Around in Circles: The Real Problem with Global Warming - An Essay by Justin Yapp

Hello everyone, I am Justin Yapp, filmmaker, entrepreneur and outdoor enthusiasts. As I am sure you may have already guessed or discovered, I have a lot of other youtube videos and have been doing this for over a decade now.
Today’s video is used to introduce you all to an editorial essay I wrote on Global Warming/Climate Change. I think that, unlike a lot of other papers written on global warming, you will find that I am not beating the drum of, is it real or not. That meaningless debate has been discussed for far too long and instead, I have chosen to move the conversation forward and looking at the future of our planet with Climate Change at our side. My essay takes the position of, Climate Change is already here and upon us, so what are we going to do about it? This has always been a huge passion of mine and a topic that really should be on top of everyone’s mind.
Anyone of you, who has already accepted global warming or climate change as real and wish to see actions take place to solve the problem, will enjoy reading my paper. I am positive that you will benefit from reading it and that at the very least, it will have you thinking about the environment and how you can make change happen easier than you think.
For years you have seen and heard the deniers use excuses, such as, it will cost us too much to change, or that the world is too big for us to have that big of an impact on it or that we are just one country and it won’t make a difference.
Fast forward to 2017 and we can honestly say that is all bullshit because Renewable energies have now passed fossil fuels in affordability and are cheaper than ever with prices only going down from here. Furthermore, The rest of the world has already signed a pact stating they will all make an effort to combat global warming and Climate Change as a whole.
My essay breaks down what those changes could look like and ways to start making immediate adjustments to our civilizations so we can coexist with nature. These are not all new ideas or topics that haven’t been discussed elsewhere, but what I really bring home to the viewer, is that it really does come down to the individuals and that should motivate everyone to do their part.
Self-efficiency on a micro level but at a global scale is what I try to get the reader to think about. If every building and home can support itself with it’s own power, provide space to grow foods and incorporate it’s own waste management systems, then we have already accomplished our goal of a future where mankind lives among nature versus trying to dominate it and damage it.
