Medieval 2 really does have the best mods out of all the Total Wars
Medieval 2 shines in these small condensed map mods like broken crescent and tsardoms unlike newer total wars. and with the relatively new settlement creation system by the modders where you can literally create a new settlement mid game, the mods will take another new level in term of gameplay and give it a different fresh air to any other total war game.
How do you create a new settlement?
@@M2B30 there's a relatively new feature being modded is that you can create a settlement by creating a fort, basically you can name your fort, construct buildings, recruit, have its own economy and public order, so basically a mini settlement.
I'm surprised you didn't know about this mod. It's one of my favourites.
Yeah never knew dude, just been playing it these last few weeks. Loving it!
It's an oldie but goodie been overshadowed by other popular Med 2 mods for a long time.
i love how you cover old TWs and not abandoning them i hope you get much bigger audience my friend
He will. Modern total war games are horsesht tier
I pray CA make Medieval II Remastered. I want this game modernized so much!!
I'm sure they will, almost no work required of CA but they'll split the revenue with Sega/Feral/Steam . Allowing the game to use more RAM and work with newer CPU's and OS will definitely help and removing as many hardcoded options as possible.
@ That would be great! I love Rome Remastered specially playing with unit size set to extreme. It’s so awesome having thousands of soldiers fighting battles.
I’m playing the Western Roman Empire right now in Barbarian invasion and it’s crazy to see so many soldiers fighting at the same time.
@@Eternallegacy1 I've put 1000's of hours into it mostly with RIS, just finished East Rome in the Scorched Ground mod, check that out if you like BI and also Tetrachy TW.
RR mods like EB and RIS and 77BC are great.
I always use Extreme size but the drawback is pathfinding especially on walls as only 1 model can enter towers to go up or down.
that would honestly bring total war back into frame. they shouldn't even release new franchises anymore, they should just remaster or continue preexisting franchises. A mtw 2 remastered-- where they actually learn from the flaws of the raw remastered would be a masterclass... especially if they add efficiency for those that mod.
@@Insanestsage I agree, until CA are confident enough that they can give "us" the customer/fans what we want ( and they have 20 years of data to go off ) they should just Remaster the whole catalogue, adding more MP ( i'm not MP ) and mobile versions.
Also drop the YT partner programm and allow a free tutorial for pre-orders a week before release.
The YT partners have never been accurate in their descriptions of the games going all the way back to Rome 2.
The _Wings of Gabriel_ tho. What a choice for menu music.💯
As a Levantine i believe that modders may put more efforts on adding more settlements/provinces in the Levant. with balanced enhancements for forces and events.
I played Broken Crescent probably ~15 years ago and still remember the awesome soundtrack :) ...one of the best M2TW mods of all time.
Medieval 2 is the only total war that doesn’t get uninstalled I have like 13 mods so dope
This is an absolute gem of a mod, I only stopped playing it after an update that made hordes of enemies too common, but I still remember the joys of leading two Rajput stacks against what seemed like infinite Islamic hordes, breaking their crescents and trampling them with my Hindu Elephants. Good times.
And before the update campaign balance was top notch, and the units are something, every faction is extremely well thought out and designed. It's a joy to go with Romans, Omans, Rajputs or Ghurids.
9\10 and 100% recommended by me (5000hrs+ in historic titles), but some campaign balance patches may be needed for a full enjoyable experience imo, but don't know if there are any available.
I was expecting All Under Heaven to be ultimate Asia Total War, as Broken Crescent is the ultimate Middle East Total War, but the effort proved too much for Yelu.
20 years later and I'm still waiting for an decent Asia Total War, and CA give me Three Kingdoms then drops it down. Oh CA.
I only encountered that in my Kingdom of Georgia campaign, i know the AI was spamming scripted armies against me. Have had that issue with anyone else.
Broken Crescent is a veryyyyyyyyyy old Med 2 mod, i think it's mostly overlooked/overshadowed by other well known Med 2 mods. Shame as it's a really good mod and has factions/religions you don't find in other mods.
I just want to say thank you to you for providing content. You are the Number 1 Adress for Historical Total War.
I never thought I would see Yemen in a MIDEAVEL 2 MOD
I thought it was just in ATTILA DLC and ROME 2 DLC 😅
I had great fun with Oman ( yes i wiped out Yemen ) Oman has a Muslim faction i had never heard of Karijji i think it was.
@@IceniTotalWar Me to
And that Kariji I think it's some sort of a religious ideology
@@TahaAlhimyary Yeah it was very interesting, I was certainly aware of Sunni and Shia Islam and thought i had a decent understanding of religions/sects through my interest in history.
But i had to Google Karijji once i started that campaign.
@IceniTotalWar The kharijites were the people who betrayed Ali (RA) so naturally neither sunnis or shias like them.
The ibadis are less extreme, but the original kharijites were basically dark ages ISIS and were so extreme they killed some of the original first generation followers of Islam for being "too irreligious"
Absolute nutcases, lookup the early Muslim expansion videos from kings and generals and watch the second fitna to see the kharijites at their height.
broken crescent is the first overhaul mod I ever played...was mind blowing and that's why I loved Total War more
BC version 1.05 is my favourite. Well balanced and decent pace to the campaign.
Later versions added some interesting factions which were great, but economy and battle stats were not balanced.
Buff and Shine is a good sub mod.
I would love to see a South Asia or India mod for Medieval 2 total war. The sub-continent is packed with opportunities.
Dei Agminium is a kingdoms mod from the same people as broken crescent but a bit more modern and focussed on the smaller map.
Really good gameplay, supercharged cavalry and awesome models.
Broken Crescent is Epic. In my opinion the best most and that honours most Medieval II legacy.
Hey Terminus! I have been playing Roar of Conquest for Medieval 2 recently, which basically combines Stainless Steel and Broken Crescent. I am really interested to hear your thoughts on it, and it's worth highlighting for more people. 😄
The best mod for the old engine is Roma Surrectum for Rome 1.
So many hours playing that.
Bruh i played this back in 2008, remastered? Lmao. I always loved how this mod had Makuria in it. Incredible.
I had Makouria in my last faction vote but they didn't win, i'll add them in again as they're interesting for both start position and religion.
My wish for a long time is to see these more regional campaign maps ported over to Attila.
I went from Divide and Conquer back to this and the downgrade in the graphics quality killed it, though at least I have a chance of winning this, unlike Divide and Conquer, which has been made stupidly difficult
Agree 100% on DaC i lose now quite often simply by the AI getting their VC ahead of me. Broken Crescent does still have beautiful models but i don't think it's had any updates outside of Buff and Shine in a very long time.
Hey termi, was the the buffe and shine version of Broken Cresent ? Becouse are 2 version of them,Buff and shine have a various buffs and modification 😊
Try buff and shine submod
I will!
buff and shine is amazing but keeps crashing a lot for me after turn 70-80 for some reason, I don't have crashing problems with any other mod.
@@LucasCunhaRocha You should try commenting on the modb page. The creator (WeekendGeneral) is still active and responds regularly with such issues. I know because I had one and he fixed it in one of the patches. Good luck mate!
Are there any mods that remake the Americas Total War DLC?
Very few, there was a Colonialism mod that was WIP but i think stopped, Lucium Total War has an 18th or 19th century South American campaign , Steam and Steel also has same including North America, i may have seen 1 or 2 others.
You’d be missing out if you don’t play as the Khwarezmian, bc Mongol doom stacks spawning is real😅
I’m surprised that you haven’t played this mod yet. I honestly assumed you already did just awhile ago 💀.
Ahah no I had no idea about it! 🤣
Remastered 😂😂😂 This guy never ceases to amaze me
He is running out of mod content.
How am I running out of mod content? There are thousands of mods to choose from 🤣
@@TheTerminatorGaming You'll never run out of mods to cover and i'll never run out of mods to play, i will however run out of time to play them all or even a % of them ! 😮😮🤣🤣
Does it have new siege map models?
Too many good mods for mtw 2 in a life wich is too short
You look so cooked lol
I remember paying this like a decade ago. So they finally made a new update or what?
I still need a naval mod
unfortunetly crashes for me with this error: medieval 2 total war encountered an unspecified error and will now exit . it oftenly happens with mods that we need to change the name medieval2.exe to kingdoms.exe like stainless steel. the 4gb patch didnt work too
im thinking that will it be fixed if i install windows 11 . cause i have already windows 10
Copy and paste the exe file and then rename it as kingdoms
Copy and paste the exe file and then rename it as kingdoms.
Hey, can you host few Online Battle sfor Medieval 2 with mods ofcourse
'In coh 2 i managed to beat mission officer assassination in general deficulty lvl..'
By far and napoleon 3 total war if the modders fix the movement of the army
In my opinion this mod is insane in the sense that it's insanely unbalanced, the units upkeep is just exaggerated and your units always feel super weak against even basic enemy units, not really enjoyable for me.
The buff and shine submod by the way (ironically it does the opposite of what it says) vanilla broken crescent is just ok i guess (i completed 3 campaigns without problems)
Did you say it is fresh in the beginning??? Drugs...
Try Bellum Crucis mod
How many mods that blow your mind? 😂
don't understand: modders remastered old mod "broken crescent", or what?
No the mod sort of remasters the Crusades kingdoms campaign so its bigger, wider, more factions, events etc
Sry, but this was a pretty lacking review. Repeated yourself a lot, didn't really go deep into the mod, it's also visible that you didn't play the campaign very far.
