The real life interviews of Antony starr look more like Homelander pretending to be a normal person, than a normal person who pretends to be Homelander in a TV Show. It's insane how he really make this image, the expressions, himself. He's never going to not scream "oh shit its homelander" when I see his face, beard or not.

Not only did he leave her in the room with all of those bodies he lasered the door shut. That is the most subtle and f'd up part of the whole episode. She cant get out.
Even if she were found (which is likely because a site director's movements would be logged or recorded at some level), she's stuck inside blast doors, ones that are built to withstand bomb damage.
It'd be extremely hard to get her out, even if someone knew where she was from minute zero.
Actually the worst part is that she won’t be able to bring herself to eat the human flesh surrounding her until it’s far too late and it’s rotten.

The fact that Firecrackers whole campaign is to label StarLight as a predator, and yet when Firecracker admits to being an actual predator, her base doesn't care at all 😂. Actually pretty realistic, but still wild 😂
Starlight and her side trying to claim the moral high ground when she's done so much messed up stuff herself is pretty realistic as well. She flat out murdered an innocent person not too long ago and the writers seem to have forgotten about that.

Antony Starr as Homelander in this episode was best acting i have ever seen ! His facial expressions are best !
I dated a New Zealand woman fo a while and her older brother worked on the set on a New Zealand tv series called outrageous fortune. He said Antony starr was so nice to him and all people who worked on the production. He said Antony noticed he was depressed and went out of his way to cheer him up and help him out. It’s amazing to see how far his career has come. Interesting how this huge American show has two kiwis leading the way, a country of just 5 million people. If you watch him in interviews and promotion videos on UA-cam with his cast mates you can hardly recognize him, it’s like a totally different person, he’s looks so cute with his glasses and scarfs. Those clips of him with chase Crawford ( the deep) are jarring because he looks scrawny next to the chase and it’s funny how he’s the more silly goofy one and Chance is the more serious and intimidating one.

my theory is that butcher DOES have powers. And he can speak to the dead. Which would explain why he’s seeing becca so much (like maybe its not just mental) Only thing is it wouldn’t explain what the hell happened in the RV. Unless he has multiple powers? (kinda like how homelander has multiple?) idk just a theory.

I think it's more likely that Butcher has a V'd up parasite inside him
[possibly multiple parasites; we seem to be seeing a big one and also smaller ones]
that will come out of him to protect its host.
I think it's the parasite[s] that killed Ezekiel directly. As far as I can tell Butcher was still laying on the floor exactly where he was being strangled when he woke up.
I suspect it will do whatever is necessary to keep Butcher alive until it has completely drained him of whatever it's specifically feeding on, and then seek to find a new host.
This might even be what gives us the scene from the trailer where they're being attacked by V'd up farm animals... Multiple parasites, multiples hosts. Just a theory of course.

Nah bro. Since season 1, the most repeated comment in discussions is that Antony Starr elevates this show from good to great.
He's to be the main villain of the show for all 5 seasons. But saying it's nothing without him is insulting. Literally the show is called The Boys, not The Homelander. It's about our Boys, the good guys. Also, homelander would be less entertaining if he didn't have a rival like Butcher.
This season has dropped what little subtlety there was in the show’s social critique. As if to say, “you’re not getting it, so let me make it crystal clear”. In real life we have a “firecracker”, in fact we have several. In real life we have a “Homelander”, in fact we have several. This show is no longer trusting us to “get” the warning, or who they are talking about.
Given how a lot of people are only now realizing some things that they should have gotten seasons ago, I don't blame them. plus, the audience is mostly stupid these days, unlike the old days, at least the loud minority/majority.

Yeah Because of the material he had to work with. Antony Starr is absolutely fantastic but he has the luxury that few good actors do and that’s to be able to have the opportunity to play a character like this on a show like this. A character like Homelander is a total gold mine for any good actor to show their range and really shine. Not to take anything away from Antony starr but there are plenty of actors who could have done this role and we would be saying the same thing we are about starr, about how they are perfect for the role and we couldn’t imagine anyone else.

The show runner for The Boys said this show is directly about celebrities becoming fascist autocrats (literally Trump) and that the series has always been deeply political. I think it's important that they're calling attention to troubling things in our society and unfortunately, we're past the point of jokes in some of these situations and it's just really sad and scary :(

He said much more inflammatory things calling out incels and extreme right wing politicians in the interview as well. comments about sister sage's secret lobotomies were most definitely spoilers -- her character was invented for the tv series and doesn't appear in the comics, nor do the lobotomies apply to any other characters from the comics. the only way to know is seeing this episode or a clip.

The tool Sage uses to lobotomize herself was shown in the previous episode when she first had sex with the Deep. Not really a spoiler, you just had to put two and two together.

I personally don’t think parenting is about sacrifice inherently. I don’t think people plan to have kids for sacrifice. It’s partially religious upbringing, it’s partially a want to have a mirror. I agree that two people make a decision to have a kid, but I don’t think it’s a selfless act, and many philosophers have spoken to this about the ethics of birthing and parenting.
