It’d be really good if you could go through the differences of touring in a troupie and a dual cab 70 series. I’m toying with the idea of building a tourer
We did the crossing from Dalhousie Springs, Poeppel corner, Jervois station, Bedourie, Birdsville, recently. Now, the whole area looks much more greener and beautiful. Your video looks so good as well.
Hi guys, just in awe of the places you travel and the adventures you so brilliantly capture. Where exactly is the camp with the lush green vegetation and the water bodies? I can only imagine how nice it smelt! Cheers for taking us along.
Spectacular spot for a camp, looks more like a Pilbara/Kimberley camp. Love the timelapse shot. Well done Holly, being the guinea pig Thanks for an awesome series
Great series guys , thanks so much for all your efforts. We all appreciate it . Nothing beats the sound of a thongslapping vdj up a desert sand dune 👍🤠
Wow, that's a beautiful change of colour and scenery. From the desert to lush green and water. That camping spot is so cool. Look like a good spot for swim too. It's sad to see your road trip come to an end and farewell to the gang but you guys made the most of your time together ❤️. Looking forward to your next adventure ❤
Did it recently in my dmax in 3rd low at 15psi took me three attempts to finally get the right gearing and speed, the 300 series with us made 6 attempts great entertainment as we had a crowd of onlookers cheering as on right on sunset.
Thanks for all the effort in making this. Such good everything. The quality is so top shelf, feel very privileged to watch this. Cant wait to see what the future holds.
Awesome driving girls, couldn’t really tell the difference from the blokes!! Time lapse of the stars was spectacular almost didn’t look real. Loved Hollys serious face getting up big red. Don’t know if your faces looked relieved or sad that the big trip was ending!!
I think both relived and sad.If you watch the timelapse at the end of the video where is slower, you can actually see a meteor shower that was happening that night.
You have a good collection of images that would make very awesome large pictures to hang on a living room or hall way wall, or in the shed, definitely in the pool room😆…. @@OverlandTravellers
That’s very kind Craig, I don’t know whether to thank you or send you to the Dr’s to get your temperature checked😂. Either way mate, I appreciate you joining Jill and I on our travels ❤️😎
Another great series guys. Loved each episode. I had to take that Eyre Creek bypass back in 2019 and the beauty of it just blew me away. Brought back fond memories.
I sure do know where the camp is!! Went through it in August after doing Googs Track. Well worth it, surprised its still got water, I'm looking at track closures and that part of the Simpson still shows as closed along with Walkers Crossing. Hope to head up that way again next year and do a loop. Thanks for the vision it takes us back to our own journey.
Fantastic series thanks . The drone footage and photography in general I thought was amazing. Especially liked the early morning drone footage when leaving camp heading back to Alice Springs also the photography of the desert wild flowers.
The dunes look great 👍. Awesome scenery and I didn’t know wether you could do a quick follow up on Adrian’s brothers truck. I thought it was a nice looking unit
Great trip and great time to do it - thats why I keep going back to the deserts - different every time. I get the impression the fat mud tyres are doing you no favours. We drove a HJ47 on skinny tyres for 7 years and it was good on dunes considering how underpowered it was. The following 20 years I ran fat tyres on other Landcruisers and over the past 5 years have gone back to the tubeless skinnys on my current Troopy. The tall skinny tyres on the desert tracks are the best in my experience. And my vehicle gets lighter - I'm 3300kgs fully loaded for Canning, Simpson and GVD trips.
Yeah skinneys would be better. We actually had pretty large tires on the 47, 285/75/16. I think the pressures were lower and it weighed quite a bit less. If I let the pressure down more it might have made it. The new one had probably 3 times the power though
I used to have a V8 79 series for work and loaded up to the hilt, going up north on the Sturt highway, you’d come against a B Double and put the foot down, pass It look down you’re doing 150-160 ,’scary stuff?
Hey Guys what time of the year did you do this particular trip? Would like to cross the Simpson desert this year and camp at that lush green river Love your content btw!
B-roll KING! This is one of the main reasons that I watch your videos. I love it.
One of the best adventure series' on youtube. Beautifully shot, great storytelling, great editing. Looking forward to your next one - enjoy a break!
Thank you! Appreciate the kind words. Hopefully it wont be too long before we back out there.

Not a bad idea for a video! I think ill have to sit down with Adrian on that one.

Pretty amazing to see even when you hear about it its still surreal seeing it in person

Yes the whole going back to Alice wasn't ideal but the shots we got driving at dust and dawn were worth it!
Great effort, great video. Beautiful images. Thanks guys.
Thanks for watching :)
Amazing video guys
👍👍🍻 i remember the old girl in tractor mode just taking it easy up big red and did it easy first pop ❤
Yeah it still surprises me to this day
The dunes look great 👍. Awesome scenery and I didn’t know wether you could do a quick follow up on Adrian’s brothers truck. I thought it was a nice looking unit
It ended up getting repaired in Port Headland and he finished the Canning solo
Wow amazing!!!!
Thanks!!

Awsome episode
Thank you :)
Awesome trip and great camera-work
Thank you!
Might be the difference in width with the tyres to get up Big Red?More resistance.
We had pretty large tires on the 40, I think it was a combination of pressure, weight and tyres
Completely jealous😂. Boy loving this crossing. Matt how I the conversion holding up. Thinking to do the conversion on my new Troopy
I will be doing an update soon!
@@OverlandTravellers thanks Matt

Yeah they can get up and boogy thats for sure
Tree Martin Nests with the mud bottle shapes ?
I am not sure exactly but it sounds like you might be right. They were fantastic nests there must have been multiple nesting in a single structure.

It was August when we did this mate :) thanks for watching.
