Shae's fancy fog lights are PerLux fog lights. Brightest lights you could buy in the 70's early 80's.Real glass with metal fins to spread the light. They ran too hot and glass would crack.Great video Mike, thanks.

Generations of drivers. When union's meant something where skilled trades and truck drivers , the real working men were in unions. These days a data entry keyboard operator is a union job. It makes it tough for the old school guys to see. You bring generational truckers who spent their lives behind the wheel bringing us goods and services just a little justice for all they have done. I think people appreciate you more than you realize Mike. Keep it up and thank you.

Looks like our club meetings. I think we can squeeze you in n/c! When you're in the Chicago area stop on by. Guess I'm a mid-school trucker, L9 Cummins, oil dip stick drivers side towards the front corner. Not allowed on property after hours, it's considered trespassing. These old school truckers are awesome!💪👍

the ole gmc is a 9 speed i beleive. there was no 5 to 6 shift. back toward the driver. you noticed when i did. good job mike thanx for a great video!!!

Liked the LJ my dad had one had 707 gas with five speed and duplex.Great truck .we were from Springfield he would only have Mack’s and Autocars .Enjoyed the video!!!

Now this is the way it should still be, I love all the old stories as I've been trucking for close to 50 years and 4th generation, I miss having conversations with fellow old school drivers, this fellow is correct, these steering wheel holders of today have it so good but can always find a negative and only if they knew what it used to be like, I'm glad I learned and started out on old trucks back then it didn't matter what type of truck it was they were all head turners.
Never ever say no to one of those Old guys when they ask you to go for a ride. I'm 62 now and a NJ guy who has been out of the business for 2 years after driving for 38 years. I'm feeling the history and the power on the ride. He's probably skipping a couple gears! So do you and so have I. Love your videos and I don't know anyone and feel I've known everyone for my entire life. Thanks Mike. Thank you so much for so much.

Hey BostonTrucker...every time you do an interview video, I comment, "that is the best!" Well...THIS one came "out of nowhere", and -- you got it -- THIS one is -- by far -- the BEST!" That stroll thru the Mack "graveyard" was somethin' else (models I never imagined), that cab ride with Eddie Shea in his GMC was phenomenal (where's Dane Scott when we need him??), and your closing segment in the garage with those gorgeous preserved Macks was the "icing on the cake". This, my friend, was reason to "give thanks" on this 🦃Holiday weekend...👏👏

Mike just watched one of your snow plow video I’m surprised you guys didn’t know the trick to keeping your windshield from icing up so what I did was raise the hood and space it up a little with a couple pieces of mud flap about two to four inches square on top of the cowl and latch the hood. The heat from the engine keeps your windshield nice and clean and your wipers work nice
That's fascinating actually! I've never heard of this being done!
Or as an old trucker once told me, keep the floor heat on just and I mean just enough your not cold and that keeps the windshield as cold as the outside and the snow just bounces off 👍

Great video Mike! Totally understand where the guys come from about new drivers. They may not know where something is, but here’s a question. Who’s teaching them? If the older drivers or guys who have been around for a while don’t teach the rookies then how will they learn the right way? I’m all for self-initiative and making it a priority to learn by yourself but you can’t expect young drivers to learn if they were never taught! Just something to think about.
When I was coming up I learned from watching and listening to the old timers!
Torsion bar was a great suspension ride was really good but they became expensive to work on.

Yeah, I watched Dane Scott before your video today. It's Sunday afternoon. I'll watch Dominique and Just 4 Trucks and probably Life On 18 Wheels. That's it. FSC and Trucking with Rex tomorrow. That's it for the week. Pebidee was what I hear up there on WBZN . It's as bad as Bimbo bakery's telling the world its ""B""-embo! Whatever! When we first started picking up sugar for them and delivering to the bakeries they set us straight. Bimbo is a bizillion dollar Co based in Mexico. Uh huh. When we bought some Hyundai trailers brand new? They were made in Mexico and we asked if they shipped them here on the railroad? Oh no. They are USED as one ways loaded up with Toshiba electronics made in Tijuana and delivered to the USA . Sorry, I went off in a different direction! It's the Old timers kicking in! With chain drive trucks, depending on what job you were on. You could change the " gear ratio " by putting on a bigger or smaller sprocket. Small sprocket for speed, big sprocket for big hill or hard climbing

Your burned up KW should end up being the base for something like that GMC.
Those B-815s are neat, not many of those early Mack V-8s lived, most of those trucks got repowered. Before I bought my building there was a DM-800 in the yard that was origionally bought with a V-8 Mack. They had so much trouble with it, that it got sent back to Mack and they repowered it with a 1693 CAT under warranty. Last I know of Joseph Equipment had it
