Yeas ! Yeas! But I was thinking about serious Neoclassicism when I heard the beginning. And this is the first version of the music for the cartoon: film, film film (USSR)?
But we musn't forget the fact that Malmsteen is the reason we have extremely skilled guys like Romeo. And I guarantee you that Michael has the outmost respect for Malmsteen.
This guy was playing better than most of the best technical metal guitarists even are in the 2020s (most is the keyword, there are some insane monsters today, including Romeo himself).
I don't know much about this guy. Ive's said before, and im glad to hear other opinions from Malsteen fans. Technically Romeo can handle all the Malmsteen stuff, but Malmsteen (back on his 1st two albums) blew everyone's mind. No one at that time heard anything like this. Another point is that a 1/4 of Yngwie's stuff on those albums were slow ballads. He plays with such emotion, especially the song "Marching Out" It's an awesome song. Check it out if you've never heard it. PLAY LOUD!!!!!!!!!!!
he is beyond comparison it isnt that he is fast (which he is) it isnt that he has the most amazing techniques (although he is close) but he has a sound all his own too beautiful for words
Who ever does not like this guy............Jealous!!!! No other shredder plays with more melody and fine technique. Many can blister through a million notes, but not with the melody of Michael Romeo!!!!!!!
Damn right he did! I bet his parents thought that Michael was wasting his time when he locked himself in his room for 8+ hours a day and made a racket!! Look at him now. One of the most respected guitarists around!
im thinking of trying this.it looks insanely hard!im 40 and wish i had kept at it when i was younger.if i can just about pull off most of Mr Scary then im gonna try tacke this
Glad to see someone agrees with my thoughts. Who cares what Michael Romeo looks like! Michael is one of the most amazing and influential guitarists around. He can more than hold his own against others.
Al Di Meola And John McLaughlin are probably the real first on electric if you want to get technical. First notable at least. They were like shred Jazz, Shrazzers. I'm sure there was some hillbilly in Oregon sitting on the porch whaling away first but, who knows them.
I get what you mean! I am really like their newer album "Paradise Lost". It has great song composition, great singing and most of the songs have the musicianship symphony x is known for plus a heavier sound with more hooks.
@dellabona69 This shows us an important idea that there is no "so-called difficulty" in playing or learning guitar and all the other musical instruments as long as we always make an effort on it. MICHAEL'S GREAT!!!
@umbyronco85 già, ma manine piccole significa avere delle dita più "scattanti". guarda steve vai, ha delle liquirizie al posto delle dità! potra fare fraseggi larghi ma mai andare oltre i 240-250 bpm, ma non serve a molto
Thanks. I looked for any Michael Romeo DVD's and found nothing also. I'll see if I can get it from Google video. I downloaded the Pentatonic Hardcore one from there and that's over an hour long I believe. Thank you much! It's nice to see that people still behave maturely on UA-cam.
@1norville Exactly, there can be no other reason for anyone to dislike this mind blowing performance. Romeo is the epitome of technique and power, among a few others.
haha i agree his right hand though is just as good as his left, he picks almost every note, while if I were to play i would probably tap it...hell even his tapping is amazing. Hes got really good technique, whether it be sweep picking, alternate, economy, w/e he can do it well.
my favorite guitarist. i mean. people like impelletteri and malmsteen and vai are good, too. but michael romeo's style is the best. plus he knows when to speed up and when to slow it down. -_-' some guitarists just shred up the whole thing and dont even stop to give me a breather. i hate it when that happens.
@maggotfrom1993 No worries bro. A Power Hunk is a man who possesses the following attributes: (1) Increased muscle mass/bulk (2) Extremely powerful skills in any area i.e. business, sports, music etc (3) High levels of self belief and confidence. So for example, John Petrucci from Dream Theater is a Power Hunk, as is Wesley Snipes. Hope that helped bro. Stay Alpha
learn to respect other musicians too. if you hate listening to this kind of music then don't watch it rather than leaving bad comments. a real musician knows how to respect. by the way I'm not into this kind of music too but he did it so well.
a friend of mine met him and he said he was a little dude with really tiny hands. the fact that he can do this with those little cocktail wiener fingers pisses me off even more. now I can't use my small fingers as an excuse anymore
...(continuing) what I'm saying is guys like Romeo and Petrucci (and whoever else) can play and compose a very interesting, powerful melody slow OR fast.
Just in my opinion, some others' showing off (such as Petrucci or Romeo or whoever) still have a strong melodic (or rhythmic, depending on the piece) line and such. Its music, it all comes down to opinion.
Seriously the most underrated guitarist on earth. One of the fucking best!
Yeah man! He's freaking awesome!! He should be waaay more famous than he is... the world is pretty unfair unfortunately
Mark knopfler is very underrated aswell
Yeas ! Yeas! But I was thinking about serious Neoclassicism when I heard the beginning. And this is the first version of the music for the cartoon: film, film film (USSR)?
Romeo is the greatest example of how to be a Neoclassical player without imitating Yngwie.
Juan Alvarez well put, totally agree.
Love your skills brother..
Michael Romeo >>>> Malmsteen
@steve k. and here we have the average salty kiddy dumbass of the day, just my opinion...
@@Madstring They are both great dumbass!
The best guitarist that never gets mentioned. Not under rated but definately over looked. This guy needs more recognition.
"and on the seventh day, God created a machine called Romeo"
+Winter Sun and the machine turns out to be god himself...
nah
Booow doown in the platinim maze
Merciless judgement in the Church of the Machiiine
The guy beneath me is correct. This video is as old as the internet.. yet more impressive than 99% of all its content.
Only when you have completely mastered your guitar can you wear a peasant shirt like Romeo has on...
This vid essentially melts faces.
Relic comment! Are you still alive sir???
Absolutely! Michael pretty much has ALL aspects of guitar covered! He is absolutely amazing!
Still sick as hell. After starting my playing 15 years ago, I still come back to this one time after time.
I saw his guitar chapter videos first when I was 16 or 17 years old, more than 15 years ago, and it all still haunts me to this day, LOL...
Whent the tapping starts at the 6th string you know shit got real
I don't know much about this guy. Ive's said before, and im glad to hear other opinions from Malsteen fans. PLAY LOUD!!!!!!!!!!!
The first time i watched michael romeo was in 2010 and i was so amazed. Until now i keep watching his amazing guitar skills.
Michael Romeu é um monstro na guitarra 🎸
Symphony X is fantastic.
I Love Michael Romeu e Symphony X
he is beyond comparison
it isnt that he is fast
(which he is)
it isnt that he has the most amazing techniques
(although he is close)
but he has a sound all his own too beautiful for words
Un musicien sensationnel
J'adore la fluidité du jeu
Actually I think this guy takes it to the next level - pulls out some cool harmonics and different styles.
Bach be proud.
I love how Michael Romeo isn’t an exact copy of Yngwie. I like his style of neoclassical playing.
Yeap Yngwie is great but it pisses me that he is more famous in Neoclassical playing than Romeo
Saudade dessa época mais clássica com mais teclado e virtuose , que banda , imagina um album atual nessas pegadas bahh seria animal
Who ever does not like this guy............Jealous!!!! No other shredder plays with more melody and fine technique. Many can blister through a million notes, but not with the melody of Michael Romeo!!!!!!!
This video is as old as the internet
At 0:38 sounds like he had some influence from CPE Bach. The piece is Solfeggietto.
Damn right he did! I bet his parents thought that Michael was wasting his time when he locked himself in his room for 8+ hours a day and made a racket!! Look at him now. One of the most respected guitarists around!
Damn, crazy how this video popped up out of nowhere. I used to watch this video a lot
Hey Michael,you wanna go outside?
Nah,I'd rather sit in my house and practice scales
My favorite kind of person
muito massa o solo é incrivel o michel é um dos melhores do mundo sem duvida.
Amazing guitarist, i love Symphony X's music.
me too, man
This guy is the fucking best!!
im thinking of trying this.it looks insanely hard!im 40 and wish i had kept at it when i was younger.if i can just about pull off most of Mr Scary then im gonna try tacke this

perfect guitar playing
The opening riff looks like hes playing twister with just his hands
MJR is a gift for those in the know in metal it doesn't get any better 👌
whats nice about romeo is that he picks a lot of notes, thats the reason why i like him, sounds stronger and has more attack.
Well said!
I play this song... Michael Romeo is a great guitarrist and for me the best...
if i can ever learn this i will know my lifes complete
Michael the meastro Romeo!! :D ... legendary!
I get what you mean! I am really like their newer album "Paradise Lost". It has great song composition, great singing and most of the songs have the musicianship symphony x is known for plus a heavier sound with more hooks.
"THERE IS NO DAMNATION IN CHRIST" ~ ROMANS 8:1
I dont understand how they memorise that . . Those sweeps are INSANE O>O
@dellabona69
This shows us an important idea that there is no "so-called difficulty" in playing or learning guitar and all the other musical instruments as long as we always make an effort on it. MICHAEL'S GREAT!!!
He's awesome player..love it!!
The God of power metal solos !
I adore this guitar player!
His right hand is so smooth
Flawless
MR - best of the best.... even my Guitar teacher said him awesome...
@umbyronco85 già, ma manine piccole significa avere delle dita più "scattanti".

This is a great guitar player with amazing technique!
Thanks for showing it again close up, I needed to be shown again how inept I am at guitaristry.
I just can't get enough of this video.
I was quite impressed by his playing on Paradise Lost by Symphony X.
He has hands like BACH ! Pays like BACH ! He has created his own domain ! MUST be BACH reincarnated :)
It's like Michael Romeo, John Petrucci and Paul Gilbert, then it stops, NO ONE over:D
All my biggest idols lmfao
1:16 holllyyy shitt he traveled the fucking fretboard
Thanks. I looked for any Michael Romeo DVD's and found nothing also. I'll see if I can get it from Google video. I downloaded the Pentatonic Hardcore one from there and that's over an hour long I believe. Thank you much! It's nice to see that people still behave maturely on UA-cam.
Only the realest are watching this still in 2022.
Hell yea lol. He lived next door to a kid in my high school. Apparently they used to jam. I'm in NJ
so clean
@1norville Exactly, there can be no other reason for anyone to dislike this mind blowing performance. Romeo is the epitome of technique and power, among a few others.
Erf, there is too much great guitarists that you can't forget, or even class between them^^
Satriani, Malmsteen, Gilbert, Jason Becker, and others...
Yep, still here.
haha i agree
his right hand though is just as good as his left, he picks almost every note, while if I were to play i would probably tap it...hell even his tapping is amazing. Hes got really good technique, whether it be sweep picking, alternate, economy, w/e he can do it well.

Michael Romeo is very underrated. Guitarist like batio and malmsteen are overrated. Romeo deserves more because he is worthy to be called amazing
the legatto GOD!
@bishopquack Damn right. There isn't an ounce of fat on this dude. Just raw strength and power
@maggotfrom1993 No worries bro.

i love the way he taps, sweet...very unique

by the way I'm not into this kind of music too but he did it so well.
this song is making happy my day .
a friend of mine met him and he said he was a little dude with really tiny hands. the fact that he can do this with those little cocktail wiener fingers pisses me off even more. now I can't use my small fingers as an excuse anymore
The smaller thick fingers have lots of grib and can move faster by nature
romeo just has impeccable technique
A god amongst men
A fucking beast
He proves that shorter fingers are better somehow
My inspiration
*not worthy*
Undebattle best neoclassical guitarist.....shame he is not overrated.....
Fucking yeah!! Romeo totally kicks ass
esp best guitar best promotion of guitar in japan
@guitarnub3 Paul Gilbert is the green lantern and as such stores his power in a big green thingy.
"It's easy see? Just a little of this 'n that"...right! His power level is over fuck'n 9000
I love watching people who know what the fuck they are doing break shit down
Its so Dream T gold era!!!!
