How Much Do MBBS/Junior Doctors Earn in India? | My Salary, Job Offers and Opportunities.
Вставка
- Опубліковано 4 сер 2024
- Hey friends!👋 In this video, I discuss how much money Junior/MBBS doctors make in different jobs in different sectors in India. I have had four different jobs in four sectors, so I'll be using my own example, telling you how much I got paid in these different sectors. I also discuss the job offers I had, which I didn't take up, just to give you an idea of how being in a certain sector determines Doctors' pay.
In case you didn't know, MBBS is the primary medical degree in most of the Commonwealth countries, and is equivalent to the US M.D degree. M.D degree in India, however, is a post-graduate qualification equivalent to the US Residency.

Who am I?👨⚕️
Hi, My name is Ajay. I'm a GP from Bangalore, India.🇮🇳 I believe in preventive medicine over curative medicine. I post videos every Wednesday at 4pm IST about health, lifestyle, and some medical entertainment peppered in-between.

Hey friends!👋🏼 Talking about salaries and stuff is still quite a taboo subject among most medical professionals. But, hopefully this video helps people to know what they can expect once they finish their medical degree and what sort of job opportunities they’ll have. 🤔
If you’re a NEET aspirant and you’re getting into the field of medicine to “make money”, it’s a pretty bad decision. If you pour in your energy into starting and running a business for 5.5+ years, you’ll probably make 10X more🤑 Heck, if you start a UA-cam channel and upload fairly regularly for 5+ years you can probably make even more!🤯
But, this profession offers unparalleled job satisfaction, being part of people’s lives in a way no one else can AND has probably the best job stability in the world and I wouldn’t swap my job with anyone else’s😁
So, if you want to make money, don’t even consider this. If you want to get into medicine for the love of it, it’s probably the best thing ever. And you’ll always make ENOUGH money, so don’t worry about that 😀

@Adinath PATIL tum tho andolanjiwi nikle 🤣😅
Dude we're paid only 2000 rupees. Even if we stay outside or stay in hostel
@deepak martin tomy Hey can you please tell me if doing mbbs from a private college or a government college matter? R u sure of the government job opportunities if you are from a private medical college?
@@crazyninja2954 Nope. It doesn't matter. Except maybe, AIIMS, JIPMER and all, MBBS from any college in India holds the same value. No matter how much marks you get, how many attempts you take, which university, MBBS has the same value.
But, during internship, it's better to do it in a very busy hospital / institution as that is the year when we learn to actually do the works of a Doctor. If not doing, atleast learning 'Doctor work' from others. We have the option to change internship place, after passing final year, depending on the rules of our college and NMC.
Job opportunities of any MBBS graduate remains the same. Nobody looks at the mark or college when looking for MBBS graduates. They only look if you are good in the job. India only has around 100 doctors per 1 lakh population.
Government Doctor job depends on availability or PSC exams.

Sir we want another video like this on the topic salary of doctors after pg in India.
exactly the data i was looking for..!!
Can u please explain how a fresh med grad can take up central government jobs? Like through an entrance or direct placements?
Presumably this is all pre-tax pay, of your salary how much gets taken out as tax?
Taxes are quite complicated here. So basically 10% of your salary gets deducted as TDS. If your income doesn't cross around ₹5lakhs (not sure about the exact amount), you'll get all the TDS back at the end of the year. If you earn more than 5lakhs, there are multiple tax brackets. Last year since I worked only for 3 months, I got the TDS back.
Honestly, I'm not very sure how taxes work here. It's not as straightforward as it is in the UK
And yeah everything I mentioned here is pre-tax..
That does sound really complicated 😅
And we the BHMS graduates, are always out of jobs, and no one is willing to pay us only for learning homoeopathy..but if you want to earn handsome money, you have to learn allopathic medicine (which they don't teach in homoeopathic medical Colleges)
Thank u..... Bhaia...☺️☺️☺️❤️🤘

Well said doctor A
I have joined MBBS this year. Is study very difficult? How many hours to study?
Congrats, Chayan! You’ll probably need to dedicate 2-3h/day. If you study regularly, you’ll enjoy the course very well :)
My opinion differs... Ask yourself how can you manage. Regarding RGUHS I studied. Just for last 40-45 days for university and passed it quite easily.
Buy my knowledge is limited to exam questions only. And talk to your seniors regarding the books to refer... It is very important to get proper books to study as per your requirement.
Well , first of all welcome to this noble profession. Alot of misconception that people have is that you have to study long hours daily while you are in medical school. That is completely wrong because it is humanly not possible to study 8-10 hours daily in medical school. You will either end up depressed or you will burn out completelly. Understand that medical school will be the best time of your life. So while you study it is also important to evlove as a person. . Dedicate a good 2-3 hours FOCUSED ( meaning no phones , no youtube ) atleast. Then give your self a weekend off . work out and you will do fine
I am going to enter medical clg after few months,ur videos motivate me lot.
Thanks sir..

I don't know why are you misguiding about income in private practice...A doctor's fee is at least 300 rupees per person and he examine at least 50 patients in a day, 25 patients in the morning and 25 patients in the evening. In this way, his minimum earning in a month is 300x60x30 = 5,40,000. Although a few number of doctors is available whose fees is 300...
BHAI TU BOL RAHA HAI PRIVATE PRACTICE KE BARE ME. DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MUCH INVESTMENT IS NEEDED FOR DOING PRIVATE PRACTICE. ACCORDING TO YOU, A DOCTOR WILL GET 50 TO 60 PATIENTS PER DAY. FOR THAT A DOCTOR WOULD NEED TO ESTABLISHED HIS CLINIC IN BIG CITY. INVESTMENT IN LAKHS OR EVEN IN CRORES IS NEEDED. IF YOU DONT BELIEVE ME , YOU CAN ASK ANY DOCTOR WHO IS HAVE CLINIC IN CITY. EVERYONE CANT AFFORD THIS MUCH INVESTMENT.AUR CLINIC KHOLNE KE BAAD, STARTING ME KOI PATIENTS NAHI ATE. YOU HAVE TO MAKE YOUR IDENTITY. AND GETTING 50 TO 60 PATIENTS IN A DAY YOU NEED TO BE POPULAR, SKILLED AND EXPERIENCED DOCTOR AND THAT TAKES LOTS OF YEARS. AND AGAIN YOU DONT BELIEVE ME YOU CAN ASK THIS QUESTION TO A DOCTOR. AND THANKS FOR READING TILL THIS LINE.😇
