Adding another point of view. Maybe should have mentioned that Braun Series 7 setup has a hefty price tag of about $288 (Amazon). Was a long time Norelco user (lowest tier model my kids gave me one Christmas about 20 years ago) for over 10 years when I was gifted a Series 7 with the cleaning station (which I felt to be an unnecessary gimmick with questionable benefits...a quick rinse under hot running water is all my original Norelco blades ever needed). Used the Braun for several months but retired it and went back to my old Norelco, and have been using it since (going on 20 years, with the original blades). Never liked the foil heads of the Braun, and especially the annoying buzzing. It's really noisy when I needed to shave in the still of early morning. It's also amazing that the old Norelco NiCad batteries still give me at least 5-6 shaves before needing a recharge.
I've had the series 7 for years now, and it shaves GREAT but the base station seems pretty useless. Doesn't seem to actually clean well at all and the thing still just gets shavings everywhere inside the blades. I'm looking to replace it so I don't have to lug the whole system around with me while I travel.

At least, you should try to compare shavers with the same "trim" level. You are comparing a low end Norelco to a mid to high end Braun. Duh!

Braun shaves quite a bit cost closer but you must shave about every day of you have normal to thick growth.
The cleaner thing looks like more trouble than it is worth. Just rinse under a tap.

Thanks for the review. One question about the Phillips razor. Is the body rubberized at all for a better grip?
I didn't have to watch very long before I realized you favor the Braun shavers and therefore you have a biased view. These are all acceptable shavers.
