You're absolutely right about Ahab and Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas. In the last few reactions from The Coral Tombs, you got a few hints about it and even mentioned how weirdly Lovecraftian the album art looked, so you're definitely got it! One of the band members mentioned that their first music video should be special in a way, and I'm glad that they've decided to go in the stopmotion direction. Their sound fits perfectly as a movie/short film soundtrack. I think that in the video, the captain saw revenge against the squid for killing his friend, so even without killing the monster, at least he was able to hurt it, but in doing so, he sustained a few wounds himself and a crack in his helmet. In the end, he decided to spend his final moments beside his friend's tomb and succumb to his wounds, out of guilt - for sending him out in the first place - or out of respect. From what I remember, Ahab doesn't have a lot of "proper" official music videos, except for some live/studio footage mashups, but they're awesome to check out too.
I'm glad to know that you'll check out more doom in the future. This year - in particular - had some proper doom releases, like the new My Dying Bride and a Faroese death/doom band called Hamferd/Hamferð, which has a few music videos out, and a powerful album that was released a few weeks ago that tackles a whaling disaster that happened in the Faroe Islands in 1915. It would be hard for you to do a lyrical analysis since they mostly write in Faroese, but a few of their music videos have an english translation in the description. Either way, even without the lyrics, you can feel the emotional weight of their songs.
