It isn't, there are multiple pre-recorded bits in this. Its basically a pimped version of those launchpad bits where he is just triggering pre-recorded sounds / tracks. There are entire sections where he could not have put either the sound or automation in. He is definitely a great performer, but to me you have to produce it live for it to count as looping.
It wasn't that long ago when Gene was covering Justing Bieber to get views and now he's throwing drum sticks into the crowd like a rock star. Mad respect :)
