It's a testament to this game that someone who reviews/ plays games for a living can take 'time out' and just chill and enjoy it. As someone who makes music for a living I can assure you when your passion becomes your job it takes something special to stand out and appeal to your original passion above the saturation.

Nah you won't get far without a guide. You are trying to discover what took the community years by yourself. It's like trying to learn physics from experimenting without knowing any experiments cos you refuse to read books.

For someone just getting into the game and getting their first character through the Acts, guides and backseat gaming aren't necessary. If someone WANTS to become invested in the game, they'll go looking themselves.

Josh, what you're describing is called the Dunning-Kruger effect.
The Dunning-Kruger effect is usually defined specifically for the self-assessments of people with a low level of competence.[8][2][9] But some theorists do not restrict it to the bias of people with low skill, also discussing the reverse effect, i.e., the tendency of highly skilled people to underestimate their abilities relative to the abilities of others.[3][5][9] In this case, the source of the error may not be the self-assessment of one's skills, but an overly positive assessment of the skills of others.

So being a new YTer, I decided to do my first EVER blind playthrough with BG3. What the holy heck was I thinking! Maybe someday I'll be a mini-Josh and can choose to have the option to play an amazing game off-screen to savor it. NICE new chair, Josh! It looks mega-comfy. I just got a new one but it wasn't free. I think I'm having Josh-envy today.

[2:09] In the UK Christmas actually lost ground as Halloween became more popular. Christmas used to start in early October, in the early 1990s at least. Back then, Halloween was barely a thing. Yes we did the trick or treat thing, but it was something kids just did on their own, mostly for the "trick" part because most people would tell them to f off. Wearing costumes, and young kids being escorted by parents was rare. There were almost no Halloween decorations in shops. Since we didn't have Thanksgiving as another barrier, Christmas was starting earlier and earlier, with decorations in shopping centers going up October 1. Halloween disrupted that for a number of years, but with the retail economy being on life support since Covid, I wouldn't be surprised if there's not Christmas - or at least some holiday - almost every month of the year (which is what the US is like).

Something I realized while working in theater is: amongst 'the talent', there's confidence, there's arrogance and there's narcissism. A small minority of the 'talent' are flat-out arrogant. Fewer-still are genuinely confident. And the rest probably belong somewhere on the fringes of the remaining category. I also never understood why they were referred to as 'the talent', when they're some of the most talent-less people I've ever met; literally inept, outside of pretending to be something they're not, and sponging-up praise they probably don't deserve.

I used to care about other people safety XD

I think the word "content" is used too often to rationalize the existence of vapid garbage. I like what you put out, so I watch it. No need to over-think it. No need to think in platitudes. Social media is inevitable. We are the most social animal on the planet and communicating and keeping track of each other is very deeply encoded in us. It's up to us to push back against the forces which are making social media bad and turn it into something good. Ironically, the thing making it bad is also us. Social media is, like so many other inventions, just a tool. We're the problem, and the solution.
