Great video Mark. I like that you showed us the "bad" shots, however I didn't see many keepers. Typical mid day, harsh light. One of the advantages of going with someone, Mare in this case, is the ability to see what they are seeing. How many times have I overlooked a shot because for whatever reason, I wasn't looking.
Nice episode Mark, yes there is nothing like shooting in harsh light. It makes the photography that much rewarding when you get a few keepers. Looks like a great place for a fall visit or even a winter shoot. Good to see you relaxing for once.
Thanks Mark. It was rewarding for sure. I didn't think I had any keepers for the video and almost scratched both episodes. Sam Carr convinced me otherwise!
More to come Bruce. I'm finding I have to continually push myself to find photographs. It's not like visiting a NP or spectacular landscape, so the extra effort is honing my composition skills.
Rick, I couldn't believe I was able to use that photo. The light was harsh on location and I thought for sure I'd get home and delete it. The results proved me wrong. I too liked this image.
Great episode Mark. Gotta have me some of your eggs and bacon someday😂 beautiful camp and what a day! I think harsh lighting actually has its charms and can work in certain locations, especially on the darker shadows. Your shot around the 4:00 mark was beautiful, lucky your partner got immersed in it! Thanks for sharing. Enjoyed this one.
Many thanks, Keith! I learned a few things shooting in harsh light during this shoot, for one, don't doubt that there's no shot. Take the camera out of the bag and shoot regardless, you may just find yourself surprised.
Once again, great stuff. Love the image at 4:42, reminds me of a cascade you see in a slot canyon in Utah. I camped in Macedonia Brook SP in the Spring two years ago. Can't be sure but it very well could have been the same site you used.

... and one of the benefits of shooting alongside friends and sharing thoughts and locations.
I’m late, better late than not at all! 🙃I’ve always liked that small city! You brought back memories. Enjoyed it very much. Great job!❤
Yes, this trip was overdue. It was nice spending several days there rather than just an afternoon.

Another great video, Mark. I like this overnight landscape photography series you have created. It’s nice to see the vision you had come to life 👍

Aside from the image at 4:42, I really enjoyed the view of you shooting through the window formed by the guardrail and railing on that bridge. 😊

Very cool! Macedonia is in my top 3 for CT State Park Camping, Housatonic as well. I think it was site 44. I'll be going back for sure!
