I'm glad you made this video, without it I never would have found out that they released these as STL files. These building look fantastic and I can't wait to print them.
I've been waiting for years for them to release the .stl files since they first mentioned it the Adam Savage video (I wasn't sure it was ever going to happen). I hope they choose to release the living trees from that video too!
This is a nice setup. I loved the painting you did, especially the thatched straw house. I like how the houses are interchangeable but I wish the bases of the house were more unquie. I'll have to see their lineup and see if there are differences.
Hello, great channel! I've just discovered it. Want to ask about printing quality and time - at what quality (layer height) do you print your wargaming/terrain models ? And how long does it take to print one moderate building - for example from Hagglethorn Hollow ? Which material do you prefer ? Maybe you have some video about this - in that case please refer mi to that. Thank you.
I print at .2mm height with all other settings on default with PrusaSlicer. I use eSun+ or Hatchbox PLA filament. These take a LOOONG time to print--just the base for the small cottage takes 18 hours.
I print all of my terrain at .2mm height. I think that is plenty of detail for me although I know other folks do it at .15 for less obvious layer lines.
What was your average printing time per floor? I looked at this set but just didn't like it as much now as I did when I saw the video Adam Savage had. A lot of thing I liked from that video were the Trees and other interesting "Non-Building" pieces. Maybe they'll put some of those in as they get further into the campaign.
You can purchase the STL files on Printable Scenery's website: tinyurl.com/ynrn7exp Tons of people have the Creality Ender 3--I have the hassle-free but more expensive Prusa MK3S.
Meh...doesn't everyone have a million times more files than they're ever going to print? I mean, I have more than 4 TB of .stl's (170+ GB are PS) and I know they will never get printed, so I'm done with yet ANOTHER kickstarter from Printable Scenery.

Thanks for the review! Also, there is now an add-on for some tree creatures and a nice fence with a gate and posts.
Great review. Backed this about a week ago as I was disappointed I’d missed the original KS. I like your thatch roof. Very nicely done.
Thanks for this, good to see your take on the painting. By the way, the technique is called 'overbrushing' instead of drybrushing.

Yes, they have the living trees as addons.
Oooooooh, i missed that! Thank you!
Weta workshop is from Wellington, New Zealand.
Not Australia
Thank you

Great job! Did you make the designs? What software did you use? Thanks!
This is why I bought a $500 3d printer.

oh he didn't just call New Zealand..... Australia
I love the paint job! You mentioned that you would use these for a skirmish game. What skirmish game do you play that fits this building style?
Moonstone--will be coming out with a review video in about a month!
Paint jobs turned out great, buddy...very beefy structure to the buildings...Jim
@gaminggeek What layer height did you use? I did my first print at .16 and wasn't sure if it was worth the time. Thanks.

Trees were just offered as an add-on, 3 creatures plus gates and fences, and they are going to offer more in future.
The base takes about 18 hours at .2mm height and 10% infill.
What's the footprint of the largest part? I'm interested in seeing if this fits on a Sonic Mighty build plate.
Super cool!
what brush are you using for drybrushing?
Anyone have a list of paints? All the Pantone codes floating around don’t account for the wood stain wash :(
GOD I wish I was there to back this. I want all these.........I just dont know what to print them on!?

What Layer Height did you use for the print?
.2mm height.
Did you scale those down, because they look smaller? I see, it's because it's the cottage.
Yeah, it's the smallest building--by reference, the larger buildings seem plenty big.
@@gaminggeek241 Yeah I figured it out after you said it was the cottage. Thanks.

First PS KS i'll skip. Just not a fan of the aesthetic of this series.
