Was at the first show of the North American Tour 2 nights ago. Floor and the band smashed it! I’ve been to a lot of concerts in my years… and I mean “a lot” of concerts but Floors performance and energy and magnetism trumps anything I’ve ever seen. It was a complete privilege to experience it.
"What do I have to add to the World?" Beste Zangers was awesome, lovely to watch. Public reaction "I didn't know it was like that". I giggled at the camera position in the forest, making her look ten feet tall! "Fire" sounds very much Floor. Floor with Elizabeth for tea?
It's hard to believe how lucky I was to get a ticket for PinkPop when I heard NW would be playing there. And then it got even better after hearing Floor would also perform solo. It felt like winning the lottery. And mind you I never ever win anything 😂
Stars perform with their band at big festivals... Legends perform with their solo act "on the side" at big festivals... Superhuman beings coming from Asgard or Themyscira do both... IN THE SAME DAY! 🥰🥰
There's a sense of genuineness about Floor that you don't often see with others. She doesn't give cliched politically correct answers in interviews, with her what you see is what you get.
Nightwish is way more than just metal. It's even more than symphonic metal, because Nightwish compositions are a genre all on it's own. Likewise with Floor's solo music, and even cover music done by Floor brings every song she does to a new level of interpretation unlike previous versions. Floor is simply extraordinary with her abilities no matter what she does.. Everyone who encounters Floor comes to the obvious conclusion that she is the best singer on earth.
Love Floor. Love Nightwish. She is absolutely incredible solo and with Tuomas's band that we all love. She always gives honest and lovely interviews. I am thrilled that Nightwish began their May 2022 North America Tour on Wednesday in Toronto. Here is their World Tour setlist: * Opening drum solo from Music 1. Noise 2. Planet Hell 3. Tribal 4. Elan 5. Storytime 6. She is my Sin 7. Harvest 8. 7 Days to the Wolves 9. Dark Chest of Wonders 10. I Want My Tears Back 11. Ever Dream 12. Nemo 13. How's the Heart (acoustic) 14. Shoemaker 15. Last Ride of the Day 16. Ghost Love Score 17. The Greatest Show on Earth. Let's all get out there and sell out those shows!
It's weird, these days NW concerts give me all kinds of emotions. And ever since Floor Jansen came to NW I find that older Nighwish songs are real tear triggers for me. Maybe it's her voice and the contrast of the band that does that.
@@TuonelaMagazine There aren't many Tarja songs Floor can do justice to b/c she doesn't have Tarja's opera voice but I would love to hear her try. "I Walk Alone" is one(really creepy video). "Swanheart" is another. I've pulled up two Floor/Tarja duets with Nightwish but they are off-key b/c the concerts are from different eras. I don't know why the uploader did that it was almost impossible to listen to. The tuning tonic keys were different. The best duets I've heard Floor do were the ones she did with Simone Simons and her band Epica. Just excellent vocal closeness with Simone singing the upper part and Floor the lower part then they would switch. Perfect match! Tuonela if you haven't heard those numbers you should pull them up. Your fans don't care what kind of music you sing(well not yodel please lol). We love you and we want you to be successful with your music and we want to hear anything from you. As for the voice teachers and opera singers who upload your videos, I have found three who impress me with their analysis of your voice; Elizabeth Zaroff(The Charismatic Voice. she is on youtube singing in front of an orchestra)Linor Oren(she started a women's choir in Amsterdam called The Merry Poppins)and Jesse from Soprano Notes. All three are opera trained but they have listened to you and Nightwish and they have high words of praise for you, Nightwish and Symphonic Metal. With love from Dallas Texas
@@rolsen1304 WOW yeah you obviously know her, thank you for the tip! She's a big fan of Nightwish and Floor. She is referring to an interview she did with a Dutch newspaper (De Volkskrant) in that interview she had an open conversation about her frustrations with Dutch mainstream media not realizing she is an internationally renowned artist.
Two observations of this interview. First, it's almost like Floor doesn't realize what an outstanding vocalist she is. A master of her instrument that few singers possess. And notwithstanding what the corporate mindset about what makes marketable music, that has nothing to do with one's talent. Look how long it took Bonnie Raitt to crack the Grammy code and it wasn't like her voice changed. Or vocalists such as Haley Reinhart may never be played on the radio. Those are not the end all achievements for validation. Second is her comments about metal. There is "metal" and there is Nightwish. While not really a fan per se, (it was Floor that got me to even listen at all), I understand the underlying talent, skill, and unique niche Nightwish inhabits in the metal world. It's like saying Pink Floyd was a typical rock band, or that Frank Zappa was just another rock band. There was nothing typical about them which made them one of a kinds. Floor is one of the most likeable people from what I see and hear from her. It has been my great fortune to have the stars align to be witness to her genius. It only took about seventy years.
@@TuonelaMagazine I'm not sure I'd call it pop really. I sometimes don't even know what that is any more. It seems to change as the years do. While I'm not comparing Fire to country music, country music any more is pop with a twang. I mean really, what is pop? Billie Eilish? or Ariana Grande? All I know is this - I don't even try to compare Floor's vocals to anything. Sure, she draws from several genre's but regardless, I'm just impressed with her use and control of her voice. And, it's not like I'm in love with all of her song choices. If I'm recommending her solo projects to people it goes like this - From Beste' Zangers, Shallow solo (and that is a pop song right? Only she doesn't sing it like a pop song), duet Phantom of the Opera, Slow Love Slow and Storm in a Glass from her Amsterdam show and a live version of Fire she did at HLF8. In fact the first time I heard the recorded version I wasn't impressed all that much (Maybe it was the music video I got distracted by). If I'm referring to Nightwish she's performing with, GLS and Ever Dream but only from the Wacken 2013 show. All I think I know is she's got a generational voice and from watching/listening to Floor I've gone on to appreciate the mastery of other vocalists like Haley Reinhart and Diana Ankudinova and neither 'sounds' like Floor and both have good singing techniques and interesting voices. Both incorporate pop, but there is so much more to it than that don't you think? I guess I didn't exactly answer your question but that's just me expressing my ignorance on the subject.
@@bertjones3010 I'm impressed you know the Dramatic Contralto Diana Ankudinova. Her voice is one of a kind. I have never heard anyone other than Diana possessing a polyphonic voice.
That was pretty funny, K3 always mentions how you always have to be K3 even when you're in a bad mood, you need to smile and pretend you're happy and how that's not always the easiest thing to do, so the dissing K3 was my bad since I gave her that example when I asked her about whether she felt that she had to fake her performance on stage as she was pretty sick during the Tampere and Helsinki show 😂
