Damn beautiful car,the 74-76 is the best looking Caddie ever . 74 is my favorite, they look best black on black and any 92 or older real Caddie (rwd boats) look better with a vinyl top
Classic Category. Over-all paint & body repair starting at 15K. I'll call you when it's done. We don't know what's under that paint?! On the plus side it looks like it's all there.
Thanks Derwin I appreciate you checking out the video…I was going to show the install but it took way too long and the kit wasn’t the best to work with!
I did some audio work on a '74 that was Green with a green interior. Similar wheels and wide whites. Not a spec of rust. He had some money in that one.70's interiors are a trip.
That is the kind of paint job that looks good from far, but is really far from good. Lol! Nice ride though. I used to have a 1979 like it back in the day.
I had a 75 Coupe devil. Yeah the mileage was horrible but man I miss it! I believe this had the “Fleetwood Lite” option which gave it the wreath and crest hood ornament, padded roof and opera lights. He’s lucky the CdV only had rear panel fills unlike the Eldorado which had huge ones up front as well. It’s worth the paint investment, tell him I said so 👌
Nice old car upk. Hope you get to paint it because it will be standing tall when you get done with it. Just so you know there is a old cadillac down at the other end of the yard it is around a 75- 76 if you need any parts. Great video my friend
Ha, I have a 77 Eldo with those fiberglass fillers, and TBH, they suck ! I heard that shops, if they do them, want like 3K to 3500. And after screwing around, I NOW know why. Hours and hours and I don't even know how they are going to look once I prime and block them, as for this 76 caddy, it has the fillers and looks a lot better than without them. I like this car and had I found one at a reasonable price, I would have one. The eldo was a reasonable price, but since it sat 20+ years, everything you touch or is next to what you touch, wants attention. typical old car stuff - brakes, gas tank, carb rebuild, new radiator....these cars have a nylon coated timing gear and the nylon comes off and can get stuck in the oil pick up tube. I like these old, big, luxury cars.
@@DanTheManIOM I agree with you DanTheMan, those fiberglass parts do suck and I had to fight with them for hours but when you get everything right they are a beautiful car💯
Nice looking car I think if the owner loves his car and it's his pride and joy it's well worth getting it sprayed I would say to the owner get it done Also I would like to see exactly how much filler is there behind that paint thank you for the video upking
About the only thing vinyl tops hide is rust, but I've always liked the look on vinyl tops on muscle cars. Vinyl tops were popular from about the mid 60s to about the mid 70s and they were in various colors. Vinyl tops were so popular that the auto parts sold spray on vinyl for that faux look.
Lol I was talking about rust being under the vinyl tops…I agree with you that vinyl tops look good one the 60s and 70s cars Joseph…I appreciate you checking out the video!
Hey king and all subscribers ,, I need some advise . I put down some nice clear on the rear door , I was sooooooo excited to pull the tape off , as I was pulling the tape at the edge of the widow , a huge chunk of clear came off ! Ouch ! Please help so I don’t do this again . I definitely bridged too much clear onto the tape
Are you doing any bodywork before the epoxy or after or is there no bodywork being done…I would check with manufacturer to see if the epoxy you’re using can be painted over
I love 76 Caddy's and that black with the red leather interior w/ sun roof and factory wire wheels wrapped in Bogies is a winning combo all around..but man!..that is the worst paint job I've ever seen..I see cracking/glazing and what looks like what is called Orange Peel..just a poor paint job all around, prepping, painting, wet sanding and finishing and I'd bet my last dollar that if he is going to get a correct paint job and they take this car down to bare metal to start off right they are going to find nothing but rust and Bondo holding this car together..it's going to cost more in time and labor to get it correct than the car is even worth..and we're not even talking about the engine/drivetrain..what a shame, it looks good(from 50ft. away)😎
I agree with you it was some poor work done to it and taking it to bare metal and starting fresh could be opening up a can of worms🤦🏽♂️…I appreciate you checking the Caddy out!
You know that’s deep what you said about “Nothing stopping me from doing what I need to do” I am gonna ride! Thanks UPKing!

Great car for a 1976. Sure was a different world then.
I was surprised how nice it is for a 76 and was a 1 owner until recently…definitely a different world then Garage Hack and they built some great cars!

A paint job would help for sure.
A paint job would definitely help!
Hell I'd probably still be trying to ride motorcycles if that happened to me brother! Hope he gets it painted soon, so we can see it.
I think he’s gonna get it painted Mark so hopefully I’ll be able to show it on the channel!

@@UndergroundPaintKing I have a 76 also mint condition just need those bumper fillers and the installation, thanks for replying.
@@derwingholston2550 it’s not a bad installation once you get the bumper off but these fiberglass parts just didn’t fit good which made the job rough
@@UndergroundPaintKing are abs fillers better?
I honestly would have to do a comparison on the two but I think abs might be the better choice

A good habit to get into is to pull your tape 30mins to a hour after your last coat of clear to help with that issue Crazee! I hope that helps
I waited about 4 hours way too long ! I really appreciate your advise ! Thank you !
@@crazee6821 you’re welcome!
So a car like this would you sand the whole car down and put it in primer then do the body work?
That would be a good process for a car like this ONEDEEEEP!
If that money right I think u need to bless that coupe
I think the owner wants to get it done dat dude They HATE!
@@UndergroundPaintKing indeed. The question is what color n what clear u Gna use
