Wrestlemania 17, king of the ring and survivor series are my favourite ppv’s of 2001 (again I started watching in 2005 and most of the stuff I saw from wwe or wwf in 2001 was terrible with that invasion angle)
Wrestlemania X-7, Backlash, Invasion, SummerSlam, No Mercy and Vengeance make this easily the best year for the Hardcore title imo. I watch these matches and feel like the really could’ve meant more than what it is remembered for. I particularly loved Raven vs Rhyno.
You're talking as if 2001 didn't have any duds. The entire Invasion Angle was a bloody dud, and on average the 2000s PPVs are better than the 2001 PPVs apart from the first three of the year. Backlash, Judgement Day, Fully Loaded, Summerslam and No Mercy in 2000 were better than their 2001 counterparts, whilst also having a great Rumble and No Way Out.
We all know how stone cold Steve Austin won at wrestlemania but can we just take a moment to appreciate The Rock's performance in that match? Cuz he did his best to survive in that match. I haven't seen many people appreciating his performance in that match cuz mostly people talk about Austin shaking hands with McMahon. Of course that moment was shocking but we need to appreciate the Great One

They Really Blew The Invasion Storyline. Man Their Could've Been Iconic Matches Made. From Rock Vs Sting, Bret Heart Vs Kurt Angle, Goldberg Vs Stone Cold Etc. It Wasn't Bad But As A Child I Thought That Was Coming After Knowing The Crossover Was Coming.

I think the Invasion mess overshadows it in a lot of fans’ minds, but if you take away the hate goggles 2001 is just 2000 but with better match quality. Austin and Angle alone had their all-time best years, and you had Jericho and Benoit also tearing it up with the arrival of new guys like RVD, Booker T and Rhyno to spice things up.

Arguably, 2001 has it's detractors but it's pretty much everyone who performed great in 2000 + a few new guys.

2001: Best year for PPVs from start to finish. Not even 2000 comes close when it's got duds like Wrestlemania 2000 and KOTR 2000 holding it back.

In the UK we got four of these PPV's for free on channel 4, Royal Rumble, Backlash, Invasion and Vengeance.
Seeing the Invasion ppv at near bottom. Was like WTF the ppv is so awesome n fun, just shows the rest are just amazing of 2001 ppv.

Adam Cole and Johnny Garganos 2 out of 3 falls match at Takeover Toronto was pretty much a 3 stages of hell match, it just wasn’t called that

2001 was Austin's 4th rumble win. He won in 97 but lost his title match to undertaker I think
No, 2001 was his third win. Austin didn't win in 1999 and he missed 2000. He won in 1997 and 1998 before that.
