Beautiful, Oteil is a Jazz Drummer!
It's 2024 and we have Phil Lesh live on UA-cam. Amazing time to be alive don't listen to what everyone says!
💯
what does everyone say?
@@wantabeu2ify -- They say "Hey, Hey Pocky Way"......
Phenomenal that Phil jams another 30 years almost after Jerry passed on.
Jer would be proud ⚡️💀🤙🏽
What does everyone say?😮😮
Oteil on drums!!!! Love it!!!
The idea of a never-ending Dark Star is just so appropriate, especially since I often thought of the Grateful Dead's 30 year run as 1single long show.
Add joke here…
The Show goes ON!!!❤
Beautiful to hear and see Phil and Oteil together. Specially considering the almost hate towards Deadco from some older heads. (The guys who simply have to make a negative comment at every Deadco video they stumble upon).
I'm loving this series! Thanks, Phil!
I've got this little scenario running in my head: Oteil shows up to play, looks around, and says, "Where's the other bass?" No one answers. After a couple of minutes, everybody else is ready to start. Oteil, confused, looks around again. "Hey, there's no drummer!" Phil gazes at him over his glasses. Slowly dawning comprehension. Oteil grins and says, "I'll flip you for it!"
I don't think so. 😀
Oooo thanks algo!..
Great combo. Delighted to see Oteil and Phil together.
Excellent performance.
Dim the lights next time yes!
✨🧙🏾♂️✨
Bass Great,Lesh Philling 🐐
In 1966 it was unimaginable to think any of our musicians would still be around. Just goes to show you that anything is possible-and nothing is for certain.
Cosmic Charlie 👶. ❤😊
After a while I stopped focusing on all that talent in one place and just closed my eyes and listened. Really beautiful music. I'm just loving it!
Another banger as the kids say. Haha, maybe not but thanks for this wonderful jam. 👌
Let me know if I missed anything but this was pretty much just a beautiful noodlefest!
(1:00) Picks up from Episode 1
(11:15) Dark Star
(23:15) Stella Blue
Nailed it except I’d add back into Dark Star out of Stella
Peace all
@@novakaya Spanish Jam before Stella.
Two of my top four favorite bass players in one place. Just missing Mr. Lee and Mr. Schools. Oh, to be a fly on the wall at these sessions.
That was absolutely wonderful. Thanks for sharing it!
Phil & O’teil should do some tour shows together.
Thanks again Phil and Friends!
I'm just freakin' stunned by how good all this Terrapin Clubhouse stuff is. This is Dead 69/77 with better audio quality.
Phil has always done it right Karl
I disagree: this is what it is here and now. No need for nostalgia friend.
@@donaldgehre5964I`ll 2nd that opinion. Being in the now, instead of the then. That we still have Phil at 84 is a blessing. Is this not why Jerry wanted Phil to be in his band way back when? Jerry knew that Phil was a musician, could read music and had the raw talent to learn to play the bass guitar in 1 week. One should keep in mind Phil can put on a tuxedo, pick up a baton, and conduct a full symphony orchestra. He contributed his knowledge of formal music to the Dead and along with Jerry gave them their sound. He is a musician of the first order, hands down. Love what you do Phil!!
Love it. Wish it could be up on Spotify so it was more share-able.
Some Mesa cabinets in use! Nice 🔥🤙😍
This is so so fresh. Ty ❤
I’m SO glad I found this!
Love Lebo! Just spent four hot sweaty days with him, Holly, and a whole bunch of other beautiful people at HSMF. Speaking of hot and sweaty, anyone used to see Solar Circus at The Bank in Baltimore in the 90s? That place was gross and awesome at the same time. Jason knows what I’m talking about… 🎉
Live from The Shell🐢, what a treat! Many Thanks Phil!
This is so amazing folks! Wowzer is not at all close to describe this jam! Mind melting with a special band!
Blessings on you all , thank you for the blissful sounds
Best music since the Jerry years.......proving that Phil was the driving force behind to explorations the fellas used to do back in 1971-74.....this sounds great! No vocals just avent gard grooves ......i could listen all night 🌙
Simply sublime :)
This is so good, It makes me really happy, thank you
Being here and witnessing this is such a rare pleasure. Thank you. ❤
Oteil can play some sweet drums.
Man that was just so fucking good to hear
Thanks for this! BTW, it was great to hear Dark Star in G!!! Some tunes lend themselves to their original keys, as they fit best on the instruments in those keys. But tunes like Dark Star can be played in any key, and each key is a whole different color. I'm going to Orinda today and tomorrow. You're not officially announced as playing, but I hope you'll sit in both days, Phil! :-)
Well, did Phil play in Orinda ?
That oteil guy is talented
Super nice touch Oteil!! LIBERATION DRUMS. ✌️
Thanks!
Thanks again!
That was awesome!!! 😎👍
Imagine this band with the replica Wall Of Sound + a replica Mission Control / Osiris bass…
Would need more vertical space though
Thank you!!
I'm all Philled-up again!
Loving this! Thank you!
Thank you so much! Beautiful
🔥🔥🔥
Live from The Shell what a treat!
Oteil is actually a decent drummer. Has a bit of an Elvin Jones feel to his playing.
Oh my god I put this on but I wasn’t paying attention to the video so I didn’t even notice it was Oteil! You’re absolutely correct though
Otiel added so much space to the music, what a great job! I honestly am not a fan of Molos drumming and much prefer this to the other videos
Just saw Holly and Danny from Episode 1 at Dark Star Jubilee in Ohio (Legend Valley, site of Buckeye Lake). They sounded good as ever. Would’ve drove that far to see Holly! And Danny played Alligator 🐊!! Highly recommend DSJ. So much fun.
thank you for this magic ✨
Hooray! What fun
it doesnt get any better than this
This is a great concept. I wasn't familiar with Lebo at all. He's a hell of a player.
Same, need to check this guy’s work out…
Here in the Bay Area we are blessed with Lebo's omnipresence and omni-talent. He has an uncanny ability to play with any musician(s), totally fit the situation without taking over, yet sound totally himself. His guitar stylings are unique and instantly recognizable.
His main band ALO (Animal Liberation Orchestra) is fantastic, look for full show videos on UA-cam, but he always has multiple projects going. He's a very decent songwriter and singer and knows how to arrange for horns and large ensembles. He's totally approachable and a complete mensch.
MCCNEARS GONNA BE SUCH A HOOT!
great yall
Magic!
Man this IS what it’s ….ALL about ☝️ 😊
Let Phil be much much louder!
!
Just me or can I hardly hear phil?
Just about to say....
I have two subwoofers and his bass is very clear.
if i’m listening to high quality sound i can never hear phil on phones/laptops etc.
Headphones on and clear as ever

Nice Stuff. LOSE THE WHITE OVERHEAD LIGHTING PLEASE. Very Sterile feel to your environment. Get some colorful lighting in there.
Have some respect. That’s Phil Mother fucking Lesh.
I agree. Seems like a school setting
@@23Miok Ha ha.. After they get some nice lighting in there, than we can push for a Fog machine! After that, Bubbles
I don’t know, makes it seem garage-y… anyone know where this “clubhouse” is? (Phil’s garage?)
Too much glare! Like a little atmosphere with my music.
Oteil
So much better then Dead and Slow , Poor Bobby.
Cmon man. They’re playing great.
They can get a bit bogged down sometimes I'll agree, but it's just different I guess.
Thanks!
Let Phil be much much louder!
Thanks!
