I can't get past the fish scream. I love the director defending the decision. Yeah, we couldn't have the fish biting her finger or something to cause the girls to recoil. A chimpanzee shriek felt natural to move the plot forward.
As she waved her finger in front of it, I formed a whole plot point in my mind where a girl gets her finger but off and they are set up to think these secret ancient piranha are their challenge, but then it’s a bait and switch (😊) and oh noes there are actually HUGE SHARKS that are they REAL danger!
Man I got bite by a huge blue gill and it scared the hell out of me 😂 I wish that fish would have shrieked rather than me would have made for a better story
I watched this with my roomate who doesn't do horror, she was practically crying from the jump scares and I was dying from laughing at the ridiculousness of it all. You didn't mention the low freight train sound that repeats everytime the shark pops up or does a passover, it's almost like the shark is doing a long low growl 😂 At first I though I shrugged it off as just the music hitting a low note for the first pop up, but it happens everytime.
I literally said “3,2,1” right before every death because of how predictable it was. Almost each one is “oh thank god, we’re okay now. Nothing bad can possibly hap-ah crap I’m dead”

Pretty fitting it would be set in a cenote since the Mayans believed they were entrances to the underworld. Don't think any of their myths made mention of cave sharks, though. You would think if the entrance to the ocean was navigable by humans, the sharks would be able to find their way out. Also seems like a weird place for a shark tour featuring Whites since they generally prefer colder water

@@SHARKBYTES well, I for one am curious about the likelihood so many sailors were actually attacked. What species were involved? I've heard tiger, thresher... but moreover they were at sea for 5 days after being torpedoed! Perhaps lying adrift in the sea, watching their countrymen succumb to injury and dehydration coupled with seeing fins and the strewn dead being eaten changed the narrative, historically. How many living men were actually attacked and consumed? I suspect the number is low. From your videos it's apparent that sharks aren't maneaters by nature. I imagine a video like that would be met with anger (questioning veterans' accounts and all...) Regardless may I ask your opinion? I certainly could see why "mass lives lost to shark swarm" would seem realistic to the men in the water at the time especially. Even in jaws Quint mentions his friend bitten in half below the waist, implying shark being cause of death. But the sailor could've been dead already; from hypothermia, dehydration or hypernatremia. Sharks exploratory biting the living seems super possible but I just don't buy 400+ shark inflicted fatalities! Em
I think I liked it a bit more, although I was already expecting it to be very silly. When I watched I think I somehow appreciated the jump into insanity of the last couple of minutes. I don't know why but it made me quite happy. Every shark movie after The Shallows has decided they need to copy its final act, but they try to make it bigger (for the most part with less money and less talent). There's one I watched a while ago in which you get 30 minutes of landscapes, 45 minutes of people in a raft and suddenly 10 minutes of underwater Matrix with sharks.
@@SHARKBYTES It's called Great White (it's the one with Katrina Bowden). But I'm not sure you actually want to watch it lol It's worse than any of the 47 meters downs.

nice job were waiting eighteen years for the title now. Only, we are the one of the two biggest clubs here we are used to take titles lol, the struggle man.....
So something I notice in the subtitles The title card is translated in the subtitles, but of course numbers can’t be translated. There’s a 47 at the start of the text, and a two at the end. This leads me to believe this movie is called “47 meters down 2” in other languages
Little late on this one but try Lake Placid- yes it's a giant-crocodile-eating-people movie, but in reality they at least treat it like an animal and not a monster. Pretty fun little movie
10:27 At least in Deep Blue Sea it was a great surprise, as despite knowing the sharks are in the pool, it isn't too expected for the shark to just jump out from it to drag Samuel L. Jackson. In this movie it's just dumb because they're in the water with the sharks literally below them, lol.
You should react to some sequels. Idk if you have already but I’d like you to react to the jaws sequels or maybe even just sharknado 2! Haha lol. And I actually am a fan of the sharknado franchise. I love bad movie so much!
the dad character was also the love interest in the film "My Big fat Greek wedding". And I like to think that as this was a Weinstein film that the standard Great whites were like Harvey at he hight of his powers whereas the Cave Sharks are like how he's presenting himself in court - a pathetic shadow a man. Ooooh Foreshadowing!
Cave diving vs open water diving... if open water is like riding a bike, jumping into cave diving is hopping into a car and expecting it to have the same pedals
I could be wrong but I think the reason the archeologists weren’t attacked before is because the sharks were in a different part of the cave so when the cave collapsed it let them in.
Sharks have so many amazing senses. How much do great whites rely on their sight? If a great white was blind (not through evolution but rather through an accident or a fight), do you think it would be able to survive using its other senses?
Great whites are very visual predators (although difficult to compare to our eyes), its thought they have pretty good eyesight, in order to be able to see their prey on the surface. If a white lost its eyesight in an accident (both eyes), i think it would struggle to survive.
@@SHARKBYTES Surely at that close, though, the Ampullae would kick in. Electrosense is still decent out to like 1.5 to 3m, isn't it? That was the part I couldn't get past. They seemed to have lost any sense of electrical, hearing or lateral line detection. If it wasn't the bubbles, or the electrical current, you're telling me their hearts weren't beating ridiculously fast?
"I can tell you with 100% certainty that fish do not scream at you". Apparently you have never seen the episode of "River Monsters" where Jeremy catches the redtail catfish in the Amazon...... 😁Oh yes, fish do scream at you 🤣🤣🤣 Edit- ok, so I guess technically it was more of a growl, but still, it was a fish, making a noise of aggression and hostility TOWARDS A PERSON!!!! What the не|| is that even?
Apparently the sharks were in another part of the complex that was sealed off from where the girls were. Then the fish screamed, the girls panicked and a mini-cave in happened. And well, as you can guess that is when the sharks got loose in the other part of the complex.

I don’t see Megalon movie commentary. Lol. That one was epic. 🤣
I do love the movie reviews. I have most, if not all of the films you've reviewed. Maybe we should collaborate?? lol
The movie reviews are the second-best thing about your channel - the best being the no-nonsense shark info. Keep it up, dude!
Might help me out with the subtitle issue hahahah! Thanks for commenting Daren!
Have you seen there's another shark film coming out? It's called SHARK BAIT, and it looks pretty.... awful!

Him: "Watch this with the lights off, it's very dark"
Me, looking at the sun through the window: "Could you turn off, please? :)"
Damn sun always getting in the way!
1:35 awww :D
Do love a good bounce around hahahaha
Welp that’s 15:01 of my life I’ll never get back 🤣🤣
Did the Falmouth Town mention get you a players shirt.
Not yet - but still trying Brett hahahaha
Ok I love a Shark man. So I'm subscribing right now....Cheers everyone
nice job were waiting eighteen years for the title now. Only, we are the one of the two biggest clubs here we are used to take titles lol, the struggle man.....
Who’s your team? 😁
@@SHARKBYTES Hajduk Split cro
So something I notice in the subtitles
The title card is translated in the subtitles, but of course numbers can’t be translated. There’s a 47 at the start of the text, and a two at the end. This leads me to believe this movie is called “47 meters down 2” in other languages
Good spot!
Genuine question: are there any of these "environmental" type horror movies where the predators act at least mostly like actual animals?
I think its highly unlikely hahahah
The reef and open water? For shark movies atleast
Jaws?
Little late on this one but try Lake Placid- yes it's a giant-crocodile-eating-people movie, but in reality they at least treat it like an animal and not a monster. Pretty fun little movie
The Ghost and the Darkness maybe?
Oh this is where it's at, I'm so stoked to watch this later LOL this is my ultimate modern trashy shark film
Hope you enjoy Sondre!
I really love your commentaries 😊
Thanks to Robert Marc Lehmann that I found you ❤❤❤
I'm late but I hope you do shark night. I remember owning the movie and watching it with friends years ago and would love to see a review.
I'll make sure Shark Night is on the list!
“Watch this with the lights off” me sat in my room that’s lit up like Blackpool illuminations 🤡
hahahahah get em off!!
I watched this yesterday and the end was badass
Bloody jump scares 😂
This is dope no cap
Cheers Matty!
Okay, now I’m bingeing all your shark movie reviews because I watched “Bait” for some reason.😅
Every time the shark shows up it sounds like a lawnmower lol
You should react to some sequels. Idk if you have already but I’d like you to react to the jaws sequels or maybe even just sharknado 2! Haha lol. And I actually am a fan of the sharknado franchise. I love bad movie so much!
They are definitely on the list, hopefully Jaws 2 very soon..!!
@@SHARKBYTES nice!!!
This is like 'The Descent' but with sharks.
Definitely was like a weird combo of the descent, Jaws, DBS and The Shallows hahaha
Well, sit down around the campfire kids, looks like we got another movie on our hands!
Hope you enjoy Dominque!
@@SHARKBYTES I will!
Welcome to mexico!!!!! Where we have the bad ass sharks lmaooo. Thank you for visiting 🤷😂😂😂😂
the dad character was also the love interest in the film "My Big fat Greek wedding". And I like to think that as this was a Weinstein film that the standard Great whites were like Harvey at he hight of his powers whereas the Cave Sharks are like how he's presenting himself in court - a pathetic shadow a man. Ooooh Foreshadowing!
Cave diving vs open water diving... if open water is like riding a bike, jumping into cave diving is hopping into a car and expecting it to have the same pedals
not sure if i could bring myself to watch this!
😁Oh yes, fish do scream at you 🤣🤣🤣
Edit- ok, so I guess technically it was more of a growl, but still, it was a fish, making a noise of aggression and hostility TOWARDS A PERSON!!!! What the не|| is that even?
I’ll have to check out this Jeremy Wade video!!
10:22 that feels like a reference to Samual L Jackson in DEEP BLUE SEA
i spoke to soon! lol
Apparently the sharks were in another part of the complex that was sealed off from where the girls were. Then the fish screamed, the girls panicked and a mini-cave in happened. And well, as you can guess that is when the sharks got loose in the other part of the complex.
Thanks for suffering through these goofy movies for us lol
You are more than welcome Oliver! Thanks for commenting!
7 for originality and 8 for plausibility. If this were science fiction it can be bumped to 8 and 9. There is suspense that I liked.
Some fair ratings here!
i remember seeing the ads on tv and i laughed at how ridiculous it was
No shark movie has captured the essence of a gripping fear of sharks for entertainment purposes like JAWS 🦈🦈🦈🦈
You should have react to the miniseries creature, which is base of the book that Peter benchley the writer of Jaws wrote
i'll have to google that Suzanne!

John Corbett must have really blown through his Sex & The City pay checks to get involved with this drivel 😂
Hahahah trying to make ends meet 😂😂
