Didn't realize how nostalgic the jokes made me! My favorite book of the month was Hamnet. Was not sure if I would like it, but ended up LOVING it! The biggest surprise though was Carrie Soto is Back by TJR. Wasn't super hyped about it but was still going to read it because it was TJR. And MAN was it good!

    • @user-qu8zs7vs1x

I'm so curious to hear people s reviews of Carrie Soto. I don't know why but it does not sound interesting to me at all, mainly because I didn't really like her character in Malibu Rising, but it's TJR so maybe she'll surprise me?!

    • @caras4766

@@user-qu8zs7vs1x I also feel like the synopsis for Carrie Soto doesn't sound as interesting as her other celebrity-focused novels (partially because I have little to no interest in sports), but I have faith that TJR will be able to make it entertaining! Heard a lot of great reviews for it

thanks for your inside on phantom! i have a complicated relationship with it. the 2000s movie terrified me as a kid and i refused to touch it again until my college got free tickets to a local production and i was like you know what? it’s free. let’s try again. we’re older and wiser, and it’s a stage production so it’ll feel less intense. i was buzzing the rest of the night i was so in love with the music. and now i’m scared to watch the original silent movie or read it because the music adds SO MUCH to the emotional connection. i still want to read it and intended to with you guys (plans changed) but i’m glad to hear there are still things to appreciate while still wishing you were hearing electric guitar and organ along with it.

You have totally inspired me. I have had Hail Mary on my shelf for a year. I love Sci Fi, but just haven't picked it up. I've kind of been on a thriller jag. But, I think I might even read it next. I agree with Hide, I really wanted to love it. I liked it. The biggest thing that I wanted was MORE. So much was only scratching the surface. We have 14 characters and backstories, but we barely go into them. They also barely figure into the story. I thought the twist was kind of generic, almost old school. I was like, "Oh, that's what we're doing here, okay I guess." But, I did also want it to maybe be something different, or more, ha ha. Great wrap up!

Biggest surprise of the month- a promise of fire by Amanda Bouchet. I just wanted a fantasy romance and saw it on book tok, I haven’t read a book in months and it reignited the passion for reading I had in my childhood which I did not expect to happen. I read it in two days (which is crazy for me), read 2 more books that week, and am finally understanding why people on book tube go through books so fast, it’s because they’re reading genres they actually like haha. A promise of fire wasn’t great I’ll be honest. Main character pissed me off a lot, but I forgot the joy of being in a fantasy world and it was my first steamy romance read and I am now transformed

Just want to say what a warm light and comfort your videos are for me, Noelle!
My favourite this month was probably From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs Basil E. Frankweiler - the audiobook for this was phenomenal and the children's dialogue/voices just a joy to listen to! Been in a bit of a slump this month so found myself turning to a lot of children's classics.
Biggest surprise was Juliet Takes a Breath by Gabby Rivera - one of my fave authors and the description for this sounded tailor-made for me, but it just fell flat.
And favourite character has to be Charles Wallace from A Wrinkle In Time!
(Also once again recommending Becky Chambers for sci-fi)

I read 17 books this month!!
favorite book: the house in the cerulean sea (3rd 5 star of the year!)
biggest surprise: swimming in the dark, it was pitched to me like something similar to cmbyn (fav book of all time) so i thought i was going to love it and give it like 4.5-5 stars but it was just meh (gave it 2.5 but two weeks later i remember nothing about it)
favorite fictional character: Lucy from the cerulean sea or nora from book lovers

Viola Davis’ biography was immediately added to my audiobook tbr! Sounds amazing. Also, I’ve had Real Life on my shelves for two (?) years now. Should really pick it up

My biggest surprise was the Wheel of Time series! I started it before and was bleh about how it started… but gave them another chance this month and I’ve read the first three in two weeks 😅
