Maximus is definitely the most complex character among the three mains. He constantly lies, like agreeing to help Lucy even if he had no authority to get the Brotherhood to help. His reason for him joining the Brotherhood; "I want to hurt those who hurt me" feels like a cover.
Yeah, he is so interesting! I thought I could pinpoint his motivation as revenge/faith in the brotherhood, but with all his actions and the constant lies it makes me wonder...
