I learn a new lesson every day and in a month i have tea-caps if that’s how you spell it Im practically looking for something for my online friend and having to search up math and reading and math Stuff all day
I'm not even here to learn any math, this might be weird however I just like the sound of this guys voice. He was a big part of my middle school childhood which is funny. Back when life wasn't so stressful, you get to be a child and have no responsibilities. Now I'm nearing finishing some job certifications while I stumbled upon these videos again.
Khan Academy has been one of my best inspirations in continuing learning Math and sciences. That is why I decided to create my won't channel to help those who want to learn or continue learning, the skills of Math and Sciences or other useful skills in their lives. I think that if through grace we receive though grace we give.
o.m.g. i am so glad i found this site on UA-cam. my son is really struggling and unfortunately i struggle with math and fractions is where my math skilled stopped at many years ago. i felt so helpless to help my son and i even got him into a so-called tutoring class at school but it's not focusing on his weaknesses but a general computer generated program that just has a beginning start, not what he needs help on right now in order to do his class and homework. i am so grateful this is easy enough for even me to follow and now i can help my baby. thank you so much.
I'm studying for the GMAT to get into the MBA program at my university. When I found out that they do not allow calculators in the exam, I realized I would have to reteach myself basic math. This guy has taught me 1st - 6th grade math in a matter of a few videos. Thank you for teaching me long multiplication & division (even with decimals), as well as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions.
people like you are actually contributing to the world through internet, one of the very few, respect. btw thanks for the refresher course before college, i love your channel!
@Hassan Hamdan Thats mean to say. Also, that's pretty smart to do. Actually, thats what i should do, along with you too. So don't be mean because she/he is teaching a life lesson here.
Fractions have always been my weak point. I do a lot better with visuals, because I'm a visual learner. These videos helped me through high school and college. I'm now getting my BS degree soon, and am back to study for my ASVAB exam. Kahn Academy is the best. Thank you for all your hard work :)
I am 31 yrs old. I have never been able to understand math untill I came across your videos. Now I understand, it's not the student,.. its the teacher. Some people can really do math.. it doesn't mean they can teach it. Thank you for not confusing me with shortcuts that "untalented" math teachers think its such a good idea to teach. :)
I'm already 13, but I'm just learning about this, and learning better than ever with Khan Academy, this is the magic of their videos, and I love Sal's voice. Aaaaaah, maths is so satisfying when you know it.
This is great for reminders, I'm in college and forgot even some simple math and saw these videos that greatly refresh my memory. Wish I had this in my earlier school days and be rewatching these videos to keep me reminded for good use. Thanks a lot for the videos!
Commenting on this because I am now in college and forgot some simple math stuff and felt like you needed a reminder of how far you've come from 11 years ago. Hope you're doing well random internet stranger!
I’m in the fifth grade and I’m re-watching this because we’re gonna need to take a quiz on math before, and I totally forgot how to add and subtract fractions this helped a lot
Thank you khan academy, I always had trouble with adding and subtracting fractions. This lasted me through highschool, you are the reason for my diploma.
I wanted to say thank you for a very well presented demonstration of a mathematical fundamental. I was given a task to help my son with homework and honestly needed help myself. We both were able to build confidence with the help of your video and my son is now chillin'.
thanks for making the background black, now i can watch these math videos at 3 am the morning of a test without being blinded. totally hasnt happened to me before🗿
Thank you a lot Khan Academy, this helped me a lot. Awesome tutorials that you do. Before I saw this, I got really bad at math fractions, and now I am better because of this. I really liked this video so thank you Khan Academy
I feel like this is a great resource for students just being introduced to fractions. I would love to show this in my classroom to help students understand how to add/subtract fractions.
yes you can have dis-functional parents, yes you can have unruly children but when you have a teacher that only teaches one way and if you don't get it first time you are looked at as an idiot and embarrassed in front of your peers at an age where others options of you really matter it can lead to you retreating inside. Never asking questions, pretending to know the answers and dreading going to school each day. These kind of teachers were prevalent when I was at school. "It was good enough for me,its good enough for you !" was their mantra. I really hope that these abusers, yes they are abusers because they abuse ones spirit to excel, are not as common place today. As for this video...I now understand fractions a lot more than I did, but it did make my brain quiver :)
+slicedpage As a child in elementary school, I was regularly made a fool of because of teachers. I had many verbally abusive, degrading teachers, as well as one physically abusive one. They only taught one way, and never attempted to adapt at ALL to any students. Their mistakes are the reason why I've failed so many classes (math especially), as I became a very reclusive student, too afraid to ask questions. And I'm a Junior in high school now, so that was not too long ago.
+Crysis482 as life isn't hard enough, people like these add to life's stresses. Now having left school a long time ago I look back regret these a- holes getting to me. imposing their weeknesses onto me. But i have to remind myself i was young what could i have done. Now i look back and realise they too had their demons but lacked the emotional intelligence to control them. To break the circle . I remember my last day at school. I piled all my school books up and set fire to them. A form of clensing perhaps. Adult life began that day. learning too that no one is better than me and i am not better than anyone. I read somewhere that we are all damn fools for ten minutes each day....wisdom is not exceeding it. llap
Raye Landry well done . You are aware of the obstacles in your way and have found the courage to remove them. As time goes by your confidence will grow and those critical of your actions will fall by the wayside. I LOVE Khan Academy. I am secondary ed math teacher, but many of my students do not understand elementary concepts, such as fractions. It is nice to watch your videos to get back to the basics of HOW those concepts should be taught. I've also considered using your videos when I am unable to be in class.
