Maurice. Maurice is the movie that completely changed my perception of Hugh Grant. I was never a fan of the bumbling Englishman persona he played in Richard Curtis' movies. Grant in Maurice was able to deftly play Clive's tormented and complex character very well, giving him a kind of vulnerability that wasn't so apparent in the book.
Notting Hill was a turd, that sucker wouldn't flush it kept circling the bowl!! Bitter Moon was good and About A Boy wasn't dreadful. He's a ''type'' and always will be, but a successful type none the less.
