    I got this game for Christmas and have not been able to play it yet. After showing clips of this to my "game gang", we are planning on playing it next week. Super excited!!! Once again, thanks for a great video.

    I love when you guys do card games. They are fun to watch and easy to follow. They also make for a dramatic finish most of the time.
    Btw when Lincoln was complaining that his hand was bad, I thought to myself "no way Lincoln! you always do well!" And what do you know his gamble later pretty much wins it.

      Lol. I know, Lincoln has won in about 90% of the videos i've watch. He's really good!

    Great show guys! Seemed pretty dire at the end there when Dave went down. Nice to see you guys get a win. :)

    Tense and tetchy towards the end of the game...
    Well under £20 in UK - that feels well worth the money. I don't think it's a classic, but I'm definitely going to pick it up. I do like Dave in the party, he does bring voice and controversy. As much as I liked seeing Ambie and Toby a couple of weeks back, they were too polite, too quiet - perhaps it was first night nerves! Can't wait to see Aaron back at the table. Good work all. Great content.

    I need Dave to shuttle that thick deck of card. It’s so pleasing to hear the sound of his perfect shuffling.
    P.s. great run through! I would buy this game if the cards and boards are with better art :)

      Thanks, Sophie. For whatever reason, I've always been good at shuffling. I was bragging about that once, when a friend challenged me to shuffle a stack of uncooked pepperoni slices. I blew him away (and kinda surprised myself, as well) by totally rocking it :)

      I'm always excited to see new GameNight! episodes. So that was just a compliment to their work. I really appritiate it.
      I watched and liked it a few hours later and I think it's a pretty neat game and an awesome episode. So thanks again to the crew!

    The rule about players not showing their cards openly is likely intended to foster discussion around the table and mitigate alpha gaming.

    • @Rik77
      @Rik77 6 років тому +2

      Goya Solidar absolutely otherwise you could just lay all your cards down on the table and make it a solo game

      Exactly!

      Fortunately no-one in this group could be considered an alpha gamer.

  • @leeko8581

    I think the talking rule has a few effects. It means you can't make decisions for other people about what that other person should trade with you, so reduces alpha playing a little. It also increases table talk - without it, I can see how the team could be sat there silently looking at everyone's cards trying to figure out the strategy. And it might also weirdly speed up play because it makes finding the optimal strategy too long, and so people are likely not to try to work out what every player is holding

    Witch and Fighter's banishing is OP. Thief's Loot and Trap also extremely useful.

    Looks like a fun game, probably not for my gaming group but fun nonetheless.

    It seems slightly anti-theme that the fighter proved one of the best at banishing undead. I mean I understand if you look at it more as “smashing into tiny, tiny pieces” rather than “banishing”.

    • @seanrumble
      @seanrumble 6 років тому +1

      True. The game was originally called The Ritual during development. It made a little more sense when players were trying to complete a ritual to close the void.

    At first glance I was really excited about this game. But after watching an ~hour long game that has quite a bit of luck involved with some of the banishing where you draw cards I dunno.
    Plus I could see myself fall into alpha gaming looking for the optimal moves. Since you can share card info with each other freely and there's no completely hidden info I would always be meddling and I hate when I do that. Games like the grizzled have ways to mitigate that in coop games.
    Still, great playthrough you guys are the best!

    2 minutes into the video and this game looks good...sort of abstract with a loose theme

    • @seanrumble
      @seanrumble 6 років тому

      Yup. I often describe it as a cooperative puzzle RPG.

    • @skyblazeeterno
      @skyblazeeterno 6 років тому

      Sean Rumble I think the game drags about 75% through. Something weird thematically about being able to banish non creature cards though....still it looks worthwhile from this video

      Zaq, I'm not sure we will do more episodes of those. We might livestream something but with my schedule right now it will be a while before we are in a place where we can make that happen. Thanks for the note(s) though.
