I believe the black and white filter used for the gene timeline is to show how boring and mundane his current life is and that he’s dead inside. The only time gene ever sees colour is when he is watching his past life as Saul goodman, the colour is used to represent him feeling alive. I believe that this is why the last episode is in full colour because jimmys cover as “gene” is now blown and he’s now truly on the run as Saul goodman - and he won’t feel much more alive then that

That "Have a nice life Kim!" was eerily similar to Chuck's "You never mattered all that much to me".
You can also see the divergent way that Kim and Jimmy dealt with themselves after they separated. Jimmy filled his life with color, taking the world by the balls, living large and fully embracing his Saul persona. Kim on the other hand lives in obscurity, committed herself to suburban purgatory and mind numbing work in a sprinkler company, she doesn't make decisions and stays irresolute even to the small decision of choosing an ice cream flavor.

David Lynch has done just amazing things, and he has been snubbed. Now they have insane rules that you need to have representation etc. to even get nominated.

Why would he see Kim?? It was her who betrayed their trust, she pushed the scam and didn’t tell him Lalo was alive, then Jimmy sacrifices his life for her and she breaks up with him, leaving him empty and alone. So why would he see Kim when Marion says “I trusted you”? I think it was a reality check for him, seeing how far he’s gone, he remembered when he was just “Jimmy McGill, a lawyer you can trust”

I've come to a different interpretation of the B&W sequences: they represent Jimmy and Kim being in their own personal prisons as the consequences of their actions. I believe now that Kim has confessed to everything, and gone to Cheryl she is finally accepting her responsibility and finding her way out of the prison that she has been in for six years. Jimmy, on the other hand, had only been in his prison for a year, and hasn't found a way out and I find it unlikely that he will.

Your reactions (and your widened eyes) are always incredibly awesome. I love it so much! Thanks for sharing! A great little scene, you unfortunately cut out. It's the immediate moment after the blatant phone call with Jimmy/Saul/Gene, when the tension is at bursting point, when the door opens and the colleague swoops in to say, "Time to sing!" - the double meaning of this sentence is typical for the series, because at that very moment Kim has probably decided that she is going to "sing" to come clean.

    Easter eggs:
#1. Jesse's scene and the blue flower teaser before Nacho's death are the only time in all of Breaking Bad and Saul that it rains.
#2. In Saul's first scene in Breaking Bad, he confuses Badger's case with one involving public urination. Marion says that Jeff was in trouble for public urination.
#3. Kim singing happy birthday is a callback to season 5 when the nursing home made Hector sing happy birthday.
#4. In Jesse's scene the left of the screen is in black and white, as this is the moment all of the color washed away out of Kim's life, she runs out into the rain.

I think she turned all the dirt she had on Jimmy is because she wants him and others to stay alive. She knows too many people have died and the fact Jimmy says Mike is dead (I doubt she cared about Lalo or Fring) really drove the point home that another person trying to protect them both and actually saved Jimmys life in the desert ends up dying because he was someway involved with him. Yes she wants him to pay for his crimes but not in a I am out to get you sort of way but the way of this is the only thing possible to finally stop you and hopefully keep you alive.

I mean is painfully obvious she went to the courthouse and to Howard’s wife to spill the beans on absolutely everything she knows about Saul Goodman. She never wants to be with him romantically ever again and she wants him to turn himself in so he can stay alive. He doesn’t want to so she takes it upon herself to do it for him even if it incriminates her as an accomplice and she also goes to prison. She doesn’t care anymore she wants it to be over for him and her.

My favourite comment that resonated with me was the way the 7 episodes at the start of the season are presented, the Howard take down plan. The plan is shot and viewed like a fun/funny, colourful, wild caper. Then in this episode, exactly what they did or were trying to do to Howard is written down in black and white, showing just how despicable their plan was when it is presented plain and simple in words.
