Whoa Nelley, I posted before and it went out the door. We got the VIN, we win: 6 for Cadillac, D for DeVille, 49 for four door hardtop, S for 500 V8 with four barrel, 6 for 1976 model year, Q for Clark Street, Detroit, MI assembly and the rest is the production sequence. The Clark Street plant closed in December 1987 and you can see the last days of operation online. We got the tag, we can brag: ST76 for 1976 model year, 6CD49 for Cadillac (6) DeVille (CD) four door hardtop (49), FWD for West End Ave, Detroit, MI Fleetwood Body plant with final assembly at Clark Street as noted above, 64C for Light Buckskin Mansion cloth interior trim, 50 for Calumet Cream lower exterior paint, 64T for Light Buckskin vinyl top, 02C for the third week of February 1976 production, AM6 for split front bench seat, V for six-way power passenger seat (with split seat), S comes back to a sunroof which this car does not have, and F is for carpeted floor mats. When you bought a Cadillac like this in 1976, you made in the world. This was the pinnacle year for Cadillac and the last "big" model year, although the downsized cars in 1977 were very well-received and sold very well. Whoa Nelley, 1976 and hit the bricks. The post was so nice, I did it twice. 5-0-0 and gotta go. Cadu and it's over for you. Calumet Cream needs a dream. Made in MI and going bye-bye. Body by Fleetwood and now it ain't no good. Cadillac ain't comin' back. That's it, time to quit. Assembled at Clark Street and now it's a big heap. Going to be flat and that's that. Big block took a flop. Going to get squished and the Cadillac faithful, many here, maybe Benny, and you betcha the Google Man are going to be very, very, very, very, very pissed.
Like these videos. Takes me back when these cruisers were new. People loved em. For in there day they were the rides to have and be seen in, not to mention all the power accessories. Thanks for the memories.
This one still had the rear bumper filler panels. It's had to find many with those today on Cadillacs (and other GM products) of this time that have survived. Thanks always for sharing.
I had a two door one of those ,it was the last car my grandpa ever drove . My grandma gave it to me and I drove it for a little over a year and then transmission went bad and I didn't have the money to get another one with raising 4 children. I hated to do that because the body was straight and the motor ran great. Thanks for bringing me back to a wonderful time in my life .
Anthony, In 1970, the 500cid Caddy engine made 400hp and 550lb ft of torque. By 1976, it was neutered down to 190hp and 360lb ft of torque. Even though the 1970 engine is a beast, generally, it's not a performance engine, mainly because of its intake manifold and heads. While most all other engines had medium or high rise (

Unfortunately that car is in a junkyard that is a 3 round trip for me. I don't go to there too often. I do believe those extensions are reproduced now. I believe I've seen them on eBay
Benny and the jets I am surprised that the rear bumper fillers look good that would have been a good one to do a will it run video motor looks good 80,000 is nothing for those 500 cubic inch the interior looked like it was treated good.
Another great video of a classic Cadillac. Although, You really need to wear gloves, Benny, when touching some of these parts (this car's hood, for example). Rust cuts aren't good. We don't want anything bad to happen to you.
My father in law sold his brother a 85’ Gucci cadi eldorado mint condition, only 4 made that year, one of each of Gucci color combos. Brought to Marco island where it sat and rusted away!
@Google User GP :It's been going on awhile now I've noticed. The "MAN" appears to be trying to censor you....could it be a copyright thing? If it was, wouldn't UA-cam let you know?
It's interesting, but I wouldn't want it, new or now. They always struck me as incredibly bloated and almost vulgar. An older guy I worked for when I was in college had a hidious green '71. Both he and the Caddy were pigs.

The rust monster has gotten ahold of this one 😳

hello from Tennessee great find 👍 I like when you show the four doors!

Had one of those. Could cruise at 80 mph all day long on the highway 😊
That car is a great parts car!! Tons of parts that really you could take it home and strip it down to the frame!!!!
Thanks for sharing these videos. I really enjoy seeing the automotive history 👍❤️
👍
nice Caddy 4 door hardtop Benny, I like it.
Ah ha! Paper jammed in the vents to hold them steady just like Adam from Rare Classic Cars was talking about!
😮 woah! Now that's a doozy of a Cadillac Benny. 🤯Mind blown
73-77 bumpers are the best ever
I don't understand why the yards damage so many of the cars. Iv seen some of your videos and the doors seem to just get caved in alot 😢😢😢😢
Its salvage! The yards only want to sell the parts and crush the rest. They arent going to treat em with kid gloves.
Are going to buy the doors?
@@danh2134 what?
@@harrymiller8538 yeah I understand that but a door, grill and trim are all "parts" so why destroy the "parts"?
@@danh2134 am I going to buy the doors??? Not if a forklift has caved them in LoL 🤣😂🤣
Be careful Benny when probing questionable brown holes these days!😂
I believe the paint color is cream beige. My parents had a 74 Malibu in that same color.
It's code 50 Calumet Cream exterior paint.
God bless itbenny this is in mint condition compared to the rust belt
Hay Google how many hp's does a 500 cube caddy moter put out to the wheels..?
Depends on the year and model. Google it.
@@googleusergp hum what year had more hp's then??

@@rogergoodman8665 hummm so just put a high rise intake on it then build the bottom end then you got a hell of a moter.
I have 2 of those i can use this car for parts but i life in the netherlands so thats a long way but i see a lot of great parts there
i like sedan devilles from early 1970s.

I'd rock this one, sure. LOL. How about the wife that did the Potamkin commercials?
@@googleusergp I remember her.
Mr. B. Here ! From what I see will make a fair parts car ! If engine & trans are there would make a good hot rod !☕️🧰🔧🛠️🪛
Wondering why that junkyard always props them up on rims for
Easier to remove parts that would require the vehicle to be raised, is my guess. They don't allow you bring a jack
Do you remove parts to sell? I'm in Illinois and would love to purchase the rear filler panels if this is possible from you.
Unfortunately that car is in a junkyard that is a 3 round trip for me. I don't go to there too often. I do believe those extensions are reproduced now. I believe I've seen them on eBay
I took my first driving test in a 75 sedan deville and failed..lol the second time I took it in a citation and passed.😅
Very very large front bumper
Agreed
I live in Wichita Falls, what would that yard charge for the 500?
The name of the yard is BYOT in Elm Mott. They have a website with their prices. Its a self serve yard so you would have to pull it
@@ClassicRideSociety5:35 wow that sure was a owee 😭 did you need a tetanus shot?
Good video 1976 last off the BIG Cadillac if those rear bumper filler panels are not brittle I’d snag those you could sell them for pretty penny .😊✌🏿
Nah, they are reproduced now. Not worth it to get crusty originals and hope that they will be good enough.
What are your thoughts on the carburetor? I was wondering if it would be good to swap onto other engines
@@ClassicRideSociety Get the carburetor, Q-Jets are getting harder to find as cores, although they reproduce them now for certain applications.

In FL, those back tail light fillers aways just get baked away and disintegrate, if the car was near the ocean it's a rust fest.

They were classy in the right colors and with the right options. Some were very gaudy looking indeed.
