Thanks so much for watching! I hope you found this video on what we children's authors can learn from the barbie movie helpful. Be sure to find me over on Instagram & TikTok, so we can connect there as well!
Thanks again Eevi for looking at the whole picture. Jane and I had no idea how complicated and involved this industry was. As, you know, we have produced 5 books for children/parents, and we are learning as we go thanks to you.... It is so difficult to have a beautiful children's book ready and think of all the necessary things needed to do before pressing that publish button! Patience is tough. John and Jane
I just watched the Barbie movie and loved the set designs and costumes, and of course the overall message to women and children. Thanks for pointing out the valuable lessons we can learn from Mattel's marketing and their response to customer feedback. Your insights are spot-on, Evie! Thank you. Another idea children's authors could add to the book (if the story is about food) is a recipe that parents and kids can cook together.
Thanks for sharing those excellent observations. It's interesting how many things outside of our immediate reality really have correlations to things within our circumstances.
Thanks for your clearly stated insights Evii. However, I would like to hear other people's ideas on how to provide add-ons which relate to our stories but don't create the sort of landfill nightmare that movies with lots of add-on products inevitably create. I don't think that's responsible in this day and age.
You're so welcome, Christine! And this video right here has lots of ideas for add on for our books. I so hope this helps - ua-cam.com/video/57WmuNXd3TA/v-deo.html

Thanks so much, Nina! And yes - recipes are such a wonderful idea as well, especially if it ties in with the story.
