There is so much knowledge and craftsmanship in this demo. This is a monumental video showing how amazing the old Moogs are and showing what Daniel is capable of. A piece of Art.
Sweetwater You can tell!! I always love your demos, yet this one is very special. To think for a moment that this is just ONE of the vast plethora of things that you do with gleam at Sweetwater (and with music), it is really a beautiful thing to realize and witness. Good frequencies to you always Daniel! Talented one! ❤️
I’m so so glad that Moog is able to do this, make a colossal behemoth juggernaut of a modular synth complete with those familiar old school sequencers! And I’m so glad to see someone whose had proper apprenticeship regarding its usage, it’s delightful. Regarding pricing, what you’re paying for is quality handcrafted gear from experts and pioneers in this arena. Those sounds speak for themselves, and they’re priceless. The satisfaction that one reaps from this is potentially limitless, and contagiously captivating! THATS why it’s still around! I’m so glad even just to see it run and to think it was made this year and not refurbished, it’s a really bright day for aspiring young musicians because it’s not unattainable. These pieces of gear have spirit and heart and that contributes in such positive ways, not only for music but also every aspect of our lives, when we let it! Thank you for sharing your insight and excitement!
@Rhizosphere , Keith Emerson's Moog synthesizer does not have much difference from the 3P in terms of electronic components, especially if the 3P is added to the extra cabinet with double sequencer. The value you say is based on who used it, not its actual value. Pure snobbery.
You know when you see and hear something, for the first time, so special that kind of shock you? Well, that’s me every time I watch/hear a Moog Modular. Mind bending!
Hi Exquisite Arc. Although my new "Synth Clips" tutorials have mostly used semi-modular and pre-wired synthesizers (so far), many of the tutorials' concepts are fully applicable to modular synthesis as well: ua-cam.com/video/6uPBAj72pvw/v-deo.html Thanks, in advance, for watching! -_Daniel_
I have a small Doepfer Modular system and i think that absolutely is all i need... but man! that hardware looks beautyfull. And the performance was great! Thanks.
Excellent explanations of the modules and demo. $40,000+ for everything...I’ll be sticking to eurorack for a long long time. Love these 5U systems but not the prices. For $40,000 I could buy a Buchla 200e AND a car 🤷🏽♂️
If I remember correctly "The Moody Blues" were one of the first bands to use a Moog. I think they had the nickname of being called the "Smallest Symphonic Orchestra" in the world....
Hi Daniel! Wish I could have ran into you @ gearfest 2019, it was a blast getting to play the Moog One. Still have the Matriarch for next year to try. Or Maybe Moog will come up with a 4-note poly in the vein of the Sub/One models. As others have said, Wow! Love to hear you take this for a spin! Though the Matriarch, One, and these modular systems are like porsche’s I’m glad Moog has the means and cajones to still build them like this and they’re other modular re-issues. Make an Album Please Sweetwater?!
Incredible modular!! Only bummer it's 35K and that's without the sequencer...but OMG, this is the absolute (besides the Keith Emerson wall reboot) is so beautiful!!! Gotta call the bank man and get this thing going!!!!! PERFECT..the 901s etc. 10 osc. OMG!!!
I’ve never seen this specific model but what gets me is how this is 35k and other versions that I have seen are 10+k each, but many years ago we would see these kinds of things at garage sales for a hundred bucks, or people would have them and not be able to use it so they think it’s broken just throwing it all away. Now it’s worth so much money. I always wanted all this stuff but didn’t really know how to use it or have the space to put it all. I wish I would have grabbed it all up.
I just commented on a BoBeats post that Moog synthesizer sounds always make me smile. Well, this one makes me happy (starting around 17:00) So, I smile because I'm happy? Or because Moog instruments are a pathway to happiness?!
Just seeing this a year after this video was posted.. Outstanding synthesizer and superb demo. The only thing that might have added to the atmosphere would have been if you dressed up like johann Sebastian Bach and stood in front of the Moog IIIp to recreate the front cover of Wendy Carlos’s seminal album, “Switched on Bach”.. which put the Moog synthesizer on the want list of many musicians in the late 60’s and early 1970’s !! LOL
The dark background is designed to make the happy, bright-colored patch cables stand out. To get even more color, just add more cables. Thanks for watching!
At the end of the day it's around 50k. I think if you are going to cough up the 35 you will scrape the other 10 for a sequencer. Makes me feel like I got a bargain with the Moog one.
are there any custom chips in this? for example, if the modern world went Soylent Green, can a well equipped tech fix this with common parts? I want to know if this can last to be an heirloom. thanks!
@Rhizosphere If I could choose, I would take the System 55 first because of thr stability and features of the 921's, and they do sound great it seems!. But then complement it with a model 10 for the 901 goodness.
This sounds amazing but I don't see anything I can't get for cheaper in a custom Eurorack built systems minus the size and the Moog name. I find it hard to believe that the modern manufacturing costs to produce these are the same as in the 1970's-80's, when Moog did their first run of modular synths systems. The $35k price point is baffling. Great demo and presentation. It's just a hard sale based on cost.
I think they're only building 40. I grabbed number 33. They're was an ad back in the day that Said "if you can afford a truck, you can afford a synth". Compare it to a 1960 fender strat.. same price.. ill take the moog any day over the strat
If I’m going to spend $60,000 on a synth, It’s Ashville I want to visit, not Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Daniel, thanks for the review. I don’t get all the mixers. Why not 16 inputs after all this time, instead of 4x4s?
I nearly spat my coffee out when I saw the price. I was thinking $10,000 max. How wrong was I...oh well, it felt good to fantasise about owning one for a few seconds at least.
It's basically the same as a System 55, except the modules are all housed in portable cases, and instead of the 960 sequencer module, it has a big mixer module .
I have my mouth still open...it's incredible... it's an orchestra, a kind of an alien orchestra...Moog + Fisher= PARADISE OF SOUND!!!
There is so much knowledge and craftsmanship in this demo. This is a monumental video showing how amazing the old Moogs are and showing what Daniel is capable of. A piece of Art.
Thank you, Oscar! I enjoyed reading your comments.
Thanks for watching!

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL performance and demonstration Daniel!! ❤️🙏🏻❤️
Thank you, Lisa. It was so much fun to make!

Well done again, @Sweetwater!
Agree!
Ernesto Romeo AGREED!!!! ❤️

Man, I wish Daniel had a musical project. I could listen to him all day.

Well said, my friend!
Holy smoke... the greatest synth demoer meets the greatest synth of all time!!
Daniel is my favorite dude to watch on synths, he's got a huge amount of charm and you know he's the real deal.
@@crolodon8024 If you don't already, also check out Doctor Mix. The best synth guy on UA-cam after Daniel.

Daniel is much more than a sales man, he's truly an artist.

Mind bending!
If there was an Oscar for synth demos this one would win it.
BubbaSatori Bravo!!!!!!
The true heart of Daniel FIsher emerges. That was great.
The part starting around 16:00 sounds really amazing. What a beautiful fat sound! Another brilliant demo from Daniel!
I saw the tear in your eye when you said, "I've run out of time." I feel your pain, this is literally the synth of my dreams.
absolutely beautiful performance at 15'30", very controlled and tasteful
These performances were incredible! Thank you Daniel for sharing it with us! Amazing!
That performance is a thing of absolute beauty! So damn good man it literally brought a tear to my eye, You are a master of your craft my friend!
The beauty of a synthesizer appears when in such magic hands!!
Bravo, Daniel Fischer!! You play a Moog as well as anybody- incredible performance 👍
We have come full circle. Modular is still king and here is the king of kings. Bob would be shocked and delighted i guess
How can you not be inspired by such a beautiful system. great demonstration too.
Thank a lot Daniel for the precise description of this synthesizer and for the demo. It's very informative and interesting!
Daniel, love this and the Model 10 demo video! Beautiful music, fantastic explanation and overview.
Sublime programming and musicality.
That intro took me to 70s Doctor Who! I love it :))))
Thats Just... Sacral machines, sacred sound, sacred music. Just heavenly, just perfect!

Hahahaha I love this comment! It can be both complimentary or condescending 🤣
FINALLY, a decent video on my favourite synth
Knew he'd go straight to the fixed filter for the atmosphere effects! Amazing.
These are sounds from Heaven!
Ha! Daniel this thing looks like a riot, you lucky dog. What a world we live in.
Thank you Daniel, Moog and Sweetwater, although the M83 demo was good, this one is what this synth deserves. What a top notch musical instrument! :-)
This guy has the best job in the world.
Daniel Fisher needs a modular synthesis Masterclass I’d buy that shit instantly

Unbelievably great Daniel! Very creative patches, awesomeness!!
This really is the greatest synth ever
Sure dig your synth demos, Dan. You're like a kid in a candy store
Awesome video as always guys!
Guess I’ll have to settle with playing my Moog One. This inspires me to make some new presets for sure!
""settle" o_O

"Little Moog vignettes"??? Talk about understatement!
Is it weird that I've watched this like 10 times?
You’re not alone! I have a IIIp and still watch this because it’s a masterpiece of demonstration and synthesis talent!
Who needa a car anyways? There a bus stop in front of my condo. I love this Moog! Good demo Daniel.

If only I had a spare $35k lying around.
Oh Hell yeah!
@* AnimalHeadSpirit * LookMumNoComputer just built his own.
This one is 45k
please do an in depth of the moog matriarch
Hi John. I totally will, just as soon as I get my hands on another Matriarch. (I had to give that one back right after the video:-(
If this is over 10,000
my guess is... 32,000
Woah! I was close but I'm still stumped it's a full 3000 more. Excellent stuff!
plus 11k for the sequencer and the keyboard :)
i wouldnt be angry if this was next months giveaway!!

you have.
Don't forget about the $1.1k controller
Amazing synth!
Beyond cool!
nice job !
Wow, that Moog is awesome there's a store right next to Pizza Hut where I work, I'll pick one up tomorrow.
Hi Blue Blue. See if your Pizza Hut does Half-Off Wednesdays. Thanks for watching!
Rhizosphere I guest it would be safe to assume the pizza. Lol
Does Moog Music have any plans of reissuing the Keith Emerson sample and hold module? That would really be the dot over the i.
Awesome
That first bit sounds like a dinosaur snoring: and I mean that in a good way!
Wow, lovely😍
are there any custom chips in this? for example, if the modern world went Soylent Green, can a well equipped tech fix this with common parts? I want to know if this can last to be an heirloom. thanks!
Hi SuperJV4x. I'm not sure, but I'll see if I can get an answer from Moog. Thanks for watching! -_Daniel_
Hey Daniel! Which is your favorite? System 55 or III?
I guess if i could only have one, it'd be the System 55 since that's what I started on back in 1980. Thanks for watching!
@Rhizosphere If I could choose, I would take the System 55 first because of thr stability and features of the 921's, and they do sound great it seems!. But then complement it with a model 10 for the 901 goodness.

Hi Jeffrey. I'm holding out for Hawkwind!
The IMAX 70MM of analog. :)

is this now unobtanium? thanks
Amazing!
I just wonder what 50 Moog Mother 32s could sound for the equivalent price. I guess bloody excellent and mental!
@Rhizosphere I've got enough noises with two Mothers and a Behringer D.
The best synth music I have ever heard. I need to sell my house for this
If I’m going to spend $60,000 on a synth, It’s Ashville I want to visit, not Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Daniel, thanks for the review. I don’t get all the mixers. Why not 16 inputs after all this time, instead of 4x4s?
Hi Jed. The Moog IIIP Synthesizer is sold out and no longer available at either location. Thanks for watching! -_Daniel_
Great!
Mother of god this is amazing. Please let me have one 🤪👍
As low as $1,459/month. xD
I nearly spat my coffee out when I saw the price. I was thinking $10,000 max. How wrong was I...oh well, it felt good to fantasise about owning one for a few seconds at least.
Splendid
Reminds me a lot of Kid A with its dreary and spacey tones
only $35,000? Moog has another working man's synthesizer reissue.
that's double what i make in a year...
The rich working man, you mean.
@@RenaissanceEarCandy I think he was being sarcastic... Oh well, Volca Mod for the rest of us right?
No this one is 45,000
And i was happy just to get a Grandmother the other day..
Ok moog, well done. Now how
about bringing back the drum
synthesizer???
@RomeroFanboy
No, not the d-fam.
The moog 1130! It came out the same
time as Keith's 3C synthesizer.
Wow... Is this better than the system 55?
It's basically the same as a System 55, except the modules are all housed in portable cases, and instead of the 960 sequencer module, it has a big mixer module .
