounce off each other makes for an excellent listening experience. Would love to see more collaboration between them.
@@GrantHolmbergBaugher And it clearly works very well for him.
They’ve done like 3 podcast episodes together before this. They’re great if you want more go watch those.
@@lberc20 I’ve seen them all, haha. Thanks though!
yeah they have great chemistry
I don't even watch his videos. He's my favourite regular guest.
it’s simple: i see doug in the thumbnail, i watch the video.
You bet!
THIS!!
Doug is odd but he's are odd guy!
Tbh I did a quick double take on the duration but then I launched FH5 and played the video. Doug talking cars for 3 hours is the ideal backdrop, almost like some sort of petrolhead ASMR
I totally absolutely agree. I used to follow Matt Farrell the smoking tite on UA-cam. who I used to follow had a podcast, but in my UA-cam algorithms, I saw the podcast with Doug DeMuro, and I'm not watching it. It is a very long podcast but Doug DeMuro is the best car reviewer on UA-cam in my opinion and that's why I'm watching it!
This is one of those good conversations that doesn't feel as long as it really is! Doug rocks!

Don’t change, Doug. You identified a unique rhythm that works really well. It’s fun, informative and trustworthy. Love it.
He's got 4 million subs. If you don't want him to use any of his increasing budget to improve his content that's just your fetish. Your opinion is annoying to me because there are people who understand that the exposure he gets comes at the expense of other car channels which would actually put their revenue back into their content instead of producing low budget content with a "unique rhythm that works really well". I shouldn't be concerned about your opinions and taste but when you're discouraging the most successful automotive channel from improving then I don't think it's hard to understand why I have a problem with that, considering the fact that a lot of people with 1% of his subs put more effort and budget into their videos.
@@アマ-p2l ma'am this is a wendy's
@@user-ve9tu5rv6e Yeah isn't it great the most successful automotive channel on youtube is producing low budget videos? That's the point of youtube, isn't it? To make content creators able to produce the same low budget content they produced at 1000 subs while pocketing all the additional money. It's just great.
You get me? I haven't met a single person in my life who could argue about this, but I've seen millions who are fine with it because they don't understand the bigger picture.
@@アマ-p2l His simple format is nice because it makes it seem non corporate and personal. But I think he could improve his video quality and some color grading.
Yeah, many of us have been watching since he was writing for Jalopnik and the videos were a supplement to his articles. Even as an early UA-camr he had to rely on viewers’ cars to do video reviews. The low quality content is what we’ve come to expect. Never change Doug!
I'm torn on whether Doug should have is own podcast. Would he show us the quarks and features of the person he's talking to. Would each guest get a Doug score.
I wouldn't be surprised if he has no time. Dude is mad busy running youtube and cars&bids.
im also sure he probably doesnt have time, but he would great at it, notice when matt leaves to get phone and how easy doug moves convo over.
starting with the weekend categories in styling...
3 hours of Doug? Should’ve released this on Christmas
I respect how humble Doug stays throughout his success.
WHT DON"T I HAVE A BUGATTI!
@@jeoboden you probably have everything you need though. But I hear you on the Bugatti

@@dstein111 Matt has turned into a white boy Kwanzaa. So gay.
THIS is always a great podcast when Doug comes on!
Doug is my kind of traveler. The only stops are for gas. Bathroom breaks can be taken when we stop for gas.
We love Doug on this show. Thanks for making it long as fuuuuuuuuuuuck
Not irony
@@Emm2004 BIG DOUG ALWAYS LOOOOOONG
Doug, the kind of guy who has a chocolate rider on all his media gigs.
Hes not showing for anything less then 2 bags of Hershey's kisses.

👌👌👌
Man, Doug is genuinely a fun dude to listen to.
Doug is one of my all time favorite guests on any podcast
My jaw dropped when I saw this video!! Bravo Matt for giving us what we want
I was at a cars and coffee in Bryn Mawr PA and someone had their Porsche Carrera GT there and I basically thanked the guy for bringing it out into the wild because I have never seen one in person. That's what I appreciate about true car enthusiasts
When was that? I’ve been looking in the area for cnc
Yet another amazing episode. Like two old friends catching up on things. Nothing but a casual conversation.
This Doug guy seems pretty cool. Gonna have to give him a sub.
It doesn’t get any better than this. I keep looking down and seeing there’s a whole bunch of time left, and that makes me happy
"Daddy Doug" is actually relevant now.
We need Chris Harris on the podcast!
You are in luck sir!
Love Doug! Great he's back in person!!
The steering wheel yoke is literally a safety issue. In an emergency situation where you need to perform counter oversteer and what not, the yoke is so unsuitable for those actions and it will literally lead to an accident almost every time. Try drifting a car or catching huge oversteer on a sim racing setup where you have the yoke style shape, it leads to crashing the car 9.99 times out of 10. Seriously the dumbest idea to ever come to a car in a long time. And the worst part is the counter argument to that is "it looks cool"
I met Jerry Seinfeld at a Rennsport Reunion at Daytona. He could not have been nicer. He told us all about the 356 he had brought to the event. A great experience meeting him.
Dougs the kind of guy who request two cholocolate crunch bars instead of appearance fees.
This has been one of the most enjoyable 2+ hours I've ever spent on youtube. Great work Matt and Doug! It really felt like being with y'all in the studio, congrats!
Thanks for the feature on our 2003 wrx! One owner with 15k miles traded in to our dealership. It sold back to the original dealership that sold it at shingle springs and will likely be preserved there the manager who sold it said driving it back :).
Wild crazy car times we are in. Next up is a hummer so stay tuned.
I was skeptical about a nearly 3 hour podcast with these two but it really turned out to be quite good. Can’t wait to hear this combo again.
I’m glad you still do the Matt versus Tesla counter. Doug would approve this quirk.
This is the best podcast episode I have ever seen. I'm going to give it a Dougscore of 6 out of 10
What about the weekend category?
😭😭😭
Matt hates Tesla is so funny 🤣! We love you Matt! Thanks for bringing Doug for the Podcast 💪
Matt and Doug are like fire and ice, but it somehow works.
Yeah, 3 hours of petrolhead ASMR !
I'll give it a weekend score of 46 out of 50 which places it here against its most relevant rivals.
Doug is a authentic individual.
Great guest.
Excellent contrast to TST energy.
Good job Matt
refreshing … still want a bugeye
Imagine Doug rating your wife... "Starting with the weekend categories..."
And now Doug has a carrera gt
I randomly walked by Matt on the santa monica pier visiting from NY. He was just strolling with his wife and was super cool. Said hello, mentioned we met at his favorite bar in NYC. But was very cool in both interactions....A lot bigger in person than I thought haha.
My father also had AML when he was 67 in 2007. His brother was a perfect match and had a stem cell transplant at MSKCC. He is 12 years past his transplant and 81 years old. It was a rough 2-3 years but now he is cured. My father 90 days in the hospital. Great for your brother in law.
Happy belated birthday Matt! Proud of you dude.
I love everything about this podcast - the constant return to cars, no matter where you go, and the keeping it real with Doug's fascination with quirky cars.
I love when they are going on about $1 million + cars, and Doug brings it back to reality with people having to pay $4000 over sticker for a Rav4 Prime.
First podcast I’ve ever watched, and… it was Matt and Doug. And, it was THIS podcast. So good…
OMG!! You two have such a great relationship. So honest with each other. So informative.
So entertaining! Having said that, I will look for more podcast from you two.
Seeing my question get both answered and start an argument between Matt and Doug is hilarious.
I’d like to see Doug review the T.50 when they start delivering cars
1:00:30 Attitude Cars Celeb&Car taste
1:04:21 Seinfeld vs Leno
1:48:00 Tesla Yolk steering wheel
2:16:00 natural aspirated manual transmissions (BMW)
Zach at 2:37:50 🤣
Another terrible/dangerous thing Matt forgot to mention about the plaid is the brakes. It's criminally underbraked.
29:51 So stoked for Doug to finally get a Carrera GT just 2 years after admitting he'd never be able to get one. A dream come true.
2:35:04 Doug gets it. Matt effectively said right there that his time is worth less than $30 an hour
If you wasted 12 hours already, pay the damn $500 for a shoe
Both of these guys are perpetuators of artificial markets.
So interesting to listen to the Porsche/Corvette thing. Even the 'rare-ish' Porsches never really feel that rare over here in the UK. Theres usually a variety of GT and RS models at my local cars and coffee.
Someone rocks up in a C6 Corvette? Woah, cool, lets take a look at this!
I could watch 288 episodes of the podcast with Doug Demuro, these episodes are always a must watch!
I'm 100% with Doug when it comes to the modern day Porsche culture.
Doug understands his craft very well. His self reflection is a big reason to his continued success.
Love the pair of Heuer Autavia dash timers on the shelf behind Matt. Awesome
This was great. I could listen to these guys for 10 hours. Looking forward to the next time Doug comes on again. I aslo agree with Zack that driving in winter is so much fun!
Doug the type of guy to bring two king size candy bars to a podcast.
One of the best episodes in months. Missed you guys talking across the table
I have a 19 wrx and I think Matt's wrong about the bug eye. I'd pay more than what I paid for this wrx for a bug eye. I know Matt's driven both but the bug eye experience is so much more raw.
I love my RAV4 Prime. Would have liked to get my hands on the Lexus version but meh. Had to put $1K down to reserve the next one coming in. Took just a little over a month. Got an SE at MSRP, with the weather package and a moonroof. It was like $41,977 before anything else. My wife works for a boarding school where we also live. They have a few free chargers. With that 40-ish mile electric range, I have purchased 2 tanks of gas since I bought the thing on veterans day.(So counting the initial tank it came with that is less than 3 tanks of gas in 3 months. I am also getting back $7500 Federal and $1500 in MA State on the thing, making it cheaper than the regular Hybrid. It's got the cargo capacity upgrade I wanted from my ancient camry. The ride is good and the extra torque and power are fun. I regret nothing.
The dealership was scummy, though. They refused to take my bank's financing after telling me that would be fine when i put the deposit down. Only options were cash or Toyota financing which didnt even come close to my bank's interest rate. Took the Toyota financing and refinanced with my bank almost immediately. Got a better interest rate but not as good as the first one my bank offered me on the initial loan.
This episode made me EXTREMELY uncomfortable not seeing Doug in two shirts… concerning blink twice if u need help Doug
The only reason the half steering wheel is a thing, is because Elon Musk wants to take away every last ounce of driving experience so we have to rely on automation.
Seriously one of the most enjoyable podcasts I've listened to.
I was just thinking the same thing. The flow was easy and natural. I talk cars with my buddies the same way. Cannot wait for the next one.
So it took me 3 days to watch this. Glad I did! Used to watch Matt doing the smoking tyre car reviews a few years ago, but now I lonely watch Doug! I may watch some more of these podcasts tho!
30:25 Well, this didn't age very well lol
Always great to see Doug in the studio
30:20
Man Doug, you sure proved yourself wrong there !!
This was awesome . Quickest 3 hours ever . I could have listened another 3 easy.
Doug the type of guy to do a podcast while he listens to the podcast in his ear buds while he has on headphones for the podcast.
Rav4 prime seems like a great vehicle to rack up miles on. Most of my commute would be electric and the gas motor makes up for the fact my city of 100k doesn't have a DC fast charger.
Doug's episodes always make me laugh out loud while driving
Three of my favourite car guys talking about cars! Awesome video.
My 2 favorite car people united once again. Yall need a show permanently
holy crap at 19:55 imagine getting Valentino Balboni to check out the used Lambo you're thinking of buying
So enjoyable! I watched a 1000 hours of Doug, but never heard a conversation with him. Awesome guy. Thanks for all the content!
I dont like Doug I dont like his taste in cars I dont like the way he looks I dont like the way he talks why am I even watching this?
2:39:47 so critical. The automaker has control over the reviewer's revenue stream.
Doug seems like such a solid dude.
lexus LFA needed a manual gearbox!!!!!!!!
matt - had an 84 rabbit diesel 4 speed as a $400 "beater" when my b16 swap in '99 was taking a little longer than expected to arrive from japan for my civic swap.... some of the best times of our teenage lives in that car, glad you can still have an appreciation for the underpowered wonders of the world
doug - stay eclectic, please dont change a thing - many cheers
Always got mad respect for you for calling out Tesla
If only my salary would inflate 50% like cars.
I was in Colonia Uruguay for the day back in 2014 and opted to rent a car to explore the area. I didn’t have a reservation and there many cars left on the lot. This youngish Uruguayan guy, who looked just like Diego Forlan, took me over to a BYD (something) that looked like a ripoff Honda Civic. I got inside, and it was just an utter piece of shit. I turned to the rental guy and asked, " this a safe car?" "no..." he replied.... but all have left. "Do you think it will make it up to Mercedes and back I asked?" "I mean...it might..." he replied...." do this, ill give you my cell phone number and if you have a problem I'll send someone with a truck to come get you." We took it out for the day, but it couldn’t make any hills, nothing over 5%....so we ended up driving it for maybe 3 miles, eating lunch returning it ....but before I did...I opened the hood....it looked like a lawnmower tractor.
Awesome convo... Solidified my Demuro loyalty.
Doug needs to be a guest on PKA
This is so good. I haven’t laughed so hard in a while. Great to hear Doug in long form
I love both your channels, but I often have my ADHD get the better of me after a few minutes. This interview was awesome and kept me engaged for all 2.5 hours. Thank you for taking the time to put this one together!
Electric cars and CVT cars are really comfy in traffic, I gotta admit. Specifically they help the driver to dissociate. Also cruising around slowly in silence with no jerkiness is awesome when adventuring someplace new and taking in the scenery.
Can't believe Doug didn't say " THIS IS THE SMOKING TIRE " 🤪😜😺
Holy, Matt is jaded on doing car reviews/movies. Good on him with the car storeage!
Zach is what you get when you order a Young Jamie on wish
😅. I hope he does something with comedy career.
@@paulpierce21 and Matt’s a wish version of Joe Rogan 🤣🤣
Goddamn this is entertaining. Zach/Zack's comment's are getting really funny too, I wish he opined more.
Wtf is with all these people worshiping doug? If he told you to drink the coolaid you would do it.
Very funny to listen to Doug talking about Countachs and Carrera GTs like he would never be able to obtain them
I love watching Doug’s vids but damn I’ve never seen him with this camera angle.. and when I say angle I mean ANGLE bruh 📐
People who don't fit the stereotype:
I was a valet at a children's hospital and had 2 ladies come in a Camaro ZL1 with a stick shift. :)
You guys should become the new top gear. Top dough and Matt
Matt's face during the whole yoke conversation 🤣
Don't worry I agree wholeheartedly.
It's funny how Matt thought Doug was annoying until actually meeting him and have a podcast with him, come to find he's one of the most interesting people to talk to, and audiences to listen to.
I wish you two did a podcast together regularly.
Key point that these guys mention is "the guy with that kind of money". When you have a lot of money and you want something the price doesn't matter but, thats not the norm.
