I've been using mines at the apprenticeship school and gotta tell you guys this is the best lens I've ever owned highly recommend it to all my ironworker brothers and sisters
If you're looking to buy this lens I would highly recommend it. I've tried a few of the better HD lenses out there (Lincoln 4c, Miller, and that tefuawa one to name a few) and I would say this is by far the best one. The clarity with the contrasting colors makes it so easy to see what you're welding. The puddle is orange with a slight purple hue and the rest of the view stays pretty true to it's original color with a blue tint. At shade 10 I can see about a 4"x2" area and the Arc isn't too bright I can't speak for battery life or welding in the sun as I've only had it for about 3 weeks in welding school. It comes with a change of batteries tho
Boy that’s a fancy lens I been kicking the idea of auto lens I been using a fixed shade my whole life in my sugar scoop but I figured I need to evolve with the times so I’m looking around this looks kinda complicated but I’m sure I could get the hang of it and it would be nice to use for torching I just use sunglasses most the time but after a few hours of that straight I get spots going on pretty bad
Erm....I've only had it for less than a week but this lens is awesome! I had to do some torch cutting and was all sorts of "well I wonder?" so I put it on 5 and O_O "Mine!" I especially like how it comes with two spare batteries and I'm genuinely curious how long they'll last! I won't be buying any of the cover lenses alas I will be using the stock inner cover plate to make a template (Mr. step drill likes poly-carbonate!) to make inner cover plates! I tried it on the shade 5 setting and whoa! It's trippy to torch cut in a shade other than green! :)
I didn't feel like grabbing my shade 5 glasses out of my bag today so I just set this lens to 5 and I was honestly blown away by how much better it looked when the torch isn't all green and orange. It was insanely clear
Are the lenses that come with the hood auto darkening or we have to buy it separately? I’m looking at the tiger hood and it includes a gold shade 10 lens. Is that already auto darkening?
I am going to buy these lenses, I do not understand if I x the color of the light and the classic green or if it turns out to be another color, thanks to the answer!
@@ronmarshall725 I've had great success with it, and it seems far more clear. The different settings are awesome. is it as good as a dedicated Welding hood like a Speedglass 9000? No. But does it suffice for situations where you need a grinding lens? I think so! I don't have a lot of experience but I love it so far.
how does this one compare to the ameriarc lens? i love how clear the ameri one is, but there has been a couple of times where I wish I could turn the shade up.
One question? Are those better than the 4c linconln technology lens?? I have those and a viking 4 sensor hood they are very clean. But I am wondering 🤔 if these is way better cuz it says high definition 🤔
That's what I'm curious about. I have a drop-in 4c 2x4. I like it, but I am always looking to upgrade. Haven't seen any side by side reviews. Maybe I'll do one myself.
@@Peter.Lecomte oh I 👀..make sense..have u try the one that is like a face mask from miller..they say is pretty good but to bright 🌞 but sometimes it's needed
@@elpipewelder3990 no. I normally wear a respirator. The 2x4 goes in my full face as well if i need it. I have used the big Viking 4c and it's an awesome view.

Can you grind outside of grind mode without it auto darkening by messing with the settings?
You might be able to grind a little bit with setting the sensitivity as low as possible, but most lenses will activate from sparks
