It would be cool to see some SLM 3d printed lugs or rocker links tested. You can get real funky and organic with the designs and it would be super precise for welding
Love it! I'm actually stoked to have the straight tube headtube, as a rider between sizes most of th time it is limiting on trail bikes to have that adjustment. One of the reasons I got my latest trail bike is because I could fit in a Works cup to make it 5mm longer
such a cool project. I really like hearing about all the design elements you've incorporated as well as a little explanation on why what you chose is good and how it's different from the alternative - ie anti rise and shock position.
Thought I saw this thing in the Snowshoe Basin side lift line! Love the shock extender idea. My Norco Sight eeb has the same setup and it seems like a good way to keep lateral stress off the shock. Surprised more manufacturers don’t do it!
I really like the shock mount. It's a good idea to allow more degrees of freedom for the shock to compensate the alignment tolerances instead to rely on tight tolerances. Also better when the bike deflects under load. Same robust design, that'st what I like.
Nice job and excellent presentation, great to see you back racing.A couple quick thoughts,is there any plan to have a mullet option via flip chip etc.,and it might be nice to have 10mm chain stay length adjustment, say between 435 and 445 if possible to accommodate tighter riding conditions.Weight will definitely be consideration for some, but seems like you have it all covered, best of luck and obviously your hard work and determination is paying off.Final thought, can't wait to see Asa Vermette racing world cups and it would be amazing to see him riding your bikes at those events!
Love what you're doing Neko, love the bike and your way of thinking 😎 Where will we be able to get one of these? And will you make a 500mm reach one for taller guys?
Thanks for the details on the anti-rise. I feel like that's a really overlooked aspect of suspension feel. My last enduro bike (4-bar) had over 100% AR, and felt terrible braking, even with an O-chain. My current bikes are down around 60-70% like yours and feel miles better, even without an O-chain.
I like that bike I have a 2010 Bottlerocket with a modern build . And what I like about it is the frame weight because once that suspension gets pushed it just gets so good on the trail and I see the purposeful design here so good Nico how do you think of that sideways shock that’s nifty
I love the straight seat tube and long rear end and external cable routing. Also 39 lbs isn't too bad for an enduro bike, my 2019 Meta AM with 27.5 DH casing tires and a coil shock is also 39 lbs. If you can put in huge amounts of FEA and trial and error and testing you can prob take it all the way down to 36 lbs. Not really worth all the effort, IMO, unless you plan on mass production and selling 10,000 per year.
@@obi-wankenobi9871 what you say may be true, but my point was going through all the engineering r&d effort required to reduce the weight a marginal amount is a very large effort and will be expensive. It becomes diminishing returns unless he sells a huge number of frames.
Again love the straight forward, honesty of the videos and process, so refreshing, looking forward to seeing where this goes. With regards to the tubing and HT, yup definitely some weight savings there, but I'd still want the HT to accept a standard that can run angle/reach adjust headsets easily so you could tune the bike if you're riding seriously steep vs not so steep or really tight vs more open. Geo looks about on par for that sort of bike, but STA for me is WAY too steep. So as someone who's NOT a fan of super steep STA, I'm curious when you say you were out all day pedaling, was that all just basically winch and plummet type, i.e. climb to descend or did you do much, if any flat/rolling terrain or long mellow climbs/mellower climbing? What sort of effort would you say you gave when not descending?
don't you think you need two different CoG for anti squat and anti rise? I mean, while braking you bend your legs a little more than while pedaling? however, thanks a lot for the great insights!!! 🙂
I Love watching these vids and Geeking out Neko!! I can’t say 39 lbs is that bad I have a FOES Mixer that is 36 LBS and I Love it to Death!! The way you built it up is totally Bomb Proof!! If they ever go on sale I might have to buy one and I think Brent might get mad at me but I Love the Geo that you are using and you Brent he will not change at all!! Keep the Productions coming and I also Love the music you pick!!🍺🍺🍺
Thanks for sharing all the details. Have you considered running a longer head tube? 170mm might sound crazy but I'd be curious for your take on taller stack bikes.
Why do you make the top tube like this? Your seatpost is pullled a lot out so why not making the top tube more horizontal? Then also a bigger bottle would fit in.
Love this Neko! Really appreciate the thought you've put into the design and also sharing that thinking with us. Which headset do you use in that ZS56/56 head tube?
Yo Neko! Where did you get a strait steerer fox factory? I have and older bike with a strait steerer but the fork is beyond blown out. Anyways, you should try out enduro!
Hey would love to analyze data you collect between models to help infer which changes do what! Have a data engineering machine learning background. Would love to help out if it’s something you want! Cheers!
can’t wait to see where this goes neko… counting down the days where i can own my own frameworks
Are you saying you want to build your own or ride the bikes neko is building?
it isnt even sure that he will even ever sell any of these bikes
@@benjamin.schmidt his dh frame goes on presale wednesday 11/8!, his enduro frame goes on sale later
So good! Honestly, if I were to buy an enduro frame, I’d go to Neko first. I really appreciate the transparent development process!
Are you mad? That rusty gate behind the bike will be lighter than it.
Nice work mate! Seatpost insertion is a winner for me.
It would be cool to see some SLM 3d printed lugs or rocker links tested. You can get real funky and organic with the designs and it would be super precise for welding
This is so rad. Thanks for taking us along for the design and ride of your dream ride. I would love to see more of the fabrication side of the builds.
You’re an absolute legend my dude.
These videos are so amazing Neko! Keep crushing it!

LOVE this. Love the transparency in your process.
a significant amount of the geo and the lower shock mount are the same with Pole bikes
That shock extender idea is interesting and a very good idea for multiple reasons. Fun to hear about the process, best of luck on all the refinements.
what a weapon! Bike looks decent as well
You are now k my list of people I'd live to have a beer with. Love what you are doing and your honesty. Nice work bro.
Keep up the hard work. Nice to know that you have an enduro frame too. Cheers.
These videos are so good for nerds like me! Thanks for sharing so much in depth info about the process
Hope that eventually their frames or complete Frameworks bikes become available for purchase
In depth videos are the fricken best, bike looks great.
Looking forward to the inevitable ‘steel-mainframe/carbon-rear-end’ iteration 😜🖤🤘🏻
such a cool project. I really like hearing about all the design elements you've incorporated as well as a little explanation on why what you chose is good and how it's different from the alternative - ie anti rise and shock position.
Big fan of these in-depth videos. Looking forward to one day owning a frameworks myself 🫡
those bikes are sweet. keep building them if you do end up putting up a few for sale i would 100% pick one up.
Great walkthrough on the bike.
Stoked to be a part of this project!

Saw this while racing nationals at rock creek and it looks super sick in person
Did he mention what the seat tube angle there? It looks super steep, I love it!
I think it was 80. Sounds like it might get a hair slacker for production
Magic geometry! Brutal looks

What a perfect bike. Love it. I will ride one of this soon. All my best wishes to you and the people arround you ✨⭐
Love what you're doing Neko, love the bike and your way of thinking 😎

That big rocker gives it that Kona stinky vibe
Sometimes you can look back to move forward nice rig

I think you mixed up Anti rise and pedal kickback
Love the shock mount.
This bike look really interesting, this geometry look good, I would be curious to ride this. Look like Privateer or Pole with the steep seat tube. 👍
loving the uninterrupted seat tube. Last bike I used a 240 on was an Orange and everything else is a disappointment now.
Is there a roadmap to market for this puppy? 😊

FEA isnt the issue, its easy. Determining the loads is difficult part.
I dont think its too heavy. My enduro bike also weighs 39 pounds.

Would love to see a pure 29er trail bike that is more well rounded for the ups as well as downs.

Does the current weight include centrifugal clutch weights in the cassette?
Awesome video as always and good luck with your continued recovery.

FW ... Frank the welder. Frank Wadelton has done it. Nice 🤙
That thing looks ablolutely sick.
I would love it if you would send this bike to Pinkbike for testing
Thanks for sharing all the details. Have you considered running a longer head tube? 170mm might sound crazy but I'd be curious for your take on taller stack bikes.
Neko do a in depth on your downhill bike you are the start of a new mtb future keep going forward bro
The ultimate Pisgah bike. Awesome
Why do you make the top tube like this? Your seatpost is pullled a lot out so why not making the top tube more horizontal? Then also a bigger bottle would fit in.
Love the information! Why aluminum instead of steel? Was it weight? I see you like the 29" front and 27.5" rear. What is the reason?
Love this Neko! Really appreciate the thought you've put into the design and also sharing that thinking with us. Which headset do you use in that ZS56/56 head tube?
That STA is like 90 deg!!!! Wholly sheiiiiit!!!
The cattle are definitely interested
I don't think you said it in the video or maybe I missed it but what material is the this new bike made from?
Super impressed Neko thank you for all that info.
What are you feeding those cows ? They move like the Flash 😂
Thanks for the video Neko, very interesting 👍
It sounds like you learned a lot making this bike!
this is the Telecaster of enduro bikes!
Well done, stay with it!
Yo Neko! Where did you get a strait steerer fox factory? I have and older bike with a strait steerer but the fork is beyond blown out.
Anyways, you should try out enduro!
It’s a tapered steerer, ZS56 headset top and bottom but has a reducer up top
Geo looks damn near perfect, great job! What compression and rebound tunes do you run on the shock?
So what that is 17 kg, better heavier and strong, than lighter and fragile! Keep on good work and great videos!
But what does the frame weigh?
Any chance of getting one with a regular seat post angle? 73-74° etc?
I would love to be a tester fot this bike
that rig is sick dude, nice work all the way around. Is it convertable to full 29er? Really dig this frameworks series, so cool
Looks like a v2 transition patrol with a steeper seat tube.
Almost exactly the same sizing and geo too.
Nice bike
But why not keep the dh tubing(there are enough bikes which break on the market(this could be a true bike park/enduro/trail bike)
What’s with that tiny front brake rotor?
Frank the Welder rules
Go Neko !
F.T.W. in ‘24

I would be all about that bike. The only thing I don't love is the carbon but I understand why
What sag do you run on this and how do you measure? Seated standing etc.
Hey would love to analyze data you collect between models to help infer which changes do what! Have a data engineering machine learning background. Would love to help out if it’s something you want! Cheers!
Any thoughts on adding internal cable routing ?
Why??
lmao that has zero advantages and multiple cons. 100% not gonna happen.
I want that thing
Much More Excited ☺️🎉
Ill take one as soon as its ready to sell
We not steel??
I need a frame!!!!
The cows checking out the bike like 👀
Hey don't call me that lol
cool background
Can I buy this Frame?
Was mentioned how much travel it has?
160/160 I think
@@kam1l0 thank you
Its so pretty
Looks a lot like Pole geometry 🧐
Even the shock is mounted sideways 😄
Not buying another bike until this is sold
60% of the time, it works every time
I cant deal with the aesthetics when the seatstay is steeper than the top tube :(
bravo!
I'm in lake placid
I hope you succeed... Please make your products.. less expensive😁.
455 chain stay 😢 440 would be nice
Plenty of Norco Sight copies out there with 440 stays. This would be way more balanced with the front centre
Will be waiting for the day I can throw some money at you and frank!
sick
It looks like cube 140 hpa sl
17 kg is pretty standard, I wouldn't worry about that.
Crude AF but like it
Beefy bike 👌 🇺🇲
Sell me a frame. Please!!! An older trail frame
