That 2nd movement snare feature had me jumping up and down in my room. How they got a roll that clean and that low is beyond me Also Paul with the fade i see you
Just to help out: If you set your camera over by the tenors and pan right, you'll be able to catch all of the tenor parts and also capture what the snares do. That way you're not panning back and forth and missing what they're playing. 🤷♂️
I got a little overzealous with some of the camera moves before realizing I didn’t know their book well enough to do any panning shots. I’ve been experimenting with different shooting styles lately to diversify the look of my videos. It also didn’t help that the head of my monopod broke just as the lot started so I was slightly distracted making sure my camera rig didn’t go “splat” onto the pavement. 😓
@@503music6 You may very well be correct. In my opinion, both lines are on the cutting edge of world-class excellence. While the differences are miniscule, the BC line's talent is indeed exceptional this year.
Here’s a list of my equipment: Camera - Sony a6300 with 16-50mm kit lens Mic - Zoom H4n Pro on a mini tripod, roughly at knee level Stabilizer - Zhiyun Weebill S, attached to a standard 68” monopod I shoot in 1080p at 60 frames per second, and edit in Final Cut X. I use a plug-in called FilmConvert for color correction. I made the video intro in After Effects. Hope this helps!
The cymbal line had a large group of people in front of them who all had their phones out taking video which I assume will show up on UA-cam. I was set up next to another person with a large camera rig and couldn’t get a very clear shot of them, so I stayed focused on the membranophones.
The variety of snare drum heights as a sine wave and antique drum carriers along with random mixing of players by height doesn’t give off the look that should be expected of any top class line.
As stated above, I got a little excited with some of the camera moves and they didnt turn out as well as I had hoped. I’m trying to diversify how I shoot my videos so it’s not just a boring wide shot on a tripod. This was a learning experience on what NOT to do, and I tried to tone down the movement after their first show chunk.
Every drumline Paul Rennick touches turns to musical gold. Prove me wrong.
It’s entirely unfair
Rennick after a good rep: "Yo that shit was bussin no cap fr on god"
🤣🤣🤣🤣
that is quite literally what ryan ellis will say after a good rep

The musicality, cleanliness, and pure energy that comes across here is priceless and spot on. Right where they should be mid-July.

SCV has always been so clean. The writing is always fun for the hands too
Holy Smokes! Man - sooooo good! Absolutely loving it!
i love dynasty drums so much
Same, they're on par with Yamaha and only behind Pearl imho
Only negative is they heavy af
@@toxi101yt5 I actually think they're pretty light compared to the other drums (at least the new ones)
They sound glorious, don't they?
I love everything about these drums except wearing them
Imagine if SCV got Matt Harloff to head up the brass program with Rennick heading up the percussion program. SCV would be unstoppable.
That was some HEAT!!!
10:36 center quad went flying
That bass split at 10:00 😮💨🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Always clean 🔥
4:46 just how hard they are hitting there drums is insane!
This is too clean. . . unreal!
Are they going to come out in 2024 and play a show they’ve been working on for more than a full year? That could be insanely clean.
☝🏾🏆
Yo when the basses ripped that lil visual at the very very end of the vid, I about shat
does anyone know where to buy those double sided tenor sticks?
from the videos I have seen, SCV has the cleanest line this year. im guessing carolina always takes brass though?
BAC
I can't remember a recent year where they WEREN'T the cleanest line.
"Clean Line" is what they do.
Boston kicked major ass this year in the snareline’s rolls, which makes this weird to say, but they were cleaner than scv

@@503music6 I agree. I think Boston overall is cleaner this year for sure
2:32 Remy with the recovery
why does it sound like there is a strange overtone coming from the quads? is it the astroturf theyre on?
It's an echo/delay from presumably the walls around them
And it's a tennis court, not astroturf
What are you using to record this?? Looking to get some equipment to record my line.

Did he call the whole line to let the Cymbals in🤙
For the algorithm. ✊

🤣
The thumbnail lol.
Ah, yes the classic SCV center tenor overhyping the show book played on stands.
Josh Hirner's legacy lives on lmfao
Their carriers look like from 90s
GO BOSTON CRUSADERS . Scv sounds the same every year with the same turning
It’s a winning formula. Why would he change what’s known as that SCV sound? They still beat boston 🤣
🧼🧼🧼🧼
is that Rennick who bumps the camera around 6:52? Lol
Naw, I think my monopod hit my leg when I was swinging over to the snares
@@DrumlineArchives oh lol ok. the way he came into frame made it look like he might have. love the videos man👍🏻
there's like 5 minues of nothing at the end BTW
Yep, Final Cut glitched out and added a bunch of black. Been working on fixing it but UA-cam is being difficult.

Nowhere near enough of the cymbal line in this video. They only participate in every other rep, so why not focus on them when they're in?
