@@justinfarr4399 I should have qualified my words to say musical badasses. Because they are outstanding musicians and lookers as well. Hell as far as looks I will give it to Black Pink.
When they come together by the drums theu pulling faces to each other trying to make the other one laugh. . The drummer and the bass player know each other from Tokyo School of Music.
BTW since you’ve already watched Domination from this concert, you’ll notice the end of this video is the same scene as the beginning of Domination. This was song #21 and Domination #22 of the concert.
That whole beginning section to 'Play' is relatively new. They like updating and adding to their songs in their concerts as they go. Onset is their "show off" number lol. I can listen to that song over and over and never get tired of it! Good idea to do back to back. BTW the beginning of Play is just the intro, not in the actual song. Not sure if you noticed how much the "Play" on stage with each other too. They like to make faces and such at each other and actively try to throw off Akane, the drummer. No luck so far! Some of the fancam videos are fun too. You don't get great sound but it's just fun to watch them.

Ha! Two granddaughters, two daughters, one stepson, one great son-in-law, one ex. All under one roof. I've been almost completely gray since about 35. That's 31 years ago. Welcome to Band-Maid. Hope you check out the other Japanese bands that I listed in the other video
MISA!!!!! MISA!!!!!!!!! MISA!!!!!!!! this current version of Play has an added intro that gives you a "friendly conversation" between Misa and Miku. The significance with Miku is that when she started B-M back in 2013 she didn't know how to play a guitar. Now to see her up front going back and forth with the Bass Queen Misa is special moments for many of us Band-Maidiacs. Miku has paid he dues and no longer the weakest link. Of course she had the best teacher, Kanami. You need to hear the Live versions of Real Existence, Wonderland, Don't you Tell Me, Moratorium, Take Me Higher, Turn Me On and Puzzle (Both versions electric and acoustic)
My music journey started, sadly, with a Sonny and Cher concert. I am so glad that I found Band-Maid for the ultimate dessert to a six decade+ meal! My assistant laid a speaker on my chest to help me feel this one. This, THIS is the rock I love!
@@princeofcupspoc9073 Had to Google and you are right - WOW! Highlighted: the Monkees outsold the Beatles and the Rolling Stones combined. This is especially impressive given that 1967 was the year of Sgt. Pepper’s and the Rolling Stones’ Between the Buttons and His Satanic Majesty’s Request.
You may have already read this in previous comments, but the founder of the band, Miku, did not know how to play guitar when she started the band. The lead guitar player, Kanami taught her. Just naturally talented ladies here.
And they all still work tremendously hard to develop and improve their skills constantly - especially Miku, who has come a long way. They are so good they make it look easy, but they put blood, sweat and tears into becoming greater all the time. Literally - their stories cover all three of those.
Count the number of different changes, riffs and grooves in every song. And then note how many times they drop an intro in on their live stuff that had all the elements needed for an entire song of its own. And then take a look at their song catalog. IT NEVER ENDS with these girls! EVERY SONG has more in it musically than most bands can put into an entire album, and for some, an entire career!
Onset the quartet showing off. :) it needs no lyrics the guitars do the singing! small side fact, the cd release was originally only obtained by getting a limited edition version of the singles Bubble & Glory as a SET.
Awesome reaction. Can't beat a two for one review. Well unless you do 3 or more songs next time. And who am I to argue? Can't get enough of Band-Maid. They are a truly phenomenal band. Any band that can perform as good live definitely have the talent and chemistry. These ladies have them. They are great musicians. Technical , yet brings a lot of fun and energy to their music. Truly entertaining. I'm not going to suggest any particular song from Band-Maid for your next review as I am biased and to me all of them are that good. Thanks for the great reaction. Keep it coming.
During "Play" at 10.05, When Saiki is low in front of Akane, if you pay attention, you can hear Saiki holding back her laugh as she sings, rested by the tickling grimaces Akane keeps making while playing, Akane is not normal.😆😆😆😆
Now imagine this: Kanami, the lead guitarist, said she spent hours rehearsing and practicing guitar at Lockdown in 2020. Every day! She said she is now a riff machine. That's a lot to look forward to when they finally start playing live again. Oh my goodness am I excited!
@@tombworld9012 the Studio Coast stuff would have needed to have been on their channel first in order to disappear ;) it never was. all the recordings from that were uploaded were done so by 3rd-party. And their label only started to take them all down after the 2020 show was uploaded multiple times shortly after release and in full length... sucks, but thats how it is. That even sucks more that they started to block everything - even that Akane Comic-con 2016 "Alone" video (yes, a frick'n FANCAM). However they didn't have much stuff from the ZEPP 2018 show either on their channel, they uploaded the couple live vids after the "Conqueror" album the original zepp and coast are out-of-print and sold-out, and japanese never reprint something :( (still hope they do someday)
You sent me down memory lane talking about Kiss and Rush, I seen kiss in the late 70's in the US, however the unassuming band for me was Tesla 1987 in Belfast backing up Def Leppard they literally blew everyone away inc me!! Almost 40 yrs of concert going I want to see Band maid live as they are for me they are the best live band out there. Presently Alice Cooper poison tour is my bench mark and it does not come close to these women!! Enough said 😎
Just for a moment, forget they're all female and forget they're dressed as maids. Two members (MISA - Bass, Akane - Drums) are classically trained pianists and musicians who studied at the Tokyo Academy of Music while Kanami, the lead guitarist, has also been playing piano since the age of 3 or 4 but is concert standard (almost unbelievably, given her skills, she only switched to guitar about 10 years ago!) They all have superb musical ability as well as passion, a lack of ego and the drive to play real, in your face, Rock which is why they are THE best live Rock band on Earth right now. OK, now that's explained, you can go back and marvel at how cute those outfits look and how incredibly beautiful all the band members are. The only band I've seen that is playing live like bands I went to see in the 70's, such as Led Zeppelin or Sabbath or Zappa. Music they write themselves, real guitars, drums and bass played loudly and with passion as well as powerful Rock vocals. They are all really close friends and know how to have fun together on stage, confident as they are in each others’ abilities and skills. They've revived the classic Rock sound and given the genre a much needed kick in the ass, as Babymetal have done for Metal.
*Some Japanese bands to react to:* BAND-MAID [Because now you know why], LOVEBITES [Raise some Hell, and all the other songs], MAXIMUM THE HORMONE [Yoshu Fukushu], CROSSFAITH [Catastrophe], SiM [Killing Me], NINGEN ISU [Heartless Scat], UNLUCKY MORPHEUS [Black Pentagram], YOUSEI TEIKOKU [Astral Dogma], COLDRAIN [Die tomorrow], CRYSTAL LAKE [The Circle], GIVEN BY THE FLAMES [Ronove], ANGRY FROG REBIRTH [2Step Syndrome], SILENTLY SHOOTING TRAITORS [Manipulate], ALDIOUS [Dominator], BRIDEAR [Light in the Dark], CINQ ELEMENT [Destiny], MARY'S BLOOD [Marionette], DOLL$BOXX [Take my Chance] , SOKONINAR [Tenohira De Odoru], HELLO SLEEPWALKERS [Flying Saucer], TELECiDE [Tied up Memories], SPIRITBOX [Belcarra], NEKO [Ghost on a Record], ROTTENGRAFFTY [Hallelujah], DIR EN GREY [Ningen wo Kaburu], X JAPAN [Kurenai], DAZZLE VISION [Second], GALNERYUS [Angel of Salvation], and many more...
Another great reaction. Fun. It's great seeing Band Maid in front of thousands of fans but seeing them in a small venue up close is fantastic.... and the energy is no different. They just bring it every time they play. Brilliant.
Onset: Mind-blowing...like an Amsterdam Maid cafe, serving special cakes!! Play: They do a great intro to this in the 2017 concert...but then here...Miku joins in too on rhythm guitar. It's a joy to see the band's progression. At the end of Play...I was craving Domination, which starts any second. Their energy in those songs, near the end of a 2 hour concert, is awesome.
MISA !!!!!! MISA!!!!!! MISA!!!!!!!!!!! Onset is one of my top 5 all time fave from B-M. You don't see to many Hard Rock instrumentals now a days. Especially very good ones. It's a good break for Saiki during a 2 hour concert.
I love Band-Maid and you can't go wrong with any song suggestion given to youso I won't beat that dead horse! Instead, I'll beat this dead horse and keep giving you this list of band and song suggestions. If you want Japanese Metal here are a few recommendations: Maximum the Hormone: Yoshu Fukushu Unlucky Morpheus: Black Pentagram Undead Corporation: Make Me Crazy Lovebites: When Destinys Align Galneryus: Raise My Sword DOLL$BOXX (more rock funk with metal elements): Sekaiwa Kitto Aiwo or Shout Down If you want something fun try this Ladybaby: Nippon Manju These bands and songs are just the tip of the iceberg. From these reactions you'll get many many more! Keep rocking 🤘😁🤘
You've got a great list here, I agree wholeheartedly. I would offer just one addition, Ningen Isu-Heartless Scat. Kind of a Judas Priest vibe . . . well, maybe more like Buddhist Priest. Definitely worth a look. Edit: Spelling
@@bob2161 I agree, those guys are great! I was just giving him a short as an appetizers to get started with. There are several great bands out there from all over the world 🤘😊🤘
Hand over heart for the little hat. Also for "SAY!" It's really clear going from the 2018 show to the 2020 one how much of a disservice the 2020 mix does to the instruments in favor of getting the crowd.
I think the thing with Band-Maid is during their live shows, they feed off of the energy of the crowd and give it back and then some. I love Lovebites, but they are just not as animated as Band-Maid is on stage. I'm 58 and I have never, ever been obsessed with a band like this before.
Love your reaction..for me your pronunciation is so clear that makes Asian people easier understanding what's ur saying which is good to learning english by watching reaction.nice work dude! maybe do August burns red -composure next time? oldskule metalcore rocks!
Gonna throw you a bone here with the names. Singer: Saiki (sigh - key) Drums: Akane (ahh - kah - neh) L Gt: Kanami (kah - nah - mee) R Gt: Miku (mee - koo [like "cool"]) Bass: MISA (mee - sah) I've said this before in other reactions but these ladies are actually prog musicians in a hard rock band. You nailed it when you said there is SO MUCH going on that it is hard to pick it out unless you focus your ears on just one instrument each listen through. Their songs are onions you have to peel with your ears. Give it a try. Dave Grohl and Foo Fighters need to take these girls out on tour. THey would explode and fit Foo Fighters overal vibe AND they would push Dave even harder than he pushes himself. How much freaking confidence do you have to have in order to turn your back to the audience for an extended period of time and play FOR and TO the other members of the band? Total badass.
A year has passed. Here I am, looking back at some of OSN's older reaction videos. Went through the comments section and saw these comments. Probably not the first time I saw them (might have seen them last year already), but now I'm looking at them with the year having played out. Dave Grohl and Band-Maid were indeed set up to play on the same stage, on the same day, at Aftershock 2022. It would have been our dream come true, but sadly (and I say this with tears in my eyes) it now cannot come to pass since the unfortunate demise of Taylor Hawkins caused Foo Fighters to withdraw from Aftershock...... How differently these comments hit home now.....
She has mentioned Eddie as one of her prime inspirations. I think she has taken it farther in integrating tapping runs into the music organically though.
Thank you for the great review! This really is a world class group of musicians, i've been listening to them (and Lovebites) non-stop since i started digging through the Japan Rock/Metal scene, early on in the year. So much amazing talent coming out from japan right now. Stay safe.
I'm an old school nerd who's 45 too.. and I have 3 daughters as well lol.. However, I live in Japan and have been aware of Band Maid for a very long time. I'm totally a fan now. Not always the case, but after seeing them live... Yeh.. You should check out wonderland live from them., It's a lesser known song.. But as a percussionist, I think you'll appreciate what Akane and Misa are doing in the back end. Masterpiece of a song. Especially if you like Rush. It's their most Rush-like song.
Band Maid is awesome. Only band that I ever waited in line for a few hours to get up close to stage for a concert and was able to get right next to stage on Kanami's side when they were playing in NYC last year. Wish you got to discover them earlier though because YT pulled down a lot of their videos from their Zepp show. First song I heard from them was "Take Me Higher" from that concert and was instantly hooked the back and forth between MISA (bass) and Kanami (lead guitar) during their solos is awesome.
"These are all going on the playlist too, by the way." Spoiler Alert: *ALL* the BAND-MAID songs are going to end up on your playlist. You might as well just buy the albums now ;-)
@@MrEdwar084 They have 6 (about to be 7 in January) full albums. Only the last three albums, 'Just Bring It', World Domination', 'Conqueror,' are fully written by the band. The label was very controlling on the first three albums and didn't allow the band to write their own stuff. New single dropped today called 'Different'.
They have put out 3 dvd/Blu-ray of concerts over the last few years, that is where the quality videos are coming from. I am willing to bet that Budakan will have a video also since it is such a goal for the band.
Onset was my first Band Maid song, they transform me in a rabitt stunned by the quality of japanese rock and metal music scene, mere months ago I don't even know one japanese rock band and today I can't stop listen to them. React to Unlucky Morpheus, you gonna love it. Technical symphonic power metal, superb songwriting and a wonderful singer.
Good honest reaction. They have an earlier MV called Thrill. It's classic hard rock style. Not as crazy as these live performances but it shows their versatility with rock genres.
The more you listen to Band Maid wire in to Miku's back-up vocals and how precise she is and her harmonies with Saiki. I feel she doesn't get the recognition she deserves, though being the founder of the group and stepping down as original lead singer to pull a stronger Saiki in.......AND learning to play guitar in the process, she truly is an amazing talent......as they all are. Oh Yeah..."PLAY" was the 19th song of this show. Treat yourself to this DVD from their website for a Christmas present to you.......you will not be disappointed and worth every penny.
MISA MISA MISA! not the opener but still awesome. "Onset" (Japan and Europe) "Don't be Long" (US) is done about mid to two thirds of the way thru the Okyu-ji to give the Vocalist Sai-chan a break.
I have to say as a 50 year old musician and fan of old school metal, hard rock, and anything heavy, Band-Maid is on par with all the greats. I have seen many great bands live such as Tool, Rush, Iron Maiden, Metalica, Pink Floyd (1979 with Roger Waters), Black Sabbath (with Dio and later with Ozzy), Soundgarden (loud love tour), and practically every significant band in the last 30 years. And I have to say Band-Maid after seeing them live last year at the Echoplex in LA, was in par with all of them and I must agree with the one commenter as possibly the greatest active touring band along with Tool being the other active touring band. I will say the atmosphere of those in the crowd was great, alot of guys my age who were equally blown away by the show. They were relentless, firing track after track with precision and energy.
I think you mentioned on one of your earlier videos you where going to check out the Warning (3 young sisters), if you like the more old sounding hard-rock you won't be disappointed. If you want more female singers you should check out the band Halestorm. If you want more power-metal I suggest Sabaton, the singer has quite deep voice a bit like the singer from Ramstein. All of their songs is based on history, real events, real persons and battles. They have a few amazing videos, as well as a number of live performances for example "The Great Tour" of 2020. Furthermore the drummer of Sabaton is married with Floor Jansen.
First, "welcome back" to the world of metal and/or rock music. 🤘 Just finished watching all your reaction videos to Band-Maid up to here. And I have to say, to see from video to video, how your opinion about them has changed or 'evolved', was fun to watch. 😄 I myself have become totally addicted to these ladies and their music over the last months. And for me, as for many of their fans, they are perhaps the Best 'Package' the rock genre has to offer in a long time and at the moment. But I'm not going to start to convince anybody of that, everybody should form his own opinion. But I would like to agree with you in one point. The language or the content of the lyrics doesn't really matter if you have so much individual talent on stage that the music of either a single part or, as in this case, the whole band speaks a universal language that can appeal to everyone in some way. Last but not least, I would like to recommend the song "Secret My Lips" of which there are two versions. One is the original Band-Maid version and the other one is a version which the ladies actually released as an April Fool's joke under their alter ego "Band-Maiko". The song title is then appropriately "Secret Maiko Lips". I think these two videos together would be a good for another 2in1-reaction and are a little showcase of their versatility. 😉
I could listen to these two songs back to back forever! When Kanami is tapping, my jaw was on the floor! Misa on bass is just killing it! Did you noticed how fluid her change from picking to slapping? Amazing! Band-Maid excels live! Not that their mv's are bad, but a band that revs you up live like this is rare and fantastic! Miku able to do the back and forth with Misa is awesome, considering she didn't even play when she formed the group! Pigeon power! Do they love their fans? Oh yes! Did you notice Saiki almost lose it when Akane was goofing with her, fun! Band-Maid is just fun and happiness!
Some people might think they put such an enjoyable show because the concert was filmed ... it would be a big mistake, that's how they play ANY concert, playing two hours at 150%, with incredible stamina and dedication. And you're totally right: that's how you win the audience!
I've been watching in the corner thinking, oh what will OldSkuleNerd say about this, once in awhile. I gotta have to subscribe to this, because you're honest like a friend would be. :) I tried to describe but there's no button for it, so I just pressed the subscribe button, hope that's good too. Love the Band Maid videos :D
Now you have been blown away by the drums bass and guitars. i recommend wonderland live for some vocal bliss and then the song i think epitomize Band-Maid as a whole the music video for blooming
Just found your reaction videos yesterday , really enjoying your stuff , I’m kind of like you I’m 53 and gave up on rock and metal thanks to grunge , now thanks to UA-cam I’m find all this great music around the world , I know you said something about babymetal , if you want to see anything by them try road of resistance or Ijime, Dame, Zettai live Also the hu band is very interesting
Two small correction: (1) The girls nominated drummer Akane as their leader - due to her organization. (2) Line Cube Shibuya 2020 concert songs in order: #5 Play and # 15 Onset.
Now you have a lot more great things to discover from BAND-MAID. Welcome to the rabbithole. Next stop on your journey should be Germany. I strongly recommend the band Null Positiv with their song: "Wo Rauch ist, ist auch Feuer" Elli the singer has a fantastic voice.
Play wasn't the first song of that show. It was the third from last. In fact, if you watch closely, you'll notice the end of Play is the beginning of Domination. The first song of this show (Shibuya, feb 14 2020) was Rinne...which is also a face melter.
Hello, just to clarify, "Play" did begin as an instrumental that they were composing in the studio and, yes, Saiki did like it so much she wanted to sing to it and asked Miku to whip up her lyrical magic...but "Play" never made it to the live stage as an instrumental--at least never as a full song. Turning the song from an instrumental to a lyrical song all happened within the studio setting. Also, at 12:12 you mentioned this being the first song of the show but it was in fact #20 and #21 out of a 23-song set. The song "Domination" is immediately next, which I believe you already reacted to. 🤘😊
DUDE!!!! 50+ year old head banger here. I just got the album Brand New Maid. It has alone and FREEDOM on it. The REST is JUST AS GOOD. If you do just audio ones, LOOK AT ME and then ORDER. Those two are sort of like Journey's Feeling that Way and Anytime as one goes right into the other.
Great reactions! +1 like +1 subscribe. Based on your comments and the songs you have heard so far, I would recommend these next (exact YT video names if YT): Most metal song: BAND-MAID / 輪廻 "RINNE" (Official Music Video) Best guitar duel: (You can't find the right video for this on YT anymore only bad audio quality videos exist on YT, you'll need to find on a different site or rip the video and audio from another reactor's video) "Don't you tell me - Live" Best vocal performance: BAND-MAID / Wonderland (Official Live Video) Best Japanese traditional style song: BAND-MAIKO / secret MAIKO lips (Official Music Video) My personal favorite Band-Maid song: BAND-MAID / alone (Official Music Video) Nothing against their live performances, which are amazing, but some of these songs are best enjoyed from their official music videos. Keep the reactions coming!
Here are some musically interesting performances: Devon Townsend - Kingdom Cradle of Filth - Nymphetamine Slipknot - The Nameless Lamb of God - Overlord Mushroomhead - We Are the Truth The tempos, vocal styles, mood, etc all change throughout these, and they will take you in new directions.
LOVE THIS BAND!!! .... If you want more joy you must also check out THE WARNING (three young sisters from Mexico). For me, right now, the two best bands out there. (Plus The Warning Army will bring a few hundred subscribers) As a father, you must check them out. And more Band-Maid please!
If you're interested in doing another fun double reaction with Band Maid, then look up their song Secret My Lips. There is a second version of this song called Secret Maiko Lips that was released as an April fools joke a few years ago. Both are excellent!
First timer to your review vids. I like your style. Love Band Maid. They are puttin' on a live streaming show on the 13th. Check their website. I've seen two and they are epic.

Adorableness and badassery is debatable. I agree with you but Babymetal takes it for Adorable and badass

If you want to hear their heavier metal side, check out the official MV for “Rinne”.
For a softer rock ballad try “Daydreaming”.
I will second these two suggestions.
Agree. Daydreaming is a masterpiece and arguably Bms most melodic song. Doesn't get reacted to near enough. I would also add Blooming to the list
You forgot to suggest having a box of tissues nearby for the guitar solo in "Daydreaming" - or, whatever cures goosebumps.
BTW since you’ve already watched Domination from this concert, you’ll notice the end of this video is the same scene as the beginning of Domination. This was song #21 and Domination #22 of the concert.

A certain MR EDDIE VAN HALEN would be impressed with KANAMI'S
tapping technique.
I wish EDDIE VAN HALEN could see his 5150 AMP standing tall on stage as these lovely maids’ shred!!!! Hope to see them live in 2021 rocking CALIFORNIA!!!!!
Originally, Kanami played Addictone guitars but once she was
noticed, she’s been PRS all the way!
Kanami- PRS / Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier + 8 or 9
different pedals
Miku- Zemaitis Custom / EVH 5150 (EDDIE VAN HALEN) stack + various pedals
MISA- Black Cloud custom 5 string bass / Orange stack
Akane- Drum Kit: Tama Star Bubinga, Snare Drum: Ludwig, Cymbals: Zildjian (left to right)
Oh, by the way- JIMMY PAGE OF (LED ZEPPELIN) loves BAND-MAID, enough

Excellent!!! Doing Play and Onset together is an Outstanding idea..
Band Maid are ..... the best of the best!!!!!!!!!!!!! Over the top !!!!!!!!😊😍😘
My music journey started, sadly, with a Sonny and Cher concert.
I am so glad that I found Band-Maid for the ultimate dessert to a six decade+ meal!
My assistant laid a speaker on my chest to help me feel this one. This, THIS is the rock I love!
Mind Blowing: Little unknown Jimi Hendrix opening for The Monkeys.
Actually that's pretty well known. Did you know that the Monkeys outsold the Beatles? For one year, anyway.
100%
That fits also to the K-ON! story somehow 😄
I think Saiki would've kept it together with just the faces Akane made, but when she kept holding up her drumstick on the pauses that set her off.
@@tombworld9012 yes. it can be as you say
"Akane is not normal."
And we're so glad.
Now imagine this: Kanami, the lead guitarist, said she spent hours rehearsing and practicing guitar at Lockdown in 2020. Every day!
She said she is now a riff machine. That's a lot to look forward to when they finally start playing live again. Oh my goodness am I excited!
Onset was from 2017. Play is from February 2020. Play is the 21 of a 23 song playlist. Domination is #22. I still giggle too!🤘
Onset is from the 13th of April 2018 at Zepp Tokyo.
You are correct...my bad.
@@sobabruddah7576 Yeah, I think you were thinking of the Studio Coast concert, which has almost entirely disappeared from their channel.
@@tombworld9012
the Studio Coast stuff would have needed to have been on their channel first in order to disappear ;)
it never was. all the recordings from that were uploaded were done so by 3rd-party. And their label only started to take them all down after the 2020 show was uploaded multiple times shortly after release and in full length... sucks, but thats how it is. That even sucks more that they started to block everything - even that Akane Comic-con 2016 "Alone" video (yes, a frick'n FANCAM).
However they didn't have much stuff from the ZEPP 2018 show either on their channel, they uploaded the couple live vids after the "Conqueror" album
the original zepp and coast are out-of-print and sold-out, and japanese never reprint something :(
(still hope they do someday)
I discovered this band last week. Cant stop watching till now. The band is a killer.
*Some Japanese bands to react to:*
BAND-MAID [Because now you know why], LOVEBITES [Raise some Hell, and all the other songs], MAXIMUM THE HORMONE [Yoshu Fukushu], CROSSFAITH [Catastrophe], SiM [Killing Me], NINGEN ISU [Heartless Scat], UNLUCKY MORPHEUS [Black Pentagram], YOUSEI TEIKOKU [Astral Dogma], COLDRAIN [Die tomorrow], CRYSTAL LAKE [The Circle], GIVEN BY THE FLAMES [Ronove], ANGRY FROG REBIRTH [2Step Syndrome], SILENTLY SHOOTING TRAITORS [Manipulate], ALDIOUS [Dominator], BRIDEAR [Light in the Dark], CINQ ELEMENT [Destiny], MARY'S BLOOD [Marionette], DOLL$BOXX [Take my Chance] , SOKONINAR [Tenohira De Odoru], HELLO SLEEPWALKERS [Flying Saucer], TELECiDE [Tied up Memories], SPIRITBOX [Belcarra], NEKO [Ghost on a Record], ROTTENGRAFFTY [Hallelujah], DIR EN GREY [Ningen wo Kaburu], X JAPAN [Kurenai], DAZZLE VISION [Second], GALNERYUS [Angel of Salvation], and many more...
Watching them perform Onset is pure Joy. Play is just off the charts awesomeness.
The Barefoot Assassin, and The Gorilla best rythm section in ROCK music today
I still can't wait to hear the studio version of "Don't be long". "Without Holding Back" I'll "Go Nuts" :)
Me too 💯%
THE BEST METAL BAND EVER PERIOD !
I love when they do funny faces to /with the drummer!
I love Band-Maid and you can't go wrong with any song suggestion given to youso I won't beat that dead horse! Instead, I'll beat this dead horse and keep giving you this list of band and song suggestions. If you want Japanese Metal here are a few recommendations:
Maximum the Hormone: Yoshu Fukushu
Unlucky Morpheus: Black Pentagram
Undead Corporation: Make Me Crazy
Lovebites: When Destinys Align
Galneryus: Raise My Sword
DOLL$BOXX (more rock funk with metal elements): Sekaiwa Kitto Aiwo or Shout Down
If you want something fun try this
Ladybaby: Nippon Manju
These bands and songs are just the tip of the iceberg.
The "chemistry" is something Miku cooked up in her magic kitchen!
Just that intro piece could be a full song.....yet they use it as an intro.....amazing band......thanks again from 🇨🇦
I think the thing with Band-Maid is during their live shows, they feed off of the energy of the crowd and give it back and then some. I love Lovebites, but they are just not as animated as Band-Maid is on stage. I'm 58 and I have never, ever been obsessed with a band like this before.
Love your reaction..for me your pronunciation is so clear that makes Asian people easier understanding what's ur saying which is good to learning english by watching reaction.nice work dude! maybe do August burns red -composure next time? oldskule metalcore rocks!
the lead singer's name, Saiki, pronounce as Psyche. hope that helps.
some people don't know how to pronounce "psyche" lol
Sye-Key
One thing about Play, it used to be Kanami doing the call and return with Misa at the start, but recent Miku has been stepping up.
Gonna throw you a bone here with the names.
Singer: Saiki (sigh - key)
Drums: Akane (ahh - kah - neh)
L Gt: Kanami (kah - nah - mee)
R Gt: Miku (mee - koo [like "cool"])
Bass: MISA (mee - sah)
I've said this before in other reactions but these ladies are actually prog musicians in a hard rock band.
OMG, the girls and Dave together in a stage? Hell, I would pay to see that live... Upvote for that! :D
Recommend from Japan:
Japan has many kinds of live rock'n'roll bands.
lovebites
asterism
babymetal
and more
The very talented Eddi Van Halen says, "Watch me tap." Kanami Tono says, "Hold my beer."
What can you say about Band Maid 10/10 all the time.
Thank you very much, it was very good selection of music.
Kanami's guitar does all the singing necessary for onset. 😻🎸
been listening for weeks first time i heard this.. mind fucked completely incredible kanami!
Kick ass hard rock and comedy is what they do, makes for a very entertaining show
Totally agree, alonside Mono, Band Maid is one of the most amazing live band around!
"These are all going on the playlist too, by the way."
Spoiler Alert: *ALL* the BAND-MAID songs are going to end up on your playlist. You might as well just buy the albums now ;-)
How many albums do they have?
@@MrEdwar084 They have 6 (about to be 7 in January) full albums. Only the last three albums, 'Just Bring It', World Domination', 'Conqueror,' are fully written by the band. The label was very controlling on the first three albums and didn't allow the band to write their own stuff. New single dropped today called 'Different'.
@@TehPhysics I think that unless they sing in English they will remain an underground band with a specific fanbase.
@@MrEdwar084 - well, that specific fanbase is growing exponentially.
Technical symphonic power metal, superb songwriting and a wonderful singer.
thsnk you for reacting to the girls
They are the happiest band in the world , so if you are not happy , just listen to them, and drink their energy .
👍👍👍👍
MISA MISA MISA! not the opener but still awesome. "Onset" (Japan and Europe) "Don't be Long" (US) is done about mid to two thirds of the way thru the Okyu-ji to give the Vocalist Sai-chan a break.
Yes BANDO-MAID for Life! Now listen to Lovebites - "Holy War" please!
Yes, it's time for Lovebites !
I like you Mr Chewie. You won't know it yet but carry on like this & I predict good things for your channel. BAND-MAID always 1st ❤ :)
When Miku-chan yells you to sing, you happily oblige-po :D
Great reaction 😎👍 subbed for the Zemaitis wielding Pigeon Queen 🕊️🌸
Just finished watching all your reaction videos to Band-Maid up to here. And I have to say, to see from video to video, how your opinion about them has changed or 'evolved', was fun to watch. 😄
I myself have become totally addicted to these ladies and their music over the last months.
Live album..yes!! Ivr had the same thought. We should make a petition.
I tried to describe but there's no button for it, so I just pressed the subscribe button, hope that's good too.
Love the Band Maid videos :D
Next ... EPICA! Symphonic metal. You will love it!
Thanks Chewie!
Did you hear our little Pigeon play rhythm guitar !!!!!! OMG....she has gotten really good and on top of her singing at the same time !!!!
If you are interested in more Japanese band, check DIR EN GREY. I recommend Vinushka Live video. They are gonna blow up your mind.
Glad your enjoying...here's to the algorithm!
The best display of Saiki's vocals is in the live performance of Wonderland. It's her real "show off" song. It's a lighter jazz/rock song.
Great reactions! +1 like +1 subscribe. Based on your comments and the songs you have heard so far, I would recommend these next (exact YT video names if YT):
Most metal song: BAND-MAID / 輪廻 "RINNE" (Official Music Video)
Best guitar duel: (You can't find the right video for this on YT anymore only bad audio quality videos exist on YT, you'll need to find on a different site or rip the video and audio from another reactor's video) "Don't you tell me - Live"
Best vocal performance: BAND-MAID / Wonderland (Official Live Video)
Best Japanese traditional style song: BAND-MAIKO / secret MAIKO lips (Official Music Video)
My personal favorite Band-Maid song: BAND-MAID / alone (Official Music Video)
Nothing against their live performances, which are amazing, but some of these songs are best enjoyed from their official music videos. Keep the reactions coming!
Akane’s snare!!
Here are some musically interesting performances:
Devon Townsend - Kingdom
Cradle of Filth - Nymphetamine
Slipknot - The Nameless
Lamb of God - Overlord
Mushroomhead - We Are the Truth
The tempos, vocal styles, mood, etc all change throughout these, and they will take you in new directions.
Great reaction!
Lyrics for Onset: " Awesome Music " 😂
If you're interested in doing another fun double reaction with Band Maid, then look up their song Secret My Lips. There is a second version of this song called Secret Maiko Lips that was released as an April fools joke a few years ago. Both are excellent!
First timer to your review vids. I like your style. Love Band Maid. They are puttin' on a live streaming show on the 13th. Check their website. I've seen two and they are epic.
