I decided to voiceover for this one, so don’t mind my annoying voice.
I recommend you do not go visit Cyprus’ channel, don’t give her any attention.
This video was made by me, Willow. An LGBTQ+ community member, and a former Cyprus fan (A year ago).
As soon as I found out she was homophobic I unsubscribed.
I should have made this video a year ago, but I was too scared.
With the encouragement of my dear friends, I was able to build up the courage to make this!

With the glorybinger shipping tui did not mean for the big age gap although she could be just changed it, she would have to make a public announcement and republish books which could cost a ton.
With the age gap lemme go into a quick discussion on how the ages work from my knowledge
From 0-8 DYO [Dragon years] would equal to about 3 HYO [human years] per 1DYO so by six a dragonet is a immature adult [scientifically fully mature adults in humans occur at 21, but legally 18 is the "adult" age]. After a dragon turns 8 they only grow by one human year [basing off the maturity of characters 8-20] for example deathbringer is 16? I believe he sounds mature enough to be an adult but he wouldn't be 40-60 as people predict
Another example is the sisters, they are about 24-40 dyo? Their maturities range from middle age to 50 ish human years but if we are still counting by 3s they would assumingly be over 100 hyo
Now deathbringer would be about an adult while glory would be a newly adult. Although the flirting was very wrong they didn't get together until glory was 7 right? So she would've been 21 by then
This is in no way supporting the ship this is just my take on the age system as it is quite confusing
ALSO a lot of people still don't know about glorybingers age gap so that could be a misconception!!

This is very well made, Willow. As a person of faith myself (I believe in god n all that but refuse to associate with the religious community from which all the toxicity comes from) all I had to do was open my mind a little bit. It showed me just how manipulative people can be. In fact, my parents are trying to kick me out of my house and tell me I'm in an incestuous relationship with my sister, just because we both support gay/trans rights. That I'm hellbound and full of hate, and that 2 billion people in the world at least hate me as well. I'm not even gay, nor trans. And I'll warn you Willow; I love the fact you included articles.
I agree with every point you made. But a lot of people don't like to listen to evidence. People who hate the sin but love the sinner are hellbent on being perceived as a "loving person" and will absolutely FLIP OUT if you tell them the truth, which is that they are hateful. My parents didn't care when I told them most LGBT+ youth are suicidal, and resorted to mocking me and telling me that god was trying to purge the gay out of me and was trying to give me thoughts to destroy myself.
Though it doesn't have much to do with the video, people are so unbelievably cruel about this topic. I hope Cyprus can learn but I dont have high hopes. She is a bigot and I've never met a bigot that will sit down with an open mind and listen. Thanks for bringing this up, Willow. Were I still involved in the fandom and still had a thousand subs, I would share it.

immediately when Cyprus said she doesn't support Sunlow because she is Catholic I was about to laugh, Im a catholic myself, go tot church do all of it and yet, me and my family completely support the LGBTQ+ community, I honestly think it was just a cover up for blatant homophobia ngl Im sick of people using their religions as an excuse

Before I saw this video I use to support Cyprus, it makes me so sad that they use religion to be a shield for being homophobic. When they made their animation of deathbringer and glory it made me really uncomfortable because the age gap between them. Thank you for informing me on this situation. I won’t go hate on Cyprus because you know, that’s not very kind and it’s quite irresponsible. I’m going to just not support that you tuber anymore.
I didn’t know anything about this. In fact Cyprus used to be one of my favorite youtubers..of course now that I’ve watched this video I don’t support them. I’m extremely disappointed that this kind of stuff is going on in the WoF community, a community I thought to be very kind and unproblematic. I had not much information on this until now, thank you for making this video willow. And the art is good as always! And yes the glorybringer ship has always set me off with the ages and I agree with you on the weirdness with the ship and the problem with the age gaps. Though I don’t know much about Cyprus it is good to know this. Thank you Willow.

Oh yikes, I usually don't like to comment on drama but this is more than just drama at this point. People using religion to justify being homophobic is just....disgusting, I have religious friends and they're perfectly fine with me being pansexual. You shouldn't use religion against minority groups of any kind. And this has probably been said but they took one line out of a few (mistranslated) books to oppress an entire group of people for years. The bible says you can't do a lot of things, and I bet those lines are ignored and people go ahead and do them anyways. As for the ship, as someone who is triggered (even looking at ship art can give me a panic attack, depending on the day, though I feel the need to say it's not because of trauma to my knowledge, I'm just sensitive to these topics) by p*dophelic ships or ships that could be considered such Its not out of the realm of possibility that she simply didn't know about the age gap. Hell, before a few months ago I wasn't aware either. Not defending it at all, it's weird, but that's my take on it. If she did know that kinda weird though. Sorry this is so long and I probably didn't explain my points well

*1). Homophobia*
Generally I don't regard Cyprus as homophobic, but it is *very* wrong that she uses her religious excuse against it, I am not religious andI do not hate nor love a particular religion. But using beliefs to excuse yourself for hating a topic many dearly admire is just...*wrong.* I don't care if you are not part of LGBTQ but I absolutely do not appreciate if you defend yourself because of ' religion '. What Cyprus is doing is basically pulling down one belief and making room for another. I'm fine if she believes it, but don't take it out on people.
*2). Pedophilia*
Glorybringer is honestly one of the worst ships. Sure it's not pedophilia *anymore*, but it started off with Deathbringer seducing a *CHILD*. YES, A CHILD. This is honestly very wrong, and you can tell that Glory didn't like Deathbringer yet, but of course Deathbringer *had* to be a ' knight in shining armour ' and seduce his queen. Deathbringer is cool yes, but he's a predator wether you like it or not.
*3). Unhealthy opinions*
Opinions are great! But I figure you should not like it for a valid reason, not homophobia of course. Her unhealthy attachment to Glorybringer is concerning, she is dedicating so much of her skills and art to it.
*My message to Cyprus*
Cyprus, your art is very very good and cute, but I feel you use it for bad things occasionally. It's fine if you ship Glorybringer, but I want you to understand that it is legally wrong. I don't need you to follow my opinion, but I want you to understand It and *not* turn it down. I also want you to understand that religion is NOT a valid reason to do or not do something. Not caring about LGBTQ is fine, but turning it down and stepping on it because of ' religion 'is just sad and offensive.

I’ve recently been very confused with the Cyprus situation in the wof community. I used to be a really big fan of hers, and I never really thought of the age gap problem with glorybringer, and whenever it was brought up, I’d usually say it was because of the difference in dragon years. I’ve really only seen one screenshot of her being homophobic. I am a part of the lgbtq+ community, and I understand what it’s like to be in a community where you aren’t accepted. I don’t watch her livestreams, so I had no idea how bad it got. The only evidence I had was one screenshot and at the bottom she apologized and said she didn’t know bc she was drawing. Like I said, I’ve never been on one of her livestreams, so I never thought about the mods. The first time I heard of the Cyrus situation was during the beginning of my coming out journey. I hadn’t fully accepted the fact I was queer so I thought it was perfectly reasonable and ignored it. I regret having done that for so long. Cyrus claims to not support gay people based off her religion, but yet she still loves characters who murder and fight and kill and lie. She claims not to be able to support the queer characters in WOF bc they are gay, yet she loves all over characters who violate the 10 commandments in the Bible. If she can support deathbringer, whose whole job is to kill steal and lie, she can support sundew, willow and anemone.

I do not have any hate toward you, Willow, OR Cyprus. I kinda feel like people are making a huge deal over just some book ship. I personally am okay with Glorybringer (While my favorite ship is Sunlow), perhaps to Cyprus they’re just fun to DRAW. I do recall she said that she does favor Enemies to Lover ships. I’ve been a long time fan of Cyprus, and she hasn’t said anything rude or homophobic. I do have mixed feelings about this topic to, and I HIGHLY dislike homophobia, as I’m a proud supporter of the LGBT community! In the end, I just believe that everyone should have their own opinions, and that no one should force anyone to do bad things. Perhaps the fact that Cyprus is a person of religion that would have something to do with it? I will not be unsubscribing to anyone~
What she said was homophobic, as an LGBTQ+ community member, I have dealt with plenty of homophobes.
The fact that she’s Christian shouldn’t used be an excuse in her case.
There are so many things in the bible that are overlooked, like for example, Remarriage and getting Divorced are both frowned upon in the bible, but yet so many people do it- so why do people care so much about a few lines in a book made thousands of years ago that were most likely just badly translated (article link in desc.)?
Not to mention that I know a lot of LGBTQ+ members who are Christian, and Allies who are Christian.

Glory is legally (in the dragon world lol) an adult, 7, by the epilogue of the bright est night, but that doesn't change the fact that deathbringer quite literally twice her age (pretty much).
People can try to justify as much as they want, but if 7 dragon years is 18 in human, that means Glory's 18 while deathbringer is over 30. That's messed up as heck.
It could very much be that Cyprus wasn't aware of the age gap, so maybe letting them know would be a good idea.
Umm... thank you for talking about this, I was actually not aware of this... this is kinda weird, I'm going to try and distance myself from her content a little bit, she's a good artist, but this is too much for me to feel as safe in her community as a queer person, I think that it's really important to push back against these type of homophobic views.

I know I’m out of the blue but agree with a good bit but also don’t know what to say. I’m Christian myself and I’d hate myself if I didn’t support everyone in there opinions and there beliefs. The problem with us Christians is that there’s too many of us who think we have to follow the Bible’s every step and way. When in my opinion half the Bible is wrong. Like idk being stoned to death doesn’t sound fun. Just everyone should support who they are and what they do. And yes litterly seems like half of us Christians are eaither needing others to follow and be Christian or are nice.
