I have a 2022 Kia Soul GT Line non turbo and I love it. Spunky and fun to drive. Sport mode feels like a turbo. I have had Chrysler/Dodge vehicles prior but this Soul is amazing
Bought one yesterday. (Here in California!) Drives fine, not crazy about the flat part of the steering wheel. Or the light colored part of the seats (I would have preferred all black or grey)...nice screen console, connects completely to your phone. I prefer not using any of the driver assist features except for back up warning. All of this can be customized. These cars are 3 inches longer than the older Kias and 1 inch wider. Very cute, love that blue color.
I got the same car too and I love it! The D shape steering wheel was annoying at first until I got a steering wheel cover and now it doesn't bother me whatsoever!
My wife has a 2018 Honda Fit which is in the shop due to a recall. Her rental is a Kia Soul and she is loving it. Has a little bit more pickup than the Fit and a little bit more room. She also likes being a little higher up off the ground. I'd say the only complaint is no magic seats which unfortunately are no longer offered at all in any American sold Honda. Watching this video seems like Fit lovers could easily migrate to the Kia soul.
I like the Soul very much because of its practicality. It's also very easy to get in and out of and the cockpit gives you this sense of confidence that is appreciated from mature adults. I hope for the Soul to be in Kia's lineup for many more years to come. Good job Matt.
I've had my GT Line for a little over a month. Love it so far. Drives very nice, quiet and smooth. Still a lil befuddled by all the technology . . . lots to learn for a non-techy septuagenarian. Got it for $2.5k below MSRP.
@@BecauseHelives7 Well . . . in my case - I think a lot of my luck was in the timing. My dealership had just received a lot of Souls for the new year. They implemented a 'President's Day' sale where they took $2,023 off the MSRP. They also had a Valentines Day special where the customer could select an envelope containing a random amount of discount . . . which gave me an additional $500 off. I was also paying cash . . which took away some of their bargaining leverage. You can always make an offer while letting them know you are serious and that you are prepared to hit up the next dealer if they don't 'deal' with you. BTW . . I am still enjoying my Soul. It really feels way more luxurious than the price would indicate. Good Luck!
I have the '23 GT Line and love it! Although here in Canada, we get heated/ventilated seats, heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, sunroof, full LED lights, Harman/Kardon premium audio, red interior accects and stitching and power front seats.
I have a 2015 Soul Base manual transmission and I love it. Looking to replace it while it still has good value. Compared to other vehicles at this price point, the Soul stands out. I have found this to be a trouble-free, roomy vehicle that is fun to drive. I’ll miss the manual transmission but look forward to upgrading to an EX.
Fantastic review on all levels. I really appreciate it. I am strongly considering to get one soon, this review helps. It would be a daily commuter and part time Uber, nothing too heavy. Uber would be just a side gig for about fifteen hours a week unless holiday for more cash. I previously had a Nissan Cube which I adored until the cvt transmission Nissan used then pooped out at 107k miles...after warranty expired. I thank you again, you earned a sub for sure. Cheers
I got this exact vehicle, and I'm loving it so far! The color surf blue is eye catching 💙 I've received so many compliments! It was a tough decision to switch from a Mazda to a kia, but im i think I made the right choice. The only thing I wish was better is the gas mileage, BUT everything else makes up for it.
@MattTheCarguy I'm getting around 29-33 miles a gallon. I'm landing around 30ish. My last car was getting a lot more, closer to 40 miles to the gallon...it was a small Mazda 3 hatchback. I really do like the kia soul, though! Still a good buy!
If i get a chance I will film an EX as well but now with only one powertrain available the difference is the styling and handful of features. Drive and performance remains the same.
@@MattTheCarguy the 2023 model year confuses me because with previous years the GT was always the top of the line with the most features. But it seems that for whatever reason 2023 I'm having a hard time deciding whether or not the GT or the ex is the most premium vehicle. It appears that some have things that the others don't but I don't understand what qualifies the price if even the most expensive vehicle doesn't include all of the features
Are you in the US? I just checked and its there. Not sure if the link below will take you directly to the model but select - build yours and you should see all trims. www.kia.com/us/en/soul/build?model=B2562&exterior=Steel+Gray&interior=Black+SynTex+%26+Cloth+Seating+Trim&trim=GT-Line
@@MattTheCarguy Thanks! Any idea why some 2023 Soul GT are $24,390 and some are $24,490. I also can't figure out why some dealerships charge $135 for carpet mats and others charge $175.
@@kclark2227 the price for mats should be on the MSRP sticker. As far as the total price difference the only thing that comes to mind is the difference in destination charge depending on dealer location, but I am not sure
I’m buying the GT-Line in Neptune Blue with the tech package. Gorgeous looking car. Love the wheels. Just waiting for it to arrive direct from the factory.
Lucky you! The exact one I’m looking for. Love the Neptune blue and the heated seats. It also has driver lumbar adjust which I have in my 2017 Kia Sportage and a lifesaver for bad backs in long distance driving. Funny how the lumbar support in the Kia Soul is never really mentioned although it’s included. Have fun!

I drive a 2021 Kia K5 GT line but I’m honestly going back to the Soul. The practicality and spacious interior has me wanting back in
I just wish they left the fun Turbo engine in their line up.
Great video. Thanks for doing it.
My pleasure!. Thank you for watching!

I just bought a second soul. They're great cars! Handling is great and I love being able to haul something in the back.

Does the 2023 model have a garage door opener/homelink? I don't think I saw any buttons for it on the rearview mirror.

👍
Bring back the Turbocharged engine, Kia. I guess they want people to buy the Seltos instead. A hybrid powertrain would be excellent as well.
Many people miss the Turbo power....myself included.
That turbo had engine problems. Non turbos are definitely more reliable.
