Which of these lights do you own? Or which one would you pick?
These are all well-known throwers that use different designs to achieve long-distance illumination.
The FC-12 and L8 both use reflectors, while the IF22a uses a TIR lens. There's significantly more spill on these two lights due to the reflectors. The IF22a also has some light spill on medium and high mode. The beam is also nicer to look at - softer and has no rings around the edges.
I was pretty blown away by the performance of the L8. It leaves the others in the dust. But then again, you may not want to carry around a 600+ gram flashlight with you all the time.

Excellent review, many thanks. For 2023, I am going with Wurkkos and recently ordered the FC12, TS22 and HD15. At least I know what to expect with 1 of these lights. Hope to recieve them before the CNY celebrations. Again thanks for the reviews.

I have the FC12 and it's my favorite 18650 pocket light. The Sofirn is C8L is actually my favorite pocket light but it's a 21700 light. It may be bigger than most people would want to EDC but it makes the FC12 seem pretty wimpy when you compare the two. I pretty much wear 511, Blackhawk and Duluths cargo pants so pocket room is no issue. The C8L will fit in most normal jeans pockets I think but you will have a prominent bulge from it.
I'd buy the L8 if it didn't use such hard to find battery. I don't want a light I can't have multiple batteries for. Unfortunately I can't find anywhere I'd trust to buy those giant cells from. Nice review!😊
Yeah, I know what you mean, I have all these larger lights but they're so noticeable in the pocket that I end up grabbing the FC12 or similar light. Lately the Nitecore P23i as well. Larger pockets help though I'm in jeans mostly. I'll do a comparison of the FC12 and S2+ with NM1 soon, think they're in a similar league.

What scenic city is this? Also thx for the comparision. I think I would go for the if22a if i had to choose between these three. Comparing the sofirn sc31t to the fc12, the fc12 has the more nicer looking view.
Hi Sebastian, this is Melbourne, where I live :) I carry the FC-12 around mostly as it takes up the least room in my pocket. But if you don't mind the pocket bump, IF22a outperforms in almost every way except for spill. What are you using it for?
@@DarrenYeoYT I already have the SC31T and it is my go to for taking a walk or riding my bike in the rural area. The FC12 doesnt look that much different to the SC31T so I dont think im going to buy it. Although the beam looks better on the FC12. But the IF22a looks fun for looking further into the distance without having a huge bulky lights like the SP70 or or SP36 or the Convoy L8. I don't think its going to be useful for biking or walking.. Just me starting to become a Flashoholic.
Haha. Flashlights are a strange thing to get obsessed with.. But it is what it is. The FC12 has a sft40 emitter, produces more lumens and throws further. But overall output is similar to the sc31t. I find the slim reflector lights more comfortable to carry in a pocket, so willing to sacrifice some throw for EDC.
@@DarrenYeoYT You are right about that, being a weird thing to get into. Since the early 90s I've been obsessed. I keep a sofirn IF22A and a convoy S2+ sst40 for edc. Whenever the need to pull one out people's minds are blown at the amount of power these things produce. If you aren't into flashlights, seeing these things compared to say a dolphin 9v torch from 30 years ago really is amazing.
@@simsalviaexperience4109 early 90s is close to when I was born haha. I have an old Maglite solitaire that my dad got me when I was 12. Has one of those filament bulbs and surprisingly still works. Compared to what we have available now LED wise, it's incredible. Have you tried the cslnm1.tg emitter?

Yes was in turbo. The others are more powerful in comparison though.
