    I drive one of these. Corsa D, 1.4, 90 horse power, year 2007. It's my first car, I have it since last year. I really like it.

      @Test Drive Hero Also I suggest you hit the rev limiter one time in every gear , this would be the best way to do the 0 - 100 acceleration and get good results 👍🏻.

    • @testdrivehero
      @testdrivehero  Рік тому

      @@user-qm1ri7fg7h That's not always the quickest way, some engines lose power on the last rpms and touch the rev limit can decrease the 0-100 :)

      @@testdrivehero If it is a diesel engine yes you are right , you don't need to rev all the way , but for most gasoline engines reving all the way helps, anyways awesome videos ! keep it going and be safe .

    Nice! Glad you didn't pick the 1.2, the slowest engine ever. But apparently its insanely economical haha

    • @testdrivehero
      @testdrivehero  Рік тому +1

      The 1.4 runs OK but you need to stay on high rpm to do something😂
      I don't want to know the 1.2 response if the 1.4 is like this hahaha

    • @catalinmihailescu
      @catalinmihailescu Рік тому +4

      Like I said in another comment, I have a 1.4. At first I was changing gears around 2500 rpm and mantain the speed around 2000 rpm. Man, this way my engine used to consume a lot of fuel. Now, I change gears around 3000-3500 rpm and mantain around 2500. It feels SO much better, now the fuel consumption is ok and has enough power. Sure, it makes a little bit too much noise, but I like it this way.

      @@catalinmihailescu Does your car consume more fuel with lower RPM? In theory lower RPM means less fuel gets burned because the power output is also lower.

    • @catalinmihailescu
      @catalinmihailescu Рік тому

      @@antonsmulders1114 I drive a petrol car. First, I used to drive it with low rpm, because well, this is how I learned in driving school, by I was shocked by fuel consumption. Then, I started to read, ask, and many said that my car ( corsa D, 1.4, petrol ) requires to be driven with high rpm, go as fast as you can on desired speed and then just mantain it. Since then, I do this all the time and my car doesn't consume as much fuel as before. But hey, I'm not an expert, nobody in my family or friends got cars, so nobody there to advice me. My car is from 2007, and being my first one, driving it from last year, I try to see what's going best for it. And for now, this is the best option.

    • @corsik737
      @corsik737 Рік тому +1

      @@testdrivehero yes, I know about 11,9, I know everything about this car :) However she shows better results than they claimed. A little slippage could be on start but you had too much of it so you could perform start quicker. You spent some time on shifting and did it a little bit early, you have to shift exactly on 6K and it's better to display the digital tachometer on a dashboard cuz analogue shows more than it is, so you shifted like 5,8-5,9K. And maybe the conditions weren't perfect. And you can measure the speed with the digital speedometer, as it shows the exact value from wheel spinning sensors and the analogue one shows data from the sensors +5 km/h. So in fact you didn't even reach 100 cuz while analogue speedometer showed you 100, it was 95 in fact :) Well, with GPS you can achieve 11,4 but it's not precise data cuz GPS have a small lag, if you use data from the digital speedometer and stop the stopwatch even on 101-102 if conditions are good, if car is in good condition, and you performed well, then it will be like 10,8s. It's the result I got on my 5-door Corsa D with the same engine A14XER, F13+CR gearbox and 185/65 R15 wheels 😉
      P.S. I know it's hard to keep an eye on digital data because it's changing very quickly so you have to know the position of arrows of analogue gauges and how they're related to the real data. For example to get 6K rpm you need nearly to touch the red zone with the bottom side of the arrow.
      P.P.S From Italian "Corsa" translates as "race" and of course she's named like that for a reason 😉

      @@corsik737 Haha as you might know, I'm testing different cars every week, and before that I run few days driving to know a little bit the car.
      Also yes the tachometer indicates more than real speed so it could be a little more than the 12.05s I did haha
      Thanks for comment!

      @@testdrivehero Sure, I see that you're not driving her for the first time but it's also understandable that you didn't do it appropriately, I mean you and car most likely are not prepared for it, you did it for fun only, it's okay, nice content. It's like "raw 0-100", also good one 😉 By the way sometimes it happens that you don't want to beat any record, just do 0-100 for training, and accidentally get a nice result 😂 Thank you for your work on a video with my favourite babe 😉
