Tremont Road - Townsend, TN

Tremont Road is a best kept secret ride in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. Located inside the park off Laurel Creek Road (the road to Cades Cove). A road less traveled making it a very peaceful ride as it follows the Middle Prong Little River. The first 2 miles are beautifully paved followed by another 3 miles gravel. At the top, hiking and equestrian are allowed to continue past the trestle, but no cycling. No bother, as you have that wonderful 5 mile downhill ride on the return trip.

are there any drop offs on this route? I have bad vertigo and get dizy while driving in the mountains if there are drop offs i can see

There are not any severe drop offs along the way, but the stream does run along and below the road most of its length. It's a very calming ride.

@@rollingreclinerRecumbent So glad to see this video. Been to the Smokies many times over the years as we have a family cabin near Green Brier on the LIttle Pigeon River. Tremont is a bit of a drive from Greenbrier, but since I'm getting a trike in September (Hase Kettwiesl EVO with EP8 Steps) it would be well worth the drive to ride Tremont Road... and the very beautiful Cades Cove.
