His music introduced me to electronic music, and to the notion that, all in all, every music is just music, and there shouldn't be any genre to stay completely away from, because something worth may lie anywhere... even wherewer we're not used to look (or perhaps especially there)!
1:02:20 - I am hearing 'Mature Raver' for the first time. After listening to Aphex Twin/RDJ for 32 years, I am still constantly amazed by the inventiveness, how unique and imitated he is, and a track that was 'just' used on Soundcloud under a 'secret' name is many levels beyond 99% of electronic artists. A true musical genius of the highest level.
@@mUbase indeed! How are you good sir? Not on FB anymore and have been wondering how you guys are. Saw this, then saw your comment! Small world. Hope all is well.
thanks man your music is the best, if the is Richard,I was 15 in a bed-n-breakfast in Cornwall when i first listened to your music....thanks you for the upload.
Today was a perfect time to sit back thinking of all the crazy fun a favourite mate and I did had before he's tragic crash so far from Home.Chilling now Rip Kraig I.can't believe it.
PERLISWEIRD Pretty sure it's the version he uses when he plays it live. At least I have a bunch of tracks recorded from a live show years ago and he plays that version of Heliosphan. It's so good.
Maybe you mean the Newton and Beethoven of Electronic Ambient. Aphex Twin laid the foundations for pretty much all ambient electronic which is more akin to what Newton did for Physics. Einstein came in and broke everything. Stravinsky is probably the orchestral music equivalent of Einstein. I would definitely like to see what that means for ambient electronic music, but tbh I don't think that's AFX.
The good thing about Aphex is that you can listen at a variety of playback speeds courtesy of the youtube speed adjustment tool, in the settings, right there on the right of the screen. Try it.
i wish i was so neurotic and impusive but anyway i didnt get into aphex twin until 2017 when i first heard saw 1 the tracks pulsewidth and xtal were the ones that got me hooked ever since man i wish i were smarter
The first track, blu carpet, somehow reminds me that one day I'll be gone. That my body will be nothing more than dust reabsorbed back into the earth and the air. That death is coming for me, and everyone and everything I know. And that somehow, I'm OK with it.
Weeeigh Jussa Minat, that first song reminds me when I need to take a big crap at a public restroom inside of a dumb hipster restaurant that is somehow just waaaay toooo coo oil for even the hippest hipster in what is now hipster infested downtown L.A. (For example: The entire length of Spring St.) wouldn't dare to step inside cuz he/she just stepped on a giant piece of dog turd that some other dirty hipster didn't want to pick it up because its "way beyond them" attitude they give to a non hipster(me) when I suggest that maybe they should pick their fucking shite up from the sidewalk because I am trying to walk over here!!! It s a fucking suicide mission trying to get off of spring st without taking evasive maneuvers to dodge those turds(hipsters)!! WTF happened to the beloved crack heads and drug dealers that used to roam spring and main sts? Roaming these territories like the might T. Rex's and Spinosauras' of yore. Oh how I miss these kinder and gentler dinosaurs, at least they never gave anyone attitude when they were approached and asked if "they were holding"
what's this life about? how must I be ? why does nobody love me ? should I be loved or am I not strong enough to face loneliness ? who can I trust ? is anything real around us ?
Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient (IDM) Works Vol. 6 (2015) - OK so not really "ambient at all" I'll change name later 8 yrs ago: Where tf is changes, bro?
His music introduced me to electronic music, and to the notion that, all in all, every music is just music, and there shouldn't be any genre to stay completely away from, because something worth may lie anywhere... even wherewer we're not used to look (or perhaps especially there)!
totally feel the same about all the good music, to new, unusual directions and it started also with electronic)
RDJ made me take electronic music way more seriously when i first found him. my favorite genre now, possibilities are endless
Took me 55 yrs to be free of genres and Tags glad to be here listening without pressure just for the pleasure.
Amen!
28 Organ is so uplifting, I hold it up as high as Alberto Balsalm, Vordhosbn, and Flim, and his other great melody tracks.
+BenjamminClark what about mello punchy?
Yeah its great! U might like my channel too, richard is the best there will be
actually i prefer the first 3 tracks before this one, even still great
I agree, Flim is a high bar but is definitely up there in terms of happiness
THIS GUY IS SAVING MY LIFE
Literally!
He has open something big for me, I was 16 when I listen is music for the first time.
I'm now 34 and is sound never bored me... TIMELESS
only jesus saves
only jesssus saves they dont like me saying JEEEEESUS
You can really hear the complexity, yet synchronous advances Richard James has made since he did the first ambient works. Love it.

Thank you for posting your 6 mixtapes. I love them. Travelled with Mr James since 1994 and it's been a pleasure.
This mix is so wonderful. It's been the soundtrack for so much of my creative work. Thank you for this
I love APHEX TWIN!!!!!!!

The Heliosphan mix at 1:05:00 is pretty sick!
SailfishSoundSystem it's great isn't it. I was never a huge fan of the track but this mix with the bonus acid sounds really does it for me! 😉
@@alphaprobe1710 Yeah this is heliosphan live @ Shinjuku Liquid Room, Japan, 01 02 1997 and yeah the acid complements the song very nicely I agree
@@Thomas-yl8lbIt's an absolute belter! Thanks for the additional info, dude
These are really great. I'm discovering tracks I'd been ignoring from my library. Thanks for making these!

41:58 Organ sounds like an animal crossing character doing a rap song
yeah, we were trying to clear the 'roos from the railroad crossing during that recording but they just refused to "hop off" ;-)
i feel that so heavy
This should be pressed on vinyl.
I agree
O my god 36:50 "organ" just changed my life yo, he will always be the best
"You've got to eat bread if you want to get a baby. That's what my mother told me!"

This is dope! Really liking these SAW releases
Bit sheptical at the beginning, but turned out to be a great job! Definitely an intense and elaborated chilling session!
28 lorgan is just so pretty
I'm sure there's an alien spaceship parked up somewhere playing this music right now. They are in awe of human kind.
never fails to amaze me
Donkey Rhubarb remix is fantastic

Cannot unhear
It should have been. What about if Aphex and Michael would have performed together, music would been Aphex versions with michael singing :Oooo
AFX the Einstein and Beethoven from the Electronic Ambient...°!

yeah, I always listen afx at 0.5 speed.
Love the breakbeat stuff (is that what it's called? E.g. Make a baby)
It's a mixture, yes Breakbeat, Drillcore, Drum and Bass, Intelligent Dance Music (IDM) and 'classical'.
i wish i was so neurotic and impusive but anyway i didnt get into aphex twin until 2017 when i first heard saw 1 the tracks pulsewidth and xtal were the ones that got me hooked ever since man i wish i were smarter
Acid organ sounds like a katamari damacy song. Love it!!
All these ambient works sound like they would be great in adventure time
Dope as fuck. What a treasure trove.
I suggest you put the starting time and name for each track in the description togather with the link...
1:11:22 to end = It's beautiful.

I never thought it could get better than the R.D.J album but here is the proof.

Unimaginative boring dull repetitive are not words that would use to describe AFX. I don't know how I found the time to write this but I did
We love u the best
That last '1' in the owners id! Class A!
A very special musician
When are you going to change the name from ambient
Not really a connoisseur but for some reason this is the best Aphex Twin I´ve ever met. Is this supossed to be NOT published, really?
